There was only one place that Axel knew of where he could engage in irresponsible behavior without anyone looking at him weirdly for it; The Watering Hole. A little bar outside town that looked like it really needed renovating. Seriously, there wasn't even a pool table there. Either way, it was one of the few places Axel would show his face around for a drink. And after an embarrassingly shameful night like tonight, Axel felt it would be appropriate to beat his frontal lobes with some hard liquor.
The telekinetic hood pulled into the near-nonexistent parking lot next the bar and found himself a spot in the bar. The hood looked around seeing few face. What time was it? Axel looked around for clock to somewhere on the walls, but couldn't find one anywhere. It wouldn't matter in a few minutes anyway. Soon the time would melt away. All Axel had to was wait for that weird looking bartender to come around. The one with cat ears.

Well this was quite a new thing to do. Axel couldn't remember the least time he had went shopping for clothes. More specifically, shopping for nice clothes. Dress clothes. Axel spent nearly nearly and hour and a half getting him a suit that fit and fixing his hair. Tonight was going to be serious, and what better way to show you were serious, than to wear a suit. though, the only suit that was in stock and that fit Axel, was a white pinstripe suit that wound up making him look like Tony Montana in Scarface. Axel only realized his mistake later that night after watching the movie. Needless to say he was cursing himself. He thought something about the suit seemed familiar. White pinstripe and red undershirt? It was a no wonder why the person helping him at the store said he looked like a "real gangster". There was no turning back now. It was almost time. The hood combed his hair and got himself ready before heading out to the Watering Hole to meet Kalula.
Upon arriving, Axel noticed that he was close to the only one there. Perhaps the bar would get more customers if it looked like an actual up to date bar and not something out an anime trying to look like a western fantasy. But that was just Axel's two cents. He had no real input on the bar. He could change it. Plus, it wasn't a friday night. That would help explain the lack of activity. This was good though. Axel needed the area to be as empty as possible, for his sake.

Kalula
It had been a busy day for the bookstore owner. She had got away with a few sales prices and got away like a thief at the store. Navarre and that weird kid went home happy with his blonde friend so everything was going perfectly. A lot was on her mind even as she tied her hair bows. She looked like a ********' kindergartener... This dress was actually stitched by her late husband and it still fit her nicely. With her I.D in hand she exited and made her way to the bar to wait for Axel.
"Warm sake please..." She said with a rather quick flash of her I.D. The guy behind the counter had to take the thing and scan it to make sure it was real before setting her up with her drink. A soft sigh wasn't enough to get rid of her frustration but her thoughts were enough to keep her distracted. 'Letocio...' That boy had said it, she didn't understand how, but he had said the word. Did Kalula have the guts to summon Danny, did she want to? She was so confused...maybe that was why she went with an innocent girly outfit instead of a sexy one...was she taken? Did Danny take her? Eh...this constant back and forth of doubt was idiotic. At one point she wished Danny would just show up and whisk her away again...carrying her into a night of romance... It would be so much simpler than deciding for herself...
The doors far behind her opened and a rather suited Axel appeared. He looked pretty comical but the effort was definitely appreciated. The man looked rather strapping without the machine gun that would go great with that outfit. Thankfully Kalula brought a fan in her purse just to keep things sane. If this was going to get out of control she could at least fight back. "I'm sure a certain siren whose never seen scarface would love your outfit choice." She said, trying to set a light mood as the telekinetic hood drew closer. The man wasn't wearing his hood and his hair was slicked back...was something wrong here?

Axel tried to walk into the bar with a bit more confidence in himself, but couldn't get the hang of it. This overly gregarious white suit was just too much for him. He already wanted to hide himself away. However, there was a job he needed to do. Scurrying his way to the front where the tiny bookstore owner sat, Axel felt like he managed to not evade the "eyes" all looking at him. Most of it was just in his head after all.
After sitting down, the well dressed hood immediately ordered his favorite drink and tried to get comfortable. This was all seeming like a bad idea. Axel sat with his shoulders hunching over and trying to hide his face. Is this what it felt like to be naked? It had been far too long since he had felt this way. That was the main reason he wore a hood most of the time. Axel remembered back to the time at the beach with Rose. He felt comfortable showing his face to her there. Did he show his face? Axel couldn't quite remember if his hood was off or not.
The hood's thoughts ceased when Kalula made a light jab at his appearance. Axel groaned and ordered the bartender over to get a couple shots of bourbon. "I wasn't thinking." Axel coughed as he downed the second shot of liquor. With his head down, Axel's hair was falling forward and starting to look like it was before, only cleaner and less messy. He contemplating on returning the teasing gesture back the tiny bookstore owner, but shots at how she looked like a grade schooler were just low hanging hanging fruit. Perhaps a shot at Danny, Mr. King of Dragons? No. Maybe it was just best to leave it alone. "Jokes aside, can you guess why I asked you to come here?" Axel said sipping lightly on the cloudy white drink in his hand.

Kalula
Kalula sat, drinking with the young male as if they were old drinking buddies and for a moment it felt natural. She could see herself drinking with Axel every now and then, just shooting the breeze and getting taken by inebriation. For a while, in their silence, her thoughts drifted to Danny. She wondered what he would if he got drunk, did he even get drunk? Was he capable of such a thing? Considering the very same thing she was avoiding him for, she might not pursue the idea of getting him shlocked.
As Axel spoke she returned to the conversation, her eye's never leaving the bottle next to her cup. Axel was still a pretty big mystery to her and she didn't trust the rage in his heart. One thing she did see in him was how much he cared for Rose, even if she was a passing fancy, he definitely didn't push her aside the way she assumed he would. "Not really, I can assume why I'm here but I would rather hear it from you." She leaned back abit, straightening her dress as best she could before turning to Axel and listening to what the hoodless hood had to say.

Axel thought about it for a moment before the alcohol inside began to creep around and hijack his senses. Common sense was being given a halfday and his judgement was going on a lunch break. That didn't mean the hood was going to start spouting out profanity or endanger his guest. Though, a word or two may slip from him. "It's about the other night. I know that because that, you don't trust me. Although, you probably didn't trust me to begin with." Axel looked forward with a thousand yard stare at the shelf full of liquor bottles. "That incident the other night, with my brother, I wish that never happened. I never meant to scare anyone or let them know I had a brother who was a wandering killer. Most of all, I didn't mean for Rose to see me like I was some kind of zombie." The regret inside the hood's heart began to build. His hand clenched tightly into a fist. "No matter what I do, no how many books I read, no matter how much I cultivate my own power, no matter where I go or who I get involved with, my brother will always be a few steps behind, looming over the horizon."
Axel hung his head like a dead man hanging in the gallows. It felt like defeat for him to speak to so grimly. "Sure, I actually hold the advantage over my brother. My powers cold allow me to be rid of him easily, but then I'd be no better than him. I'd live my whole life knowing that in this little story, I was Kane, and he was some sick and twisted version of Abel. Until I'm rid of Jonah, Rose won't be safe around me. Especially now that he knows I live here in Janhall." The hood took another drink from the sweating glass next to him.
"But there's the problem. Rose is the first person I've gotten close to in a long long time. I never knew my brother got out of prison, so when I cam here, I thought I was free. I could forget about him. Rose and I could actually be something. That's why I let myself go and relaxed. I thought I was safe."

Kalula
Kalula sighed, doing her best to stop Axel from talking before even starting herself. "If you're trying to get me to talk to Rose you should save your breath. That girl seems innocent but when she get's her mind set to something even I can't change it. She's got her mind set to you Axel, she even yelled at Yumi about it." Kalula tried to joke before grabbing her own drink and downing it with a rather adorable sour face.
"That girl doesn't know how to fight but I could teach her. Either way she refuses to stop seeing you, even when I disapproved. Let's face it Ax, she looks cute and all, but she's an adult in her own right too. She's made her choice, and if we don't support her we might both lose her y'know?" She sighed, her finger lightly rimming her own sweating glass.
"When I found a siren on the side of the road who needed a place to live I second guessed it. I was very skeptic...but she looked so normal. Come to find out she's probably the nicest person I'm ever going to meet. I just wanna make sure she gets to grow up and enjoy the things I did...like falling in love, getting married. All that...I just wanna protect her, and I think Yumi does too." Kalula laughed, her voice feeling slightly bittersweet. "I guess you can do whatever you want, but she does like you. What you do with that info is your business."

Axel paused and listened to Kalula's side of the matter. When all was said and done, he felt a bit underwhelmed by her response. He really didn't expect this at all. He expected her to be like a brooding mother that was watchful of her children or scorn him for being so mysterious and untrustworthy. Although, the small bookstore owner did have an air of mystery herself. A somewhat intimidating mystery. It was almost like she was going the dressed hood a warning. Axel felt like he had opened a door that to nothing bu to a straight drop.
In the end, it was Rose who was making this relationship happen. Axel breathed a sigh. He kind of felt like hypochondriac going to a doctor being told nothing was wrong. Deep in his mind, knew something was wrong though. Why was the hood really here at this bar? It wasn't for what the bookstore owner was getting at. He didn't spill his guts to have her tell him that a siren loves him. It was more of a confession. Axel playing the role of the sinner and Kalula as the redeemer. The hood wanted acceptance. He wanted trust. Perhaps it was better to cut his loses. He wasn't going to get the pity he was looking for here, and shouldn't bother trying. "Well, good talk then." The hood said finally, pushing his drink away. The ice inside the glass had melted away and all that was left was a perspiring drink.

Kalula
Kalula nodded, accepting the male's sentiment. "Is that really all? I have a feeling you wanted to continue. I'm sorry for being so blunt I just don't like beating around bushes." The next round of their drinks were served and she downed another shot with reckless abandon. She felt the warmer liquid cascade down her throat and her eye's were dulling, perhaps it was time to stop. It was then that she noticed a rather angry spirit staring at her from across the bar. He looked like he was multiplying at first but he wasn't...he was just sitting there, and staring.
"Axel...I'm no priest, I can't absolve you of sins and I can't help you cross over. You don't need acceptance or salvation anyway, just find your happiness and quit living in the past." The bookstore owner was officially blushing, her body tilting slightly as her eyes found themselves glued to the malevolent spirit. It shook it's head and stood before walking to her and pushing her back. Her shoulder racked against Axel's and she tilted slightly back, falling off the stool and on to her bottom. "Alright I get it! You have problems, but don't...push..."

Entering the back door for employees only Riannon walked inside and hung her purse up and grabbed her apron. Well better get to work. Emilio is probably running the kitchen tonight. Which means I should be running the bar and floor. Hopefully I don't have any trainees tonight. I really don't want to deal with them at the moment. She thought as she tied her apron around her waist and then made sure her jacket was in place with her wings covered before pulling her hair back. "Okay. Time to clock in and go out there with a smile." She said to herself as she walked over to one of the time keepers and punched in her start time. After doing so she put on a small smile and headed out onto the floor. Okay not too busy. At least right now. Looks like a couple of guys in the back that are playing a card game. And a couple of people sitting at the bar. Alright might as well get to work. She thought to herself as she grabbed a tray and started to clear some tables that the bus boys left untouched for some unknown reason, probably they were pulled into the back to help with dishwashing or something else. Geez I get here and it seems the only other person here is a random employee that I don't even remember their name.

Art by Calpheon Krolik entered the bar. He glanced around before heading towards the bar and taking a seat. Not many people, nor too crowded, it was nice. Krolik waited for the bar tender to arrive, and pondered what he'd have. He's passed this place a few times, but never once entered. He didn't feel as if it'd be worth his time. Krolik ran his fingers through his hair and sighed silently. "Well, there's a first for everything." He said quietly to himself. He saw the little cat girl. Is she the only one here ? Quite a shame. At least it isn't chaotic. He thought. (( I'm so rusty, ugh. ))

Walking behind the bar with a tray of glasses Riannon notices a man with bunny ears walk in and sit at the bar. Welp. First real customer of the night. She noted as she walked up to the person and gave a friendly smile. "Hi there. What can I get for you tonight sir?" She asked politely as she grabbed a notepad out of her apron and the pen out of her hair.

"Well we carry beers, wines, ciders, and majority of hard liquors. Is there anything in particular that you like taste wise? It will help narrow it down." Riannon said as she tried to stay polite. I like it when people have an idea at very least. But if they are new to the bar scene then I have to be extra patient. She thought as she kept her small smile on her face. "A lot of people drink mixed drinks. Those would be like a rum and coke, screwdriver is one that is orange juice and vodka. It all really depends on what you like." She said as she threw a couple of drink names at the guy.
