Eyes closed slowly waking from sleep. Kulasi listens to the sounds of the world not bothering to open her eyes. Pitter pitter spsh. The first sound she hears is a light rain rebounding of the leaves above and into the river close by. Then a rustle and a whoosh and a whistle, the wind blowing and moving the trees. So strong it whistle, protected by the trees she feels nothing but a breeze. She breaths listening to the breath suck in and fill her chest, a slight strain with to much air, then the whistle as she blows it out. a few drops fall on her head just barely getting threw the protective canopy above. The water will be good for her garden. The smell of which is hidden by the oder of wet dirt and rain. Then she hears the quick flaps of bird wings and a familiar indignant chip. She opens her eyes for the first time and smiles as her bird friend Akiru shakes the water off of his soaking feathers. The lights strong even with so much clouds in the sky, she's impressed. "Dd you have a good flight Aki?" She says half joking. Akiru glares at his large horsey friend and flaps his wings at her spraying her with water and winning a small laugh. She doesn't laugh much any more and the sound makes him smile. "No I did not. The rain started right as I left the protection of the trees. I decided to continue flying of course I haven't done it in so long!" As he talks he continues to shake his feathers and preen himself to make sure all of them are in order, plucking out a couple of the more damaged ones. "But just as I got a mile out a huge wind picked up and I could barely control my flight path! I just barely made it home after deciding it was too risky to continue. You could have lost me forever!" He concluded his small speech by staring intensely into Kuu's eyes Something only he is ever allowed to do. Such a pity really her blue eyes sparkle.Kuu nuzzled her small feathery friend and shook her head dismissively. "I'm sure you'd always come back even in the mist of a raging storm, you'd come home to me." And she was right of course, because with out him she'd be more then just alone. He was her only companion, the only reason why the life she leads now doesn't drive her mad. Even if it was the life she chose. They settled back together resting as the storm raged on, none of their normal activities being safe right now.

Kileona had set out early, waking before even the first rays of light peeked over the horizon. Typically this would be a great feat indeed for the care free stallion, but as he raised his head to gaze at the cloud filled sky he couldnt help but chuckle. Unlike any normal, bright, and sunny day there would be no way for the male to tell the time with this overcast. Of course the world would get brighter as the morning progressed, and he assumed would continue to do so until the sun was at it's peak, but there wasn't any accuracy without the golden beams casting their light directly on the world. It could be early morning or it could almost be noon already.
But who cared.
With the clouds came the rain; a drop here and there progressing to an endless drizzle. Typically it would be refreshing, but though winters grasp was no longer gripping the lands there was still a chill in the air and the wind bit fiercely without remorse.
But who cared.
Kileona shrugged and bobbed his head as if he was listening and dancing to a tropical melody. Water ran down his face and body, plastering most of his mane to his neck and face, only daring to leaving his form once it reached the ground or when it was flung from him in his joyful movements. Kileona supposed he should attempt to find shelter. Though there wasnt any harm in being in the rain, and indeed it was a relaxing way to keep oneself clean, there could be great harm in any illness or sickness that may arise from being drenched for a prolonged period of time. Casually he sauntered from the field he had been wandering though to the nearest treeline he could spy. The seemingly woven branches formed a makeshift covering, and instantly Kileona could feel a lessening of the bitter wind biting his hide. But why stand still? It wasnt enough to simply be sheltered from the storm; oh no. Now there was an entirely unexplored world for Kileona to wander about! He set of once more, weaving in and out of the tree trunks, his casual smile never once dropping from his maw. Though similar in many ways, Kileona was quite amazed at the differences between his jungle home and the forests of these lands. And he enjoyed every bit of it. He continued to bob his head, simply enjoying and taking in every sight, smell and sound he could.
Sound. Though there were many differences in the ambiance of each world there was one thing for certain - A voice was a voice. The blue stallion paused mid stride as a delicate voice managed to reach his ears through the howl of the wind. It had been quite some time since he had met another being, and was always curious as to the customs and daily activities of those living here. "Aloha!" Kileona called out through the forest. He had herd the voice for only a moment, and with the wind he was unsure as to which direction it had come from. There were groups of threes scattered about that one could barely see through, and other parts where one could see for yards on end - there was no telling as to where the being might be. But, perhaps, if the being did not mind his intrusion they would answer back. A bit of company seemed appropriate after all for a day such as this - actually, company was wonderful in general, and appropriate for any time and occasion!

Kulasi head snapped up horrified. She had heard a voice. Someone was coming near. She was safe in her clearing though wasn't she. Wait. The voice. Did it just say Aloha? Kuu stared in the direction the voice had come from. The voice with a greeting from her home on his lips. She hadn't been greeted in that way in quiet some time. Akiru the only other in these lands whom she thought would know the phrase never had need to greet her, nor she him. She was surprised, and shocked by how homesick she suddenly felt. She was happier here away from her family who didn't understand and her friends that turned their backs when she didn't fit in just right. But it was were she grew up and she missed it. But she didn't want to go back and she didn't want to interact with anouther soquili so she didn't respond. instead she laid her head back done closed her eyes and listened to the rain in hopes of him giving up and leaving. She never considered the fact that Akiru also missed his home land. was also home sick, maybe even more then her. And he didn't have any fear of people, or awful memories of that land.
"Aloha awakae!" Akiru cried hoping that the soquili who had first shouted would hear ad come over. The he could once again see someone from his home. Maybe he'd miss it less if he could only talk to someone about it. Kuu never wanted to talk about home. It was too painful and sad. And he understood that and never pressured. But maybe if he could just talk to someone.
Kulasi froze when she heard Aki return the greeting. She was going to protest but sighed instead when she realized he had a desperate note to his greeting. She resigned her self to interacting with another soquili not wanting to hurt Akiru any more then her leaving home did.

The smile across the blue stallions maw only widened as a greeting came in reply to his own. It had been a good thing that he had stopped to see where the voice had come from for it seemed that he had managed to pass whoever it was already! He quickly turned around and set off in the direction that the voice had come from, making haste so as to not keep the being waiting. The voice had not been the same, but that mattered very little to Kileona. It didn't matter to him who had responded, simply that someone had responded - someone was open to having company and that was all that mattered. Though Kileona knew that he had a quickened pace so as to not keep the voice waiting, he did not notice his light trot turn into a canter, and then to a gallop. It didn't consciously register in his mind that the greeting he had received was not of the customary fashion of this land, but instead of that of his own homeland. Though not a conscious realization the excitement and anticipation was clearly evident in his movements and actions.
It was a moment before he reached a grove of trees and shrubbery so dense it created a wall of sorts. In winter time Kileona assumed that one could squeeze their way through the branches to the other side with a little effort - but in spring... Kileona pranced back and forth for a moment, unable to keep still as he looked the barrier over for any entrance or way to get through. Finding none he decided to circle the enclosure. If there was a place of true shelter from the elements this would certainly be it, and thus this Had to be where the reply greeting had come from. Briskly he circled until a break in the wall revealed itself. He paused for a moment, not wanting to burst forth into the wrong area. Instead he took a few steps forward, leaning in through the entrance and peeking about to see who the owner of the voice may be. "Is it really that late in the morning?" He questioned with a lighthearted smile.

Akiru's eyes brightened when the stallion finally found his way threw the bushy barrier. He took in that was familiar, the mask and neckless, the markings so similar to many others. A little piece of home in a place so far away from it. "I believe it is, even with such thick clouds it can be hard to tell. My internal clock tells me it is." he chirped in response. So excited, so happy to meet someone from the same land.Kuu barely looked up her eyes hidden by her thick bangs. She looked him over too, well everything below his face she didn't want to risk looking at his face. And at the sight of the markings on his shoulder she tensed and relaxed at the same time. The familiarity of home made her remember her childhood, the good and the bad. So she looked away but didn't forget her manners. "Aloha, E Komo mai." She said as the appropriate greeting and welcoming of her childhood people, a phrase that now sounds foreign and weird. She has not spoken like that in so long. Rejecting her past as an attempt to not relive the pain of it. But she said no more, and hoped that the dark stranger would spend him time talking to Aki rather then her.
