Kadryn and Kirosh were stopping by a small village to restock. Kadryn went into the Orderite town to buy stuff while Kirosh went hunting in the woodlands around. After finishing her shopping she wandered by a smithy and slowed down… maybe she should pick up some armor. They were after all about to go out and try to hunt down some of the larger more dangerous creatures and armor would be nice. Maybe it’d be a good gift for Kirosh too! Decided she walked into the smithy and got greeted by a rude gravelly voice.

“Yarsish, ye lazy fool, I need the bellows pumped! The fire's too low.”

“Uh... I’m not Yarish, but I can help” She said after looking around and spotting no one else int eh smithy.

“I guess my lazy apprentice is missing? Be a friend and pump the bellows would ye? I'll help ye once I finish this sword.”

“Sure.” Kadryn was no stranger to a smithy, her father worked in one after all! And bellow pumping had been a chore she’d been given to build her muscles up whens he was younger.

After she helped him, he sits back and sighed. "Perhaps I can ask ye for a favor? I have an order of swords to get done but as ye can see, my apprentice is missing. If ye help me, I can offer ye a reward."
Kadryn smiled and shrugged out of her leather coat and put h
er bag and mace off to the side.
“I don’t mind helping. My father was a smith so I know some of the basics.”

“Oh was he? That’ll be a good thing than. Maybe I’ll actually get this order done in time!”

The rest of the afternoon she helped him, the work was hot and hard and she was exhausted by the end. It’d been some years since she’d actually done anything in a smithy after all! But she knew what to do and was able to help speed things up.

“Well, thank ye lass! I actually managed to get the work done. No thanks to that lazy wlep of an apprentice.”

“Maybe you should get a new apprentice? If he’s not doing the work. That’ll just slow you down and you’ll lose customers.”

He sighed and nodded. “May have too. He’ my nephew though so I thought I’d give him a chance but yer right. Gonna be a pain to break it to my Sis though! But ‘nough of that. I promised ye a reward!” He waved her over to the forge. “Let me show ye how to make some armor. I’ll give ye some iron to help you do it too. Any preferences?” Kadryn grinned, he was going to teach her something! That would be fun indeed!

“Um, how about some bracers?”

“Sure. Ye won’t be able to make this by yerself for a while, but once ye got some skills it should be easy for ye!” He said as he showed her how to mold and pound the metal into bracers.

“Ye take this with ye. I’ve got enough bracers and this can be of use to ye!”

“Ah, that’ll do! I was thinking of getting some armor for Kirosh anyways!” Kadryn said with a happy smile and a wave as she left the smithy with the iron, knowledge and gift.
