Well well. This was certainly interesting and not at all what he had expected given the terrain in the area. An open field of lovely, colorful wildflowers. Probably the first ones of spring, newly opened now that the cooler weather had finally left. The weather overhead seemed to be a bit cloudy like it might eventually start to rain. It was a prospect that suited him just fine, the wash from the falling water would certainly do him some good. Grass and old faded mudstains stood out against his starkly pink coat.

In the meantime while he waited for his impromptu cleaning Allegro would do what he did best, which was tromp around and explore the area. The flowers would make a nice change from underbrush and mud for a while. Being so distracted it didn't occur to him to look for other animals or soquili.

Sorry for the delay!

Spring was certainly in the air, and Ilithyia was absolutely loving it! The flowers were in bloom in this particular meadow, and though the clouds were grey, thick with possible rain, the mare couldn't think of anything better. The first rains of spring would wash away the mud of the land, and help feed those flowers so they might come out in full bloom! Besides, a good rain was rather romantic. . . even if she didn't have any romance at present moment!

Ah, but there were many mares and stallions out there. Many that had their own form of beauty, their own glow, their own light that captivated the mare as much as her most favorite honeysuckle and lilacs! Ah, but how she loved to love. She hated to be alone, but also hated to stick around, and such was the tragedy of her life. Ah, but to the mare, it was no tragedy at all . . . for though her heart was pained by leaving a particular mare or stallion behind, there was always someone else to meet just around the bend.

So it was, the mare picked her way through the flowers, before coming to a halt. There, about a quarter of a mile down, looked to be a soquili! And not just any soquili, but one that was as pink as the prettiest rose! Her eyes brightened with mischief, and before she could even think about the flowers, she quickly trotted over. She was far from a shy mare, and with a small shake of her long, cream mane, the female gave a friendly laugh. "Salutations, stranger!" Her wings stretched in just the right way to show off their pale, transparent colours, and she made a small circle around the stallion, to show off all her best angles.

Most flutters were known to be petite, and while she was small in stature, she was not very small boned. Still, Ilithyia had a healthy dose of self-confidence. She was strong, she was beautiful, and she would do what she could to make sure this stallion knew it. "And here I thought I'd only the flowers for company."

He had been in the process of sniffing and examining flowers, having never quite seen their like before- probably native to this area, he decided. Very sweet smelling too! The pink stallion leaned down again, nosed a blossom and was mid sniff, only to have it come out as a snort of surprise when he heard the laughter behind him. He turned to see what the source of the laughter was but the mare had already started to circle him and show off her assets.

Allegro moved to keep up with her, an action that probably looked a little ridiculous from her view. She was a pretty little thing, made of less in your face colors than himself. And those wings! He had no idea what a flutter was, let alone seen one so they were quite the sight to behold. "Hi." Some small part of his mind knew he probably should have more of a response but his open gawking had pretty much robbed him of any real train of thought for the moment.

Ilithyia laughed delightedly as the stallion began to circle with her, and his response to her approach was precious. She couldn't quite judge an age on the stallion -- was he older, more experience, and simply breathless from her beauty? Or was he young, shy, and uncertain? Maybe a little of both? Either way, her eyes sparkled with mischief and she gave the stallion one last circle, one last shot to see her, before she stopped.

"Salutations, handsome," she greeted cheerfully in return, not at all put off by his gawking, or his short greeting. He still acknowledged her, and that was already a good thing. Blowing some of her long, crea mane out of her eyes, the mare beamed up at the pink stallion. My, but was he ever bright of coat! Up close, his pink was absolutely stunning, and she could even pick out the gentlest swirls and shapes of a faint, paler pattern on his legs. There was something lovely all around in the male, with his curled mane and tail, and she had absolutely no trouble admiring him.

"It isn't everyday I find such a stunning stranger next to my dinner," she laughed again, absolutely amused. "But I could think of worse things. Come to admire the flowers, or seek out a tasty snack yourself?" She questioned, tilting her eyes with curiosity. While Ilithyia preferred to sup on the pollen, there were a few sweeter flowers she enjoyed nipping at when in season, and of course, the neighboring grasses.

In his case it was honestly a bit of both. He was older, yes, but he was also not really sure about how to behave around attractive mares. Allegro kept following as she circled, not stopping until she stopped moving too. "A bit of both. Pretty flowers and sweet grass." It was truthful, traveling and tromping around in the field had made him a bit hungry. Still an attempt at manners certainly couldn't hurt. He made a little sheepish noise and tapped his hoof in a bashful manner. The gesture probably made him look like an overgrown colt. "Pretty company too."

"My name is Allegro. What's yours?" Names first. Everything else afterward.

Ilithyia's delight in this pink coated stallion was obvious. The way in which he tried to follow her as she circled, the way in which he seemed almost bashful to look at her, much less speak to her -- it was adorable! Absolutely, positively, adorable. So it was, the mare's butterfly wings fluttered happily and her orange eyes glittered with amusement and delight. Oh, how she loved meeting new individuals -- and such a handsome stallion at that!

With the way his curls framed his neck, and the pink blush on hhis cheeks, and the subtle designs on his legs -- he was quite the handsome sort, if she did think so herself. And such a coat color! So vibrant. So it was, the mare gave another playful laugh and bowed her head, as a good mare might. "Well," she added with a coquettish smile, "It isn't often I find myself in such vibrant and handsome company." Her words were sincere, and if she did let her gaze linger appreciatively over the stallion, it couldn't be helped.

Ilithyia did so love the world, and all of those she got to meet. She was no demure flower, and she didn't expect others to be, either. Still, she'd keep herself toned down . . .for the moment. "It's very good to meet you, Allegro," and she tested the name upon her lips and found it sweet. "My name is Ilithyia, and I hope you find the grasses to your liking." Among other things.

"I'm sure I will." Her attention managed to embarrass him and yet make him feel a bit giddy at the same time. Given enough time the later might very well overwhelm the former and he could become acceptable company. Mares rarely ever paid him any sort of special attention so this was kind of a big deal as far as he was concerned.

"Ilithyia..." A nice sweet and delicate sounding name. It suited her nicely. "So this is your home?" Might as well make an attempt at actual conversation so he did not seem quite so awkward.

Overhead thunder rumbled in the distance, signaling that the rain was finally on its way.

Ilithyia was certainly pleased to have such company this afternoon, and the pink stallion was a good distraction from what otherwise would have been a lonely afternoon. Not that the flutter couldn't handle being alone -- for she often was during her travels! -- but she certainly loved the idea of spending some time with another. Any attention was good attention, as far as the Ilithyia believed, and she most certainly wanted Allegro's at this very instant.

When the pink stallion asked whether or not this was her home, the rainbow winged mare couldn't help but laugh once more. She didn't blame the stallion for thinking such a thought -- so many soquili lived in a single place all their life, it was a safe bet to assume as much! But not Ilithyia -- never her! The young mare gave a shake of her head. "I have no home," she stated matter-of-factly for it was the truth. Unlike others, though, the mare did not begrudge this truth, and actually relished it. "The world is my home, and I roam it; inch by inch, step by step, flower by flower. I go where the wind takes me, and most recently, it has lead me here. What about you, stranger?"

She took a moment to lean her head down, to sniff at the flowers, before beaming back up at the stallion. "Clearly, we're meant to be rained upon, in a field of glorious flowers... Unless you'd rather find somewhere else to be?" She arched a delicate brow, tilting her head to see what the stallion might prefer.

And in Allegro's mind Ilithyia was well worth paying attention to, so he would be more than pleased to give her what she wanted...even if it was probably a very naive thing to do. He was simple enough to figure out, assuming she had not already: she was pretty, interesting, plus she seemed to like him and that automatically made her alright in his book even if she had not turned out to be trustworthy. At least in this case his "logic", thankfully, had worked in his favor. It not always end up so well but living in the moment was his primary concern so the thought never really occurred to him.

Most he ran into seemed to live in one place so he was slightly surprised to learn that she did not. His ears perked and he cocked his head to the side, his expression shifting to a considering one when she returned the question. "I had a home when I was small. I do not find myself back there often now though." Not much reason to since the rest of his remaining family was rarely, if ever, there. They traveled like he did. "I like your way of putting it though. I may use that sometime." Well, except maybe the bit about the flowers. Assuming she did not mind of course...

"No, I do not mind the rain at all..." Allegro figured he would be able to stand being out in it at least as long as she did or until the storm got too dangerous to be out in for either of them. If need be there were plenty of places to find shelter under the trees that could easily accommodate both of them. "I could probably use the cleaning anyway." He snorted in amusement and lifted a front hoof for her to see a bit more clearly. His fetlocks were tinted with mud, grass and who knew what else. "Besides, the rain feels nice...until it is coming down in basket fulls anyway." Thunder almost never bothered him and lightning did not until it came too close. To him it was all fascinating to watch and experience.

"Guessing the rain is not a bother for you either?" He asked even though she seemed almost at home in it as the first of the drops started to fall, especially among the flowers they were idling in. Once the rain got going steadily Allegro found himself tracing the path of the droplets on his companion's wings with his eyes as they made their way along until they dripped off into the grass. It took a little while to register the fact that he was technically staring again and he made it a point to shift his gaze elsewhere but not without a repeat of his completely embarrassed expression that seemed to amuse her the first time.

Ilithyia was pleased that her companion seemed to find her interesting. Oh, how the mare loved such attention! To find herself under the gaze of another, to find herself in happy conversation, and to know that they found themselves pleased by her presence was what she lived for! There were so many new experiences to be had, so many new friends she could potentially make, so many things she could feel, taste, and experience. How could she possibly wish to live in one spot forever? How could she possibly yearn for the same, mundane experiences day in and day out? She couldn’t! There was too much out there for the mare to idle her life away on one patch of grass, and Allegro’s company confirmed it! She was pleased he seemed of like mind-enough to appreciate her turn of phrase. “Oh, by all means, go ahead and use it. I’m glad to inspire,” she laughed again, giving her tail a happy swish, even as she pranced once more around the stallion. “It isn’t often I meet such like-minded individuals. . . Are you simply roaming to roam? Or are you headed somewhere particularly?” She questioned, curious to know how long their paths might cross this day. She wouldn’t mind lingering some, especially if the stallion continued to look at her the way he did.

She liked that.
She liked that a lot.

In fact, Ilithyia’s entire driving force wasn’t just the scenery, but all the strangers she met that could stand a little company. She was a hedonist in every sense of the word, and while she knew her choices were easily judged by strangers or those a bit more conservative, Ilithyia couldn’t help herself. She liked the company of strangers, male or female, and a little fun never hurt anyone. She never asked them to stay, never stayed herself, and never led them on.

Who knew? Perhaps Allegro and she could come to be better friends down the road. It wouldn’t be something she’d mind. “Ah, there’s nothing about you I’d change,” she stated with a warm laugh, even as she looked down at his dirty hooves. “Those are the hooves of someone who roams, who has put miles beneath them. I certainly approve, though, I suppose there can be much to be said about cleanliness, too. The rain does feel nice, and to have the dust of the road off our coats lets us show off the sheen beneath.” She had a healthy black and white coat, and she couldn’t help but admire the stranger’s vibrant colors. “I don’t mind the rain if you don’t. So many run and hide from it, but I’d much rather play.” Giving a little laugh, she circled Allegro once more, before letting her tail brush against him. “No sense in wasting the day away huddled under some tree. Not when there’s a world to explore, or other experiences to be had.”

((She’s terrible. D: I’m sorry.))
