The Pokémon Center is a facility for weary travelers and their Pokémon to rest after a long day's journey. It is run by Nurse Joy and her faithful Pokémon assistants, Chansey and Audino. There are plenty of rooms for the travelers to rest upstairs on the second floor, as well as a cafeteria if they're hungry. There are also PC's, video phones and even a trade center for anyone to use if needed.
Laram opened the doors of the Pokemon Center and became immediately annoyed. He was annoyed because behind the counter sat another nurse who looked exactly like the one in Blume Town. She had the same fake smile too. But he shrugged it off and walked up to the front desk. He needed a place to stay the night."Good Evening, how can I help you? It doesn't look like your team needs any healing.""No, they're okay. I was hoping to get a room for the night. But in the last town, they allowed me to work to pay for it. Is that possible here?""We just so happen to have an opening this evening. Since you've done this before, I don't need to explain anything do I?" Laram nodded his agreement. He didn't want to be around the creepy robot? lady any longer than he needed to. She led him to the janitor's closet and gave him the chart.
It was late, but Laram wasn't going to complain about a free room. There were five rooms that needed managing. Plus, one of the treatment rooms needed some work the following morning. Laram sighed and pushed the cart to the first room. Once inside, Shadow and Zeus already knew what to do. But Laram's Bunnelby, who hadn't really done anything except follow Laram all day, just stood there."Right....Wow, I'm an idiot. You don't even have a name yet. Would you like one?"The tiny jackrabbit shrugged it's ears and stared at his new trainer. It seemed very mild tempered. Not compared to Laram's other two Pokemon. Seemingly, as if to emphasize the point, Laram heard a crash from the bathroom. After investigating, Shadow had pulled the shower curtain off the rack and it was all over the floor. Laram sighed and shook his head as he came back into the main part of the room."Well, you seem pretty cool. I knew this cool guy once. His name was Jack. Plus, you're a rabbit. How's that?"Jack, as he was now called, shook his head in agreement and began helping Laram organize the room. With his whole team on it, the rooms were done rather quickly. After getting his room key, Laram and his team went to bed.
Laram yawned and looked down at the three small creatures sharing the bed with him. He couldn't believe how his life had changed ever since he made the decision to leave the Hoenn Region to find his family. This was now his third day in the region and so much had already happened. He had more money in his pocket than he ever did before. Plus more coming when he finished the job. He cursed himself for not thinking of becoming a trainer sooner. They had it made. He gingerly got out of bed, being careful not to wake any of his new partners up. He was going to let them sleep and he was going to take care of the treatment room himself. Putting his shirt back on, he walked out of the room and down the hall. The cafeteria was serving breakfast, and he couldn't help but follow the smell. As he approached the food, he could see three portly women handing it out."How much is it?"
"For you honey? No charge. We saw you workin' last night. Why don't you take this and enjoy it. Come back before you leave and we'll make sure to pack some food up for you and your Pokemon." "Well uh...thank you."Laram didn't know what to say. He'd never been treated so nicely before in his life. Perhaps the new region just had better people than Hoenn. Either way, he wasn't going to say no to free food. They were out anyway. They even gave him enough to feed his Pokemon. He ate his food with a smile on his face and cleaned up the treatment room rather quickly. After retrieving his pay, Laram walked back to his room."Alright guys, time to wake up. I brought you guys some breakfast. After you eat, we're leaving."Laram opened the door and caught a three-way brawl happening. Although, not so much a three-way as Zeus and Shadow desperately trying to muscle their way past Jack's ears. But they weren't budging. The jackrabbit was quite strong, and it surprised Laram a little bit. He didn't look like he was buff."Come on you guys. Time and a place, remember?"At his words, the trio separated and followed him back to the main lobby area. While they were eating, Laram retrieved the provisions he was promised and stored them in his pack. There was three nice sandwiches, and some Pokefood for his team. Laram had seen it before, but never had the money to get it for Zeus. But according to the nice ladies, it was the perfect nutrition for his team. He thanked them for everything and left the Pokemon Center with his team.
As soon as Tori got to King Town, the first thing on the list was the local Pokemon Center, to ensure that both of his Pokemon, and his egg were in tip-top condition. Upon bringing the fox and saggy-pants'd little guy into the center, Tori did as he normally did, and walked up to the counter, proceeded to pose, and then placed both Maji and Kita on the counter, as well as his egg that had yet to shake a lot yet. He grinned, placing his arms around himself, and pointed opposite their sides, as the nurse proceeded to take his Pokemon, and egg, give them proper inspections, and make sure they were doing okay.
Once finished, Kita was just given a bandage on his left hand, and Tori, patting the guy on the head, make a smirk, as he laughed. Taking his mons and egg up to the cafeteria, he assorted a pile of vegetables and fruits together, and began to eat them, while grabbing some food for his Pokemon. A healthy lunch would be had today, dammit. By all of them.
"You hear 'bout dem Rockruff near Nix?" said one boy to another.
"I 'ere they turn into something special, Charlie. Why?" another boy noted.
"I'ma get me one o'em." the boy named Charlie said, with a grin.
All the while, Maji and Kita looked to Tori's face, and the biggest smirk was on his face. A Rockruff, eh? Sounds like a perfect target for the executioner of midngiht to enter into the scene. Tori could feel his nerves shaking with excitement. For now, they'd take an hour to rest. But soon? Oh yes.... they would go there. That was the next goal.
Laram pushed open the doors of the Pokemon center with a level of exhaustion he had not felt in a very long time. Spending all day underground in such grueling labor had left the trainer feeling as if he had just skipped eating for a week. He was starving, and ready to get some sleep. As the air conditioning of the local Pokemon center brushed against his dry, dirty skin, Laram shivered at the stark contrast in temperature. Usually being underground meant that it was automatically cooler. But with all of the mining equipment, Pokemon, and humans working, it was actually quite warm in the mine. Laram could tell that his Pokemon were tired as well. Working all day, and then dealing with that massive Steelix had certainly put a strain on their bodies. He knew that they all needed attention. Especially Steelix. So Laram approached the counter and placed his Pokemon's capsules on it. As the nurse smiled, her robotic smile, she paused as she got to Laram's newest Pokemon."Oh my. Some of the local men had informed us that a Steelix went on the loose in the mine today. What a funny coincidence."Laram corrected the nurse."That's not a coincidence. That's the Steelix that went berserk. They hired me to deal with it."The woman gasped."You must be quite the trainer then, Steelix are known for being very aggressive when their territory is encroached upon.". The trainer thanked her for her praise, and her aid, and cleaned up the waiting room a bit before going to bed. When the morning arrived, he retrieved his Pokemon and the Net Ball Baldur found, and left the Pokemon Center, heading for the mine again. There was more money to be made there with his new Explorer's Kit.
