Character name: Inoke Nalu
Link to journal AND/OR Quest Thread: [x]
Describe your character's personality in less than 30 words: Happy-Go-Lucky surfer boy
Does your character have a ship/ OTP? He has a crush on Arland Essex but hasn't told anyone about it. He hasn't met enough others to ship anyone together
Describe your character if they were a vegetable: Cucumber, Long and Green and with a fresh crunch
What is your character's favourite music/ song/ piece? He prefers instrumental stuff. Not necessarily classic music though.
What is your character's hobby, if they had spare time? Surfing
Is your character more arts, science, or sports inclined? Sports. Fresh air and sunshine is good for you.
What type of personality traits does your character gravitate towards? He usually goes for people who are a little less 'bouncy' than him, people who he hopes he can make happier
What are your character's personality traits (Good ones?) He's bubbly and usually happy. Sees the bright side of things and tries to be as helpful as he can. He's determined and refuses to give up no matter the odds.
What are your character's personality flaws? He's attention greedy, can be superficial and doesn't make close friends.
What is your character's favourite colour? Blue-green
Describe your character if they were in the opposite faction: He'd probably be a warlock. Ability to manipulate the elements, summoning little elemental creatures to do his bidding.
What would your character look like as the opposite gender OR 10 years into the future? As a girl Inoke would look much the same. Thin athletic body, no curves what so ever. His face would be a little softer but still sharp cheeks. He'd probably put his hair in a braid more than a ponytail. Put him/her in a t-shirt and jeans and you probably couldn't really tell the difference.
If your character was an Amityville Professor/ Division Leader/ Horsemen Clans lead how would they teach others? He'd be very hands on. Practical demonstrations and probably hurting himself in the process.
Who does your character look up to? His father. Inoke's father worked hard to make sure he could take care of his family but was always there when someone needed them. He taught all the kids how to surf and make sure that no matter how much he had to work he took them out on weekends to be a family.
What is a great weakness of your character? Things having to do with how he lost his sisters can render him useless. If he ever ran into a fire creature he'd be absolutely terrified and probably so overwhelmed he'd be useless.
What are their favourite foods? Fruit. He loves the way that fresh fruits have that wonderful juicy sweetness when you bite into them.
Favourite fashion style? Relaxing it's board shorts. Daily life before he was a hunter involved skinny jeans, converse and t-shirts.
Favourite minipet? He's not allowed to have Minipets. But when he helps feed the ones they have for training and study he does like the pucks.
If your character was in a fantasy novel who would they be? The goofy sidekick whos constantly getting into things they're not supposed to.
Describe your character as a mythical creature: Inoke would be a merman. Long shark tail (thresher shark), sleek body built for speed.
Describe your character as a Disney princess and/ or Villain Pochantas and yes he -can- paint with all the colors of the wind. BTW, Arland is totally Meeko (don't tell Tividar he's a hummingbird)
If your character could travel anywhere where would they go? Australia. He's always wanted to surf there.
If your character could confess one great secret what would they confess? The only real secret he's got now is his crush. Which he's never telling because Arland is completely obviously not interested and he values their friendship too much.

Crush

Christmas used to be one of the best times of year and now all he was going to be able to think about, probably for the rest of eternity, was Arland in nothing more than a pair of goofy christmas boxers. He didn't know why Land had thought that was acceptable for the party or why he couldn't get the image out of his mind.

It wasn't like he could do anything about it either. Land wasn't interested, probably would never be, and he wasn't going to ruin the good thing he'd gotten. They were friends. They could joke and hang out and worked pretty well together.

Which was good.

Then Arland would do something stupid like wear those boxers or strip down when it rained or not be completely dressed when he went to go get him for chores in the morning and it just made things worse. He'd laugh or smile or make some stupid a** joke or do something stupid (you wouldn't believe how often that happened) and he was just ******** all over again.

Which was bad.

Sure he'd had crushes before, There'd been a guy on the swim team at school and he was pretty sure he had a crush on a kid in his math class in middle school but he hadn't paid much attention to that. None of those crushes were as obnoxious as this though.

It wasn't even like he had really good reasons for it. Which was probably in the definition of a crush somewhere but whatever.

Plus side was he knew he had it bad and at least if he knew he could tell himself it was just a stupid crush.

Nothing more...

Cutthroat

Fighting was becoming almost like second nature to him now. Every day was filled with training, some filled with attacks by strange creatures and others finding him tearing though strange places trying to survive. He’d never really thought himself much of a fighter before though and still sometimes had a hard time imagining that he would ever be so.

There were others though, those he’d met on the island, who fit the bill easily. Others who looked like they’d been born to fight, born to win no matter the cost in the end. He could remember his first real fight against another hunter. The tournament between hunters which he hadn’t lasted long in but which had been an eye opener.

The first man he’d fought against reminded him of the mercenaries you saw in old movies. Those who wouldn’t ever seem to go down no matter what you threw at them or how hard you threw it. It had been amazing to see and it still made him proud that in the end he’d come out on top. During the fight he’d been convinced that the other hunter would be willing to slice him to ribbons to win and had almost thought it was happening.

Taym would be one to watch. One to stay on the good side of too

Hero

When he was six he’d stolen a blanket out of the laundry, tied it around his neck, and ran around the house proclaiming he was Superman. He’d saved his mother from the wicked monster in the garden which had just been the hose she was watering plants with. His father had been rescued from the evil overlord, or his boss’s, clutches by being drug out to the living room to hold him up so he could fly. The family cat had been whisked to safety from the clutches of the nefarious vacuum.

He’d been the savior of everything that day.

It was the last time he’d ever been called a Hero.

Soon enough it had all turned dark. Instead of the dashing knight in shining armor he was the coward who’d run away at the first sign of trouble. He was the villain who’d left innocents to be devoured. He was the one that people should be saved from.

He’d tried to tell himself that wasn’t true, that he’d done everything he could. Tried to show them the scars of his fight but all they saw were the marks of a coward.

Then a stranger had given him another chance. A way to right the wrongs, defeat the beast. Only … no one would ever know.

He still wouldn’t get to be Superman again.

Insanity

Sometimes he lay awake at night and remembered the giant creature that had come out of the ocean. How it crawled out of the darkness and up toward their homes trying to bringing a slimy end to everything they hoped to accomplish. The sounds it made and the terror in everyone’s voice as Hunters new and old were called to arms to defend their home.

He could remember the sound of the buildings crashing as it crushed them under its feet, how everyone was screaming and shouting as they tried to defend the school and what few luxuries they had, how for a moment it had seemed like everything was just going to come to an end there. With his eyes closed he could see the ones who’d been eaten still covered in the almost glowing ooze.

Everyone on the island knew Nightmares were true but he knew in a way that was a lie. Nightmares couldn’t compare to his very own memories now. Nightmares were a reprieve from his reality now. Nightmares would have run in terror from the beast that had crawled onto Deus Island.

He could remember what everyone called it ... how they said there were more.
