She had quite the conundrum in her mind.
Radley knew that she had to stop thinking about what was and what could have been. She knew she was stuck in the past, but her mind couldn't wrap around the fact that they were still gone.
She felt raw, but she also knew that she had to move on.
Sometimes she ignored her partner, Eilissandra. But other times... she knew that what the spidren told her was true. She couldn't linger on the past forever, but she could use it to shape who she wanted to be.
Who she wanted to be, however. was still a mystery. Who did she want to be?
It was quite the dilemma.

Radley hadn't always felt divided.
Before, she was carefree, and didn't have much to worry about. The trip down the stairs and seeing her parents dead on the floor, died of fright... that wasn't something she had ever expected.
Sure, she'd seen things that she knew no one else could see, and she felt things that no one else could feel. However, she still hadn't expected things to happen as they did.
She could be one of two people: she could be Radley, the girl who couldn't quite speak up for herself and could be the quiet mouse in the corner, or she could be Fedora, the Hunter who didn't wear her heart on her sleeve and took chances and opportunities where they arose.
Eilissandra was quiet on this matter, and didn't comment further when asked. It frustrated Radley a little bit, but she soon grew into her usual habits; burying herself in her books of fairy tales, sitting in the corner and shutting out the world.
She didn't want to be divided and make choices. Not yet. She would, for the meantime, remain divided.

The memories always made her cry.
Despite her being adopted, she always loved being around her parents, and cherished every moment of being with them - even if she hadn't realized that she was cherishing every moment during the time she was with them.
Returning to the memories was hard, but she forced herself to relive them, and always ended up in tears. Eilissandra never understood, the spidren cold every time she talked about them. Radley felt that she didn't really care, and also felt that the spidren wanted her to move forward and forget about them... but it wasn't that easy. She relished the memories, and the time spent making those memories.
And now she was the only one left.
Yet again, she returned to think about them. A downward spiral of emotional masochism.

It had taken some time, but Eilissandra had finally talked some sense into the girl.
It would take quite a bit of time yet, which frustrated the spidren to no end, but she would have to find a balance for the girl that would work somehow.
At least Radley was out trying to be social now, instead of cooped up reading her books. There was only so much satisfaction one could get out of fairy tales. Especially the same ones. If Radley had asked, there were tales Eilissandra could weave together to impress the girl, but the thought had never occurred to the young hunter.
It puzzled the spidren.
Balance was key, and the spidren would work as hard as she could to make the girl understand. Balance was everything, and it would be a healthy comparison to what the girl was doing now. All they needed was time.

Radley stared at the ceiling, her hands clenched into fists. She had put her weapon in the corner of her room, angry with Eilissandra at how hard she had been pushing her, and also angry at herself for multiple reasons she didn't want to name.
She wanted to be comfortable. She didn't want to come out of her shell, and didn't want to go outside of her comfort zone. Radley had no choice, and she knew it, but it made her mind feel as if it was on fire, and she was unable to cope as fast as she wanted to.
She felt like she was going crazy.
Standing up and pacing around her room, she placed her hands behind her back and forced herself to think. There was no way out of her current predicament - death was permanent, and this was the only way she could protect herself. Even Eilissandra had promised her undying loyalty, and had admitted the girl fascinated her.
But why? Radley was no one special, and winced as she inwardly heard Eilissandra berating herself for calling herself nothing special. It was a trigger reaction now, but it was working on the girl - she was being forced to realize that she was an asset. She just needed the training.
In the meantime, it was chaotic, for both her and the spidren. But with time, both of them knew they would overcome the chaos. Radley knew that she needed Eilissandra. But did Eilissandra need her?
Chaos. Her mind was on fire, and it felt like it was just becoming hotter. With every question she answered, five more seemed to slide into place.
Chaotic questions? Chaotic answers. It never seemed to end.
