          Who: Tatiana, Troxel, and Zeke
          When: March 2nd; around 4pm
          Where: Lab 305
Weather: Crisp and cool; sunny but the snow that's on the ground isn't going anywhere just yet

Sitting wasn't an option for Zeke. There was a buzz in the air that emanated from the raver as a source, the likes of which came about on certain randomly placed days out of every year. Today was no ordinary day. Today was the day a Raevan was born.

And she was not just any Raevan, no no. The femme waiting down the hall was the ward of one Harrison Troxel, a man whom Zeke thought quite well of. The pilot had been in Zeke's good books since their first meeting, and subsequent interactions and the occasional phone call had only hammered that opinion home. It had been several months since the pilot's Soul Glass and Essence had been returned to the Lab via Zeke visiting the man's abode. Several long months of having seen the Hamsa rapidly grow to an almost fully developed Frei and then suddenly halt. It was almost as if she had been teasing everyone with that, and the thought made the corner of Zeke's smile quirk a little as he remembered. As he did so, he pivoted on his sneaker-clad heels and started the brisk speed-walk back across the Lab.

He couldn't sit down, his legs were too restless for that. It was all he could do to not go running down the street looking for Trox's Avalon even though he knew full well the pilot was on his way. The phone call he had made to the older man had been a blast of words that hadn't lasted more than a minute or two at the most. Trox was certainly on his way, but with how the world was humming with unseen electricity, the other man could NOT get here fast enough!

"Whaddya mean, she's ready?" Camille asked, leaving no short temper out from the creasing facial features. Harrison had little time for any attitude thrown by the small cajun. Camille had been made aware of Raevan's, he'd been made aware of Harrison's raevan in particular. He's been caught up on every story and yet he was still sour faced in the beaming glory that was Harrison Reed Troxel. He'd all but jabbed his thumb through the call end button once Zeke had hung up. This was his day, a new day. The crazy haired Raevan's day he'd peered through the glass during the holiday party. And in the month of March too. What was it? In like a Lion out like Lamb?

Perfect. Ferocious beginning to the start of a new season. Where the cold wouldn't sit in his bones and the days began to lengthen. This was a good omen- dead sacred bird or no.

"No seriously. Y'make her sound like she's a pie ready t'come outta d'oven, Trox," Cam continued, eyes cast down towards the tall glass of sweet tea. Harrison rolled his eyes and patted Camille's back. "Sides, her room's all sorts of bare and old man lookin'..."

"Hush your tongue, Moore," Harrison said in mock offense, "My interior design technique hasn't faded in the last twenty years."

"Yer right," the cajun stated, giving Troxel the deadest of panned faces, "Y'still decorate like a private in basic."

Harrison barked out a laugh and shook his head. He slid on his knee brace and dug around his his pockets insuring that wallet and keys were present. His fingers drifted back, lifting the tail of his shirt and he easily released his 9mm from the holster. Today he'd bend the rules, absolutely no reason to bring a weapon into the birthing of a new Raevan. He wondered then if Doe would approve of this new mentality. Maybe he was good for this guardian and dad thing.

Adrenaline made the ache of his less than recent surgery disappear, his fingers tingle and his throat work on holding back errant hums and happy sighs of anticipation. This was it, on the eve of winters passing. He moved to his bedroom, locking away his firearm and gently pulled the computer from it's temporary spot on his side table.

"Camille," He shouted down as he trotted down the stairwell, eventually plopping the machine in front of the former medic and opening the screen, "Do things- something a girl might like? I don't know. Save the pages or whatever you do."

"So you admit it," Cam wasted no time to open a web browser, cringing at the use of internet explorer and making Firefox his number one download priority, "You suck at making homes."

"Hey now," Harrison said, moving towards the door, fleece partway on his shoulders, "I'm challenged, ok? We'll go with challenged. I'll be back!"

--

Harrison hadn't needed to complete a three point turn in order to effectively park in a near vacant parking lot- not since he was 15. Today was a different story but he had absolutely no time to feel embarrassed about it. Nerves and all that. He felt giddy still, his throat still emulating the growth of a prepubescent male due to the spontaneous humming and, dare he admit it, singing along to the radio.... so really it all fit the whole 15 again mentality.

The 2001 toyota avalon, champagne for extra grandpa similarities, was parked. His boots were on the ground and necessities in their respective pockets. It was seriously game time. Harrison moved with commanding determination as he passed through the doors of the clinic, bright smile on his face, creased with laughter lines and that one dimple. His tact was completely lost to the situation and instead of going through the normal process of ringing the bell- unbeknownst to Trox, Zeke was on the far end of his lab spread lap and thus out of sight- he merely called out to the clean confines of the lab.

"Zeke!," friendship softening his rhetorics protocol, "Where my girl at?"

It was a busy day outside, all things considered. Sure, the cooler temps and scattered snow drifts still kept the joggers and idle walkers at bay, but the street was flush with cars going past the Lab's pristine front since Zeke arrived on account of the good news. As such, the arrival of Trox's car was missed, especially thanks to the parking lot being sectioned off on a windowless side of the lobby. When the man strode in, it didn't take the pilot's voice to send Zeke's head turning. The chime on the door was enough.

"TROX!" Zeke's cry was a mix of alarm and delight peppered with a twinge of the haste that was bubbling inside the veterinarian's athletic figure. When he set eyes on the man Zeke took off across the floor at a sprint, his grin luminous across his pierced face. Whether it was the newly waxed floor, the dangling shoelace, or a combination thereof it didn't matter - as soon as Zeke was half way to his much awaited visitor, the vet suddenly went down with his legs flying up from under him.

"Jesus Christ..." He managed just before pulling himself back into a straight sitting position. When he laid eyes on Trox for the second time, the vet couldn't help himself. He threw his arms out wide like a child waiting to be given a bear hug, beaming as hard as ever even though his a** was now sore and knowing he must look every part the oh so competent secretary-slash-part timer he surely was.

"WELCOME TO LAB THREE-OH-FIVE! My name is Zeke and I will be your guide to all the sights and wonders waiting ahead for you!"

Troxel watched the amazing scene play out before him, blackberry in hand with his contact list pulled up, but he was frozen in awe of the disco-ordination Zeke had just displayed. The man's occupation definitely had goaded Harrison into the safe feeling that Zeke was self aware enough to handle a needle pretty effectively. This little display was just extra he guessed.

"Ah, ********! I shoulda recorded that," Harrison said, hand moving to his hat and gripping the side of his head with a barked out laugh, shaking his head, "Y'sure they allow you to play with thousand dollar machines? Maybe you can't be the Vet for my wolfpack... "

Harrison merely shook his head, and moved over to Zeke, hand extended to help. He wasn't expecting the explicative had definitely taken him back however the man bouncing back up within seconds had him jumping back. His extended hand clapped to his fleece jacket clad chest and and laughed again, regarding the veterinarian with a confused and concerned face.

"You hit your head down there are somethin'? C'mon, Zeke. Don't pander to me. Take me to the little lady~ Glowing belly and all..."

"We'd have over a million hits on Youtube if you had! Ah well, better luck next time!"

Zeke took the hand offered to him and pulled himself to his feet. Giving the other man's appendage a firm squeeze in both welcome and thanks, Zeke nodded in affirmation. "Oh yeah man! And at my full time job they trust me with needles and medicine and being wrist deep in innards." The smile he wore hadn't faded an instant and now that Zeke was back on his feet the veterinarian was bouncing on his heels once more.

"Head no, a** yes." He laughed along with the pilot and was unable to stop from raising a pierced brow at the other man's haste. "Eager much? Not even so much as a how-do-you-do!" It was clear he was teasing even if the sunny grin and bouncy movements of the shorter man had not been so apparent. Clapping a hand against Trox's back, Zeke gestured in the direction of his desk and the door at the back of the lobby that would lead to the waiting Frei. "If you will just follow me, good sir. We can leave all that paperwork crap for after!"

Despite saying that Zeke didn't second guess grabbing Trox's file off his desk as he lead the other man across the rest of the lobby. Mercifully on Zeke's end, the trip was fall free. After the two men passed through the glass door into the hallway, Zeke pulled the sticky note on the folder's front off, gave it a once over, and then pointed down the hall.

"Waiting room three. It's that one right before the cafeteria." He led the march. "While we walk lemme fill you in on a Lab tradition. I haven't seen your girl since before she came out of the tank. I know as much about her as you do, which is she's a she and she's got hair that would make Rapunzel jealous." A chuckle left him at the latter half of his statement. Even in his own haste he could still make a funny! "I'm gonna knock on the door to let her know we're here then when I open the door, you go on in first. She's your kiddo, so it's only right you get to see her first. Deal?"

Zeke darted ahead when they neared the room, turning on his toes before settling down on his heels again. His hand went to the door latch, resting upon it without gripping just yet. Not wanting to confuse the Frei inside with multiple voices, the vet gave his companion a poignant look with a c**k of his head to ask if he was ready. Only when the affirmative came did Zeke rap the knuckles of his free hand upon the wooden face of the door and then proceed to press down on the latch and let the door swing inward. As it did so, the vet took a step back from it and once again gestured to the pilot.

"Your move, Trox."

"Y'mean over a million people would watch you eat s**t. I worry about kids these days," Harrison gave a resigned sigh and rolled his eyes as he followed the shorter man. He cleared his throat at the mention of innards and needles and- god the hack, slash and rooting around image he had didn't sit well with the pastrami sandwich he ate earlier. He shook his head laughing.

"Gross, Zeke gross! Stop, no more mentioning of animal innards. Literally makes me feel sick," He snorted and shook his head, "Oh right- Let me do this conversation for us,

"Why hello there, Zeke. How are you?- why I'm feeling totally fabu. Rear end hurts a little bit though. - Riveting, I'm glad I have you as a friend," Troxel halted, grinning at Zeke and raising an eyebrow, "Did I do us justice? I think we're good."

Then the jesting went aside and business took over. The nerves came back. He nodded eagerly and tilted his head, chewing on the edge of his thumb while he took everything in. Go in, meet the girl and hopefully win her over within a span of seconds. He listened back in at the mention of open the door- eyes widening for a second.

"Okay, that sounds good enough I'll just uh-" He quieted at Zeke's maneuver and silent signals. OK- it really was his move now. He moved closer to the door and cleared his throat, looking at Zeke as he called to the Frei inside.

"Hey, are you game for visitors?" He asked, shrugging and looking incredulous waiting for the answer.

---

She hadn't been waiting too long, she supposed, just long enough to wrap her mind around her new surroundings. It was colder out here, pressure densities varied from space to space on an infinite plane of variables- causing air to move over her skin, heat to escape into the air that moved over her skin-- it was so much less homogenous. The tank had provided safety, warmth, and the lulling sound of liquid had definitely been soothing. There were so many new senses- everything was amplified, her fingers were sensitive to the feel of everything. So she'd taken her time, moved about the room and touched everything in sight.

Once that had been completed the Frei had taken to just sitting... Or resting her ruby colored against the chair for some point of contact to define her world axis... and thinking. She'd picked up a nearby book, the second time she had held it- the pages felt nice against her fingertips, and began to read. Madeleine L'Engle certainly had an interesting voice in 'A Wrinkle in Time'. The Frei was fond of it.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door- was she 'game' for visitors? A delicate finger slid between the pages holding her spot as she looked around frantically. Was she? The Hamsa placed the book on the chair behind her and scrunched her nose.

"I think I'm about as 'game' as I can get," Oh wow, so that's what her voice sounded like. Her eyes widened, wings gently extending at the shock of actually hearing herself. Her throat felt as if it was dry, or had something in it. First words she supposed.

She raised a brow, waiting for the deep voice to enter. Curious to see who exactly it belonged to. She tapped a red fingertip to her lips and squinted as the looming pilot stepped into the room. He was huge but scrawny. She chuckled at this. He looked so odd.

"Hi.. uhm.. wow. You're... unique." Troxel started, eyes widening as he tried to take everything in.

"Am I unique, now?" The frei asked, challenging Harrison with a smirk. She straightened her center a bit before crossing her arms over her growing rune, finger tapping her cheek as she considered him, "You're tall in that case."

"Well... That is true...Sorry, I'm just not used to the whole, floating on a ribbon, wings and glowing thing."

"Don't worry, I'm becoming comfortable with the two legged, sparsely decorated, awkward tall 'thing'..." Hamsa retorted, smiling widely at the man. He was nervous and it was charging.

"So.. I'm Harrison. I'm gonna give you a home." The pilot reached forward, holding out a hand. The frei had really no idea how to respond at first, she merely mirrored his hand, grasping it and responding as he shook it. A greeting.

"I must be unique then?" She squinted, chin lifting ever so slightly.

"No, no!" Harrison started, shaking his head, "I mean you can be if you want! I- have some ideas too? Been preparing for you for a while, y'see?"

"Oh. So you're merely called Harrison, and I am unique... " Her eyes darted to his face, "visually. That I wouldn't kno-"

Violet eyes caught sight of a man closer to her in almost everything. She liked him, the jewelry on his face, the colors of his hair. Much more acceptable. She gave a huge smile and waved at Zeke.

"Oh good!" She exclaimed loudly, an accent obviously gripped her voice as if her native language had been Tamil, "You come in adequate heights as well."

Zeke hummed a pleasant note and grinned all the wider as Trox eyed him but then snickered as the pilot gave that tentative call into the room. That was more than different from Zeke's experiences. Some Guardians upon meeting their Frei generally stand breathless and in awe of what they see in the room. Most give a startled and tentative "hello" or "hi" or "hey there". Thus far Harrison was the only one to skip that and ask point blank if his Frei was 'game for visitors'. The sudden awkwardness of the pilot was endearing, but also too goddamn funny!

The vet's snickering would have quickly morphed into laughter because of that if the reply hadn't been so unorthodox. Zeke damn near choked on a chuckle and scrambled to peer into the room and then subsequently around Troxel. When he caught sight of the Frei, his jaw dropped open. Colors, space, feathers, and hair galore - the Hamsa was a striking sight against the paler colors of the waiting room. His smile had faded for a moment in favor of an appropriately shocked expression, but watching her and Trox interact brought it back in full force. The pilot was stumbling and as off guard as Zeke had ever seen him and the Hamsa femme was countering him at every turn with pomp and sass. The laughter he had lost before came back to him now and the raver had to shove his fist to his lips to try and keep it at bay. It didn't work well however, he was soon spotted.

"Well hi!" He waved back to the Hamsa and let himself into the room from there. Striding right up to Trox, Zeke once more clapped the stunned pilot on the back and beamed at both parties all the while. "Welcome to the world, lil' lady!"

The height comment only served to make Zeke chuckle, knowing full well he was dwarfed compared to Trox. Reaching from the other man's back out to the newborn, Zeke extended his hand to her.

"We also come in a fair few colors, shapes, and sizes." He gave her a playful wink. "My name is Zeke. It's nice to finally meet you!"
PostPosted: Tue Mar 11, 2014 5:14 pm

The newborn frei squeezed the hand in front of her, both hands grasping Zeke- thumbs pressing into his palm. Greetings or deal makings- she observed and 'shook' the hand in front of her by moving both hands up and down once, fluttering the teal feathers of her lashes at the raver in curiosity. She liked this one. He had color. A lot more color than Harrison. She'd have to fix that about her new guardian. Her fingers, stained red, released Zeke's hand. She enjoyed his laughter, squinting her eyes and finding herself laughing along with him. It was soft in her raspy throat but it felt nice- warm in her sigel and growing up her bust and to her cheeks. These were probably the best chemicals she's felt in her short time on earth.

""It is great to meet you, Zeke. Thank you for your welcome," Her accented voice adorned a slight sing song tune to it. When she stood, the world went at a slight tilt for a moment. The vertigo was still fresh with her. The humans were quite lucky- what with two feet to plant firmly on the ground. She hovered, her ribbon a fraction away from the tiled floor.

""You both are so warm and smiling! I love this," She called out, wings flapping, her hands out and she all but tumbled towards Harrison.

The pilot was a little less than ready but he managed to gently grip the Hamsa's forearms before too much bodily contact was granted, and he muttered, "Woaaah- ok. We'll work on the balancing thing too."

""I will work on the balancing if you work on your wardrobe," The Frei said, gripping Harrison's forearms in turn and smiling," "You're too earth like, you need more color."

Her violet eyes flicked from Harrison to Zeke, ""Like Zeke here. He has colors. They're still green.. which I am iffy about. The purple, however, is my favorite."

Harrison laughed and shook his head, admiring the stars glinting in the girl's hair. Such long hair. Cam will have a field day with all that hair. He smiled fondly and- jesus did she come with a lot of jewelry. He felt the pre-emptive hit to his bank account and knew there was no use avoiding it.

"So... I have a few ideas of names. However, it's your name after all. Kinda want you to choose it."

She hummed and looked over at Zeke, brows furrowed and squinting once more, ""Can Zeke help us choose a name. I prefer his style to yours"

The Frei was a pretty and well spoken thing, no doubt about that. Trox's loss for words and beleaguered stammering were perfectly rational now that Zeke was in the Hamsa's presence. 'Stunning' was the most appropriate word to describe her, that the vet knew for certain, and it was especially fitting when the Frei suddenly teetered and went falling into her Guardian's arms.

Well that's certainly one way to make an introduction! Zeke reached out to help the star-haired femme up, but Harrison and the Hamsa managed on their own. As he leaned back from the pair, the vet surveyed the two together. The contrast was quite apparent, but the vet was a firm believer in opposites attracting. This only added to his pile of proof.

"Aw, Trox has style! He was just in a rush to get here and see you, that's all." Again he winked, though this one was directed at the pilot. "Wait till you get home and you'll see what I mean." The vet bobbed up and down on the balls of his feet as he spoke. When the Rings Raevan mentioned the green in his hair, Zeke blew a wayward lock out of his face and for a brief moment his luminous grin dipped into a small pout. "Hey I like my green. S'one of my favorite colors!" He reached up and swept his bangs back, revealing a few more eyebrow piercings than were normally seen beneath his thick, dyed hair. "I have been thinking of changing it up a bit though...How do you feel about blue?"

Before he could pose any more ideas about what colors he was thinking of going with, Trox found his voice again after a short peal of laughter. Zeke found himself nodding along with what the pilot said, though again the other man surprised him with how on top of things he was. Usually there was a brief - yet extended - period of interaction before the naming, but the raver found the change of pace refreshing. He was quite fond of uniqueness after all and it was perfectly fitting for this Frei and her guardian.

"Oh! Uh..." Speaking of unique, there was the Hamsa girl's request. Zeke looked between the pair before settling owlishly on Trox, rubbing the back of his neck with his left hand. "Sure, if Trox here is okay with it. I mean...Usually that's a thing between guardians and Raevans but if you guys want a tiebreaker I guess I can do that no problem."
PostPosted: Thu Apr 03, 2014 3:10 pm

Troxel laughed and shook his head glancing over at Zeke and then back to the Frei before him, scrunching his face and rolling his shoulders. He had no style and he knew it. Despite having no style he still managed to look respectable at least 70% of the time. And you know what they say- C's get degrees. He smiled and rolled his eyes a bit.

"I have no style, you're right and don't let him try to fool you," the pilot vocalized, tossing his chin to indicate Zeke while slipping his hands into his pockets.

"Hmmmm. Apparently it's yet to be seen," the frei voiced, smiling and clasping her hands in front of her chest with a clap, "Until then, I'll assume the worst. That way I'll be pleasantly surprised."

"I mean.... It's a farm house. And we've got dogs..." Harrison drizzled off at the end of his thought. The hamsa was wrapped up in the color of Zeke's hair after all. He snorted silently to himself and tilted his head- taking the female in all over again. Pretty.

"I like green- I think. Just maybe a little less... shocking?" She scrunched her nose at the end of that, tilting her head, wings fluttering. She lifted her delicate fingers up, pads drawing over the embellishment to her veil and smiled, "I like blue though.... My wings are blue. And these..." A hand traveled over the feathers surrounding her ear. She smiled brightly and tried to move towards Zeke.

She seemed critically off balance, tottering on an the unfixed point of her rune, both hands splayed out before her. Troxel furrowed his brow- this didn't seem normal-- maybe it was a newborn thing.

"Trox is okay with it, because I am okay with it," she stated, still moving clumsily to the raver, hands gripping his arm, "at least that's the type of person I presume him to be..."

Harrison raised both brows, eyes cast to the floor in consideration and nodded. Easy enough, "I'm fine with it. I do have a few names picked up but only because I think you'll need a jump off point."

As he spoke he pulled the small memoranda book from his pocket and flipped through a few pages, "Let's see here."

"He's just being modest." Zeke jerked his head to the right when Trox vehemently denied his own style, the veterinarian's eyes creasing at the corners with all that good humored mirth he was feeling. When the Hamsa made her own quip, Zeke laughed again. She was proving to be quite the silver tongue and her barbs were as funny as they were snarky.

When the conversation turned back to his hair, Zeke reached up and touched one of the offending green locks. Humming a note, he tucked it behind his piercing-heavy left ear and chuckled. "I like being shocking." Granted his clothing was more muted today than most others with him clad in a snug dark blue t-shirt and black jeans with holes in the knees, but glimpses of the raver's usual eye searing self showed throughout. It was not hard to spot his bright red sneakers with their one green lace and one pink lace, the star-patterned belt keeping his pants in place, and the braces and bracelets that were scattered from his wrists to a stopping point half way up both of his arms. He also had a few rings on his fingers and his cornicello was in its place as well to complete the look. Even though the raver wouldn't consider himself at his most "shocking", he wouldn't be hard to miss in a crowd.

"You're very blue! And red, purple, and gold. You're a motley!" This one was much the same as him in the 'hard to miss in a crowd' respect. Putting aside her noticeable lack of legs, the Hamsa's Essence had colored her in a stunning mix of hot and cold colors. She accented and contrasted herself prettily and Zeke couldn't blame Trox for being blown away. When the Hamsa femme neared him, her wobbling was hardly missed. The vet reached out when she teetered and smiled when she grabbed his arm for balance. Although he was smiling as though amused, behind that he was unsure of her reeling when she moved. Practically all of the Raevans had been steady on their wings from the get go, hadn't they? But then there was always an exception or two to the rules. Regardless, she didn't act as if her lack of balance was affecting her, nor did she seem in pain when she moved which were good signs. Maybe she's more of a baby bird than she seems.

"Well if you're both okay with it," Zeke said with his head turning to Trox to smile at the man, catching the brow furrow in the process as well as the reveal of the little notebook. To the latter, he pointed it out to the Frei. "See? He's been ready for you for a long time!"
PostPosted: Wed Apr 23, 2014 1:58 pm

" Is suppose modesty is a good trait to have," the newborn said, gripping Zeke's shoulder with one hand, fingers delicately wrapped around the crook of his elbow. Whenever she moved it seemed like the horizon wobbled on its axis. Very uncomfortable. She tilted her head and regarded Troxel for a moment longer before giving a small sigh of satisfaction. She gave a small flit of her wings, posing herself in a stronger stature at Zeke's follow on compliment. Motley was also an adequate word.

She was charming, at the very least, Harrison thought to himself. He grinned and shoved his hands back into his pocket, snorting a bit at Zeke and giving a small shake of his head, "It'll be good. Name her something unique while still being within the realms of readability. Yenno? Gorgeous names are only truly beautiful if everyone can pronounce them. Or at least, that's my philosophy."

"I would enjoy a gorgeous name. Zeke is a bit too harsh for me," She looked cautious suddenly before deriving that Zeke himself didn't decide his own name. She gave a small nod before looking to Harrison for a bit more guidance on the matter.

"Oh! Well... Correct me if I'm wrong but his good name is Ezekiel. After an angel or something-" Harrison caught himself, rubbing a forearm, "Or at least I speculate. An angel in a religious text shares the name- it's biblic- "

He stopped before he shoved his foot further into his own mouth, handing Zeke the small book he held in his hand- open to the page with prospect names.

"Yenno, maybe Zeke can explain his own name if he prefers." Harrison finished, crossing his arms and giving the vet a sheepish look.

Upon the page of the notebook in varying styles of ink and pencil were a list of five names. The variation of utensil obviously granted the reader knowledge that Troxel had indeed spent a fair amount of time on this. The names were;

Amelia
Titania
Anabel
Katherine
Elizabeth

a final name marked the page but it was scratched out

"I hear you, Trox, and hey c'mon now, Zeke's not a bad name! Trust me, my actual name is much, much worse." To which Trox guessed right a moment later, not that it was truly that hard to connect the dots. Zeke, however, remained mum on the subject, only wincing slightly when the angel's name floated into the air and descended to name heaven - though the vet would have preferred name hell. When the book was handed to him, Zeke accepted it gratefully with the hand not being balanced upon by the pretty Frei, looking through the list and making glances over to the newborn as he went over each name.

"They're all very pretty," he began with a nod and a hope that pulled the conversation away from his own moniker, noting the scratched out name and regarding the Frei's visage with it. 'Belle' was French for 'beauty' and the adjective surely fit her, but the name itself? He wasn't so sure. It was hardly a common name but someone as uncommon as the Hamsa needed something truly fitting. With the scratch mark, it seemed Troxel had agreed to that idea a long while before. No dice for Belle, except if the Raevan herself took a shine to it. "I think outta these though I like 'Titania' the best. It really sticks out!"

He offered the other two a sunny beam and tilted the notebook so the Rings Frei could see the list for herself. "Want me to read them for you? I think the top one comes in a close second for me, but what do you think, miss?"
PostPosted: Tue Aug 12, 2014 2:26 pm

"Zeke is not a bad name," Harrison acquiesced, leaning back on his heels and giving a light shrug. He'd already given one of the names on his list to his dog. So there was that. He didn't find any holy sanctity in names- they were unique (sometimes) to address people (all of the time). However, the pilot knew he didn't corner the market on 'what makes a name'. He just didn't want to damn his Raevan with something she'd hate. And Zeke brought the additional voice into play. There- he didn't name the hamsa in indifference or after a helicopter and someone else thought it was fitting.

"Titania?" The newborn tried on her tongue, violet eyes seeking Zeke's gaze. She slid them over to Harrison before parting her lips, "I like it, it's pretty, but why did you choose that one?"

"Oh god," Harrison started. He flushed as he embarrassed easy- glancing up at Zeke and holding his hand out for the list, "I've got notes on the other pages- Titania in particular was because of- well, Saturn's largest moon is Titan but that's a bit too masculine and- Titania is like Titan but also fairy queen in a novel. Shakespeare and... poetry."

He looked to Zeke defensively because Shakespeare's plays might have been a hidden passion of his. He was the large burly former special forces pilot but there was no skirting this one. His shoulders hunched and he held his hands out, "Light spring reading- it happens I like books-books are good. Especially if they're crusted old playwrights."

The raevan smiled and looked over the list, drifting closer to the raved out veterinarian. Her wings fluttered slightly as she drifted- feeling cold and light. Everything was still so cold and bright, the spaces were vast and she difficulty balancing. Eventually the hamsa reached a moment of settling, chin resting against Zeke's shoulder as she took the words in.

"Titania- a bit strong on the tongue isn't it?" She mouthed out, her nose crinkled a bit as she worked through the syllables, "It's still pretty but-- a Fairy queen? I don't know if I'd like to be named after a fairy. I don't feel like I'm a fairy."

"You're a Hamsa actually," Troxel offered, rubbing the back of his neck and glancing to Zeke, "Well, soul of a Hamsa and 'essence' of an impossible but beautiful thing. Rings without a planet."

The frei regarded her owner with skewed brows, looking again to Zeke then back to Harrison, her lips parted. This was a little too much for the newborn's mind and Harrison immediately noticed that. Biting his bottom lip as he moved over, "But I have charts and a blurb literally waiting for you in a box I have at home- our home. Origins are hard and scary but let's focus on what to call you because that is a beautiful and important process."

The tamil garbed frei was frozen, her red stained fingertips gripped Zeke's shoulder a little bit harder before she relaxed, focusing back on the book. Something resonated and she trusted Troxel that it was going to be okay. However, she did feel a bit more defiant now that the picture of her life she had uncovered up until this point was now that much larger but vague and clouded.

"Titania is good but I don't like it," She said quietly, accented voice a bit more curt and reserved, "I want something less clangy at the beginning. You know? 'Thai-Day-Knee-Ah!' It's loud- too loud, scream it to the heavens."

"What about Tatiana?" Harrison looked properly demure and subdued, a bit embarrassed about his outburst that had caused discontent, "Like Titan, like Titania, but softer- the name of a Russian princess and grand duchess."

Harrison's attempts of preserving his 'don't care none about being cultured' visage flew out the window. He went over, taking a pencil and wrote the name on a new page, "Ana, is soft, Tati is softer..."

The frei squinted at the new name, looking to Zeke and inhaled- holding it before speaking on her exhale, "Tah-tih-Ah-na....Tatiana is pretty."

"Tatiana Mae?"

"The mae comes from what?" the hamsa turned her head sharply, looking at Harrison once more.

"Mae is my Mother's middle name. She's excited to meet you... thought it would be nice for her and you. Bonding?"

Zeke watched the two in silence as they bantered, flicking his gaze between one, then the other, and then back again. The smile on his face was soft and fond, spiking only when Trox gave Zeke a severe look when the other man outed himself as a Shakespeare fan.

These two are going to get along fine.

They were already proving as such, working together to figure out a name to bequeath the Hamsa. When the name 'Tatiana' came into being, Zeke regarded the Frei and nodded in agreement. Tatiana. It suited her.

"I think we might have a winner there, Trox." The Frei herself called it pretty, that alone was points toward it. He looked at the Hamsa and smiled. "What do you think? Or maybe I should phrase it more like...What do you think, Tatiana?"

Pretty was one thing, and seeing it written down another, but hearing it spoken to her as her name might set everything firmer into stone for her and her Guardian.

"Mae's a pretty middle name too, but it's just the first we need on the paperwork." He gave the Frei's file a gesture to, a motion made only a little awkward by the Hamsa's presence on his arm. Her name, Trox's signature, and one of Zeke's own was all the new Guardian-Raevan pair needed to be allowed to go home and officially start their lives together.
