"Well well, Angel, it's time for you to buy a new watch." With a small sigh, the black-haired woman tapped her wristwatch acutely. She figured it wouldn't matter much; due to her prior engagements with occult activities, she was nigh infested with demonic influence. With every watch she bought, it broke abruptly some days afterward. Occasionally it lasted up to a month, but even replacing the batteries heeded little change. At this rate, the supernatural influences in her life despised the thought of her keeping time.

With a quick sip of her still-warm herbal tea, she placed the cup atop the bench seat as she withdrew a black pencil and coffee-stained memo pad. In a curling cursive script, she wrote a dry delineation of the moment her watch stopped and replaced the documentation into her leather purse. After shifting it back onto her shoulder, the woman stood and began her long trek toward an estate sale rumored to have eclectic merchandise at cheap prices. Rubbing her lips together to smooth her lipstick, the tanned woman ran a thumb just beneath her lower lip to absently wick away any stray smears from the cup.

Finally she started toward her destination at a good clip, inwardly coaxing herself to stay on track and ignore any of the flourishing signs of demonic energies as they pervaded rare passersby. For the most part she managed this effort well, overlooking a young teen with peculiar facial scarring and a pervading sense of foreboding as she forced herself toward the estate. However, as she took one last sip of her tea, her lips met nothing more than air - the top must've flown away in the breeze.

"Come now, can't you leave a girl alone for two minutes? It's terribly frustrating to not know the bloody time as it is!" She hissed aloud, turning heads of strangers that previously passed her without note. Seemingly unaware, Angel proceeded toward the nearest coffee shop in hopes of remedying her now tepid tea.

As she pushed through the doors, a worrying scent struck her nose almost immediately. Ground coffee beans dominated most of the scents, but Angel managed a vague whiff of orange spice wafting from the patron ahead of her. Angel considered warning of the potential attraction to so-called 'beneficial spirits' but the man seemed more absorbed with elbowing his way through the line with his newly acquired cup. Angel paused with her mouth half-open in the intent to explain, but simply took her place behind a tired-looking brunette.

Upon hearing the girl's order, Angel began mumbling to herself. "Really now, black? In a spot of a bind for caffeine now, are we? Could stand to drink tea once in a while..."

Quinn made a habit of minding her own business while she was out and about in Destiny City. Since she had moved to the city from London almost four years ago, she had quickly learned that getting involved in other peoples' s**t would lead to nothing but trouble. When she had first been awakened into the strangeness that was going on in Destiny City there were only two groups, and now there were four and it seemed like no matter where you turned, there was something out of the ordinary happening or someone lurking in the shadows waiting to steal your soul. Upset the wrong people and you could end up another one of Destiny City's missing people.

So when Quinn heard the girl behind her in line muttering not-so-quietly to herself about her order, she had to take a deep breath to steady herself. She knew to mind her own business, but apparently this girl behind her was unaware. A big, bright, fake smile was flashed at the barista as she handed her her delicious hot black coffee and she turned on her heel to face the black haired woman with the brightest blue eyes that Quinn had ever seen. She narrowed her own eyes, the large smile instantly fading.

Her long brown and blonde hair was thrown up into an awful messy bun. Her skinny jeans were torn (and bought that way, she was pretty sure!), her Converse high-tops scuffed to all hell and the hoodie that she wore was probably a size or two too big- had she lost weight? Probably. Who knows. To top it all off, Quinn had dark circles under her eyes and a cut lip. To sum it all up: she looked like hell.

"I'm sorry, is there a problem with what I ordered?" Stepping aside to let the other girl place her order to avoid holding up the line, Quinn took a large sip of her coffee, sighed with a loud "Mmmmmmm..." and smiled as if to make a point. "I used to drink tea. Wasn't strong enough for my needs."

"No, but there would've been a problem if you tried to add a spot of that bilge water to it." She replied, shooting an acidic glare to the display of creamers near the caps and cup sleeves. "Could be in a bad way, more than you are now, kiddo. Say, are you from London? Maybe it's just the spirits toying with me again but I think I picked up a bit of an accent there." Naturally it was her turn, and the baristas expected an order. After placing one for earl grey tea, she stepped aside and leaned against the pickup counter, one hand absently holding onto her purse strap on the opposite shoulder.

Contrary to the walking mess before her, Angel actually looked like she slept that night. Hair done up neatly as always and makeup painstakingly applied, Angel looked somewhat put-together until one's eyes drifted to her unique sense of style. She wore a purple sleeveless blouse covered by an orange infinity scarf, somehow matched with a plethora of gold bangles and a beige belt around her natural waist. Blue jeans (that lacked all the tatters that the brunette appeared so fond of) and black boots finished her ensemble for the unique sense of just falling out of a thrift store with any designer product she might've scrounged up there. Were she able to dress herself properly, Angel might've been beautiful. For now, she was... eccentric, probably avoidable, and definitely confusing.

Finally her order was produced, and Angel now held two cups - one full and one mostly empty, were it not for the dregs of tea littered about the cup. She offered the empty one toward the disheveled girl with a unique opportunity. "Oh, would you like your fortune read? I've got a bit of a nose for tasseography these days, except when my demons think it's prudent to obstruct my magical energies. They're party poopers, to put it plainly." She retained her focus on teh brunette, looking her in the eyes to show her unabashed acknowledgement of and belief in the occult. She felt incredulous stares focused on her from the strangers in line for coffee, but paid them no heed.

"Oh, I should've brought my zodiac cup with me... Buggers make tea reading so easy, even if they are a bit uncomfortable..." Mumbling to herself, she took her new acquaintance by the arm and tugged her toward a nearby table. "Come, love, these things can't wait. We'll dally and chat later." A very feng shui booth near the window called to her, or so she thought.

Her cell phone loosed a tinny shrill with an incoming message, starting Angel. After reaching into her purse, she flipped open her phone to find a worrisome revelation therein. "Shite..." She muttered to herself. "Looks like I've got to take a raincheck on that tasseography." A haunting in the center of the city? That can't be right... It's got to be a youma. Without further explanation, Angel fled through the door.
