CHARACTERS INVOLVED: Clara and two minis
SUMMARY: Clara finds two minis and takes them in. But destiny sucks and tragedy ensues.

In some distant universe far, far away, there lived a ghoul named Clara. Clara lived in a forest all by herself – not a soul could be found for many, many miles. She preferred solitude, but being alone like that, it was no surprise that Clara often felt lonely.
One morning, Clara was awoken from her sleep by high-pitched squeaks. She immediately ran to investigate what was going on and found two balls of fluff next to each other, both exhausted. They seemed to be of the same species of minipet, considering how they had the same horn, tail, size and fur color – what Clara could barely make out to be rainbow, but she could hardly tell underneath with all the blood and with all the patches of fur missing. She quickly rushed both of them to her home, where she took care of them. They quickly healed, but Clara woke up again to the sound of squeaks, this time from within her home. She found the two fluffs stabbing at each other with their horns, biting at each other, and doing whatever they could to harm the other. Clara quickly intervened, pulling both fluffs apart by their tails. While they both looked like they were in pain from fighting each other, they had a nonchalant look as they stared at Clara.
“What are you doing?”, Clara asked the two of them as she continued pulling on their tails because they kept trying to fight each other.
“Fighting!”, one chimed. “Yeah, fighting!”, the other one echoed.
“Why are you fighting?”, Clara asked.
“Cuz we gotta!” answered the first puff. “We hafta!” the other puff responded.
After a few more questions, Clara found out that the puffs were trying to kill each other because only one of them was allowed to survive, but neither of them knew why this was or how they knew. Clara allowed the two to continue living with her because they kept her company. As the two puffs grew, they fought less and less and while they didn't seem particularly close to each other when Clara had found them, they were nearly inseparable a few years later. Clara noticed that one of the puffs developed equine features while the other developed feline features, but the two undoubtedly belonged to the same species.
Their life together was rather peaceful until Clara found the two minis fighting for the first time in a long while. “What’s the matter?” Clara cried out loud as she tried to separate the two, but she was no longer able to because now they were about the same size as she was and she wasn't strong enough.
“We have to do this!”
“Please don’t stop us!”
“But WHY?” Clara was on the verge of tears, something rare coming from her since she was usually very stoic and didn't have many reasons to cry.
They didn't really have an answer for her, but they “just knew they had to”. At this point, there really wasn't anything Clara could do, so she respected their wish and sat hunched in a corner as she heard their sobs and screams as they fought. She must have fallen asleep because when she woke up, there was only silence. She silently crept to where the two had been fighting, afraid of what she would find. Unfortunately, her fears were confirmed.
