INDENTProject Wideawake (created by Trask and Gyrich) has been working behind the scenes to create the perfect none-human hunting machine since Stark unveiled his Ironman Suit. Nearly thirty-five years later this program produced plenty of Sentinels in various forms, including "Bio-sentinels". They are responsible for many of the retired superhuman disappearances and deaths. As well as infiltrating a fundraising Gala put on by Stark and Worthington industries for the benefit of Mutant and Mutate kind. They killed many high officials who were against the Mutant Registration act that had passed decades ago and framed the X-men who were considered the vigilante mutant group.
INDENTThankfully before the x-men were forced to defend themselves against the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D, agents Barton and Romanoff came back from an unknown island with proof and testament that the X-men weren't responsible for the killings. They could not stop the public's opinion from souring once more, however, nor could they stop the government giving full sanction to Project Wide awake as a way to combat the non-human threats on a more domestic approach.
INDENTThis is the era that we find ourselves in...too bad Sentinels aren't the real threats that our group of heroes will have to face.
Level - This is a lazy lit roleplay.We're going to assume that you know the Gaia Tos by now. We expect 15 sentences minimum per post with an attempt at grammar. As for the amount of times you have to post let's just say that as long as you're not holding up the story progression, you can post whenever you feel like it. All we ask is that you make sure you let us and other roleplayers know when you'll be gone for long periods of time by posting in the chat room.
Posting Formats - We don't ask for much in the way of decoration for your post. We would just like to see a picture of your character somewhere in your post and a heading to say your location. Fonts sizes...please try to keep it at or above size 10 and be thoughtful with the colors - not everyone has perfect vision. We also ask that you write in a 3rd person variation.
General Character Rules - Real life pictures only unless there is a notable physical mutation. Please keep in mind that your characters image(s) should represent your character as a whole (basically don't pick a slutty picture and play a nun type of deal).There will be no cannons accepted.
The Avengers - will not be accepting any more mutate or mutants. Nor will they have anyone under the age of eighteen.
Characters Amounts - You can have no more than 3 active characters at any given time. For every two females you must play a male. The other limitation is that you can't have more than 2 characters in any one group. This is not to be mean but to make sure that if one person leaves they can't kill any of the groups they are in by leaving.
Minor characters can be played at your and my discretion. If they have their own posts then they should not receive more posts than your active characters and should not, unless otherwise stated, have an active part in plots.
Character Abilities - Limit abilities/powers to two. Powers or abilities generally need to be related to one another. An example is Danika's ability to manifest energy is linked to how much she produces her self as well as what she can absorb. Exceptions may be made in some cases but probably not that frequently. There will be no direct power duplicates. Once that power is taken, no one else may apply and get in with the same thing until that character dies, is "retired" by the roleplayer, or taken off for any other reason. And we will not accept any from the following list: mimicry abilities, insta-death touch, or mind control abilities of any kind.

The Full Back Story -
INDENTIn the last 100 years our world has faced some amazing events. It has also faced some of its most dangerous ones as well. And it started during the second World War because of Hitler's association with two different people - Johann Schmidt and Klaus Schmidt.
INDENTJohann Schmidt had been part of a Superhuman Project and ended up mutating into the Red Skull. When he found an artifact called the Tesseract he tried to turn it into weapon to take over the world. He failed because another person who also received the Superhuman Serum - Captain America - stopped him.
INDENTKlaus Schmidt, whose real name was Sabastian Shaw, worked as an experimental doctor in one of Hitler's internment camps. One of his experiments was a young mutant by the name of Eric Lehnsherr. After Hitler had lost the war Eric tracked Shaw down and, with the help of others such as Charles Xavier, got revenge for everything that was done to him. In the processes they stopped Shaw from starting the Atomic War and exposed mutant kind to all of humanity.
INDENTSince then, humanity has raced to try to find a way to control or combat anyone or anything that has displayed more than human qualities. Some thought that experimentation on mutants was the way to go. Most thought that reinventing the Super Soldier Serum was the key. This indirectly led to the creation of the Fantastic Four after Reed Richards and the others were hit by a cosmic wave, altering their DNA. His experiment created the first publicly known Mutates. Which only fueled the desire for the rediscovery of the Super Human Soldier.This path led to more complications than it did answers - such as the Hulk.
INDENTIt wasn't until the mid 2000's that Tony Stark showed them there was another way to protect people against superhuman or none human threats. He created the first Iron Man suit and sent countries, and companies, racing to recreate his design. There were those who chose different paths, trying to merge everything that came before. S.H.I.E.L.D was one such group as they tried to harness the endless energy of the Tesseract. Instead they drew the attention of the Chitari and brought a war down on New York. The Avenger's Inititive was able to stop the invasion but it's scar remains in the mind of all.
INDENTOntop of the Chitari invasion, the actions of Magneto spurred more emphasis on trying to control Mutants and Mutates alike. It even led to companies such as Worthington industries trying to find a cure for mutants and mutate kind - both to help and to neutralize what was seen as a rising threat. This spurred a retaliation by Magneto and the Brotherhood and they attacked the area that this cure was being made - Alcatraz Island, San Francisco. This time around it was the X-men that stopped them.
INDENTMutant rights have been a hot topic since then. Over all, mutants have won as many rights as they lost when they were revealed during the Cold War. However, they are treated much like any other minority group - there are programs to help those in need but there are still those who discriminate against them. And there's something more going on behind the scenes...
