The tiny winged foal walked across the beach, the sand sinking around his hooves. He was lost in thought and did not realize that his wings had taken him away from the beach. Larkin looked beneath him and saw the vast glorious sea. His smile was radiant as he glided above the magical scenery. His hooves dangled above the water, creating tiny waves when they touched the sea. A poem came to mind and he said it out loud,
“An eternal love
Is hard to find upon earth
But I have found thee”
He continued to circle the sea and then returned to the beach. He was breathless from what he had just experienced. The foal made a note to do it again. He had never felt so alive than in that moment flying over the deep waters.
“Oh being of the sea, please come to me. Provide me with the key that will unlock the secrets of the sea.” The poet gave a laugh and continued to walk among the beach, letting the sound of the waves lull him into a creative meditative state.

The water rippled far above her and Isadora propelled her way up to see what was happening. She heard a sweet clear voice singing a summoning song. It was an old one that them canoe men and the men before them use to sing to the sirens of the see, or so it was told.
Or so the stories went.
But the summoning song did hold some power. The tune brought her to the surface, and she swam close to the shore where the voice rang out. "You summoned me from the depths, give me your offering and ask your question. But only one."

His eyes opened wide when he took in the orange seathi, for a moment he was at a loss of words, “I- I didn’t summon you. I think you must be mistaken. I was just rhyming…” Then his eyes widened as he thought over the words he had spoken. Since he had summoned the seathi, he might as well allow her to tell the secrets of the sea. “Will this lei of shells I wear around my neck be offering enough, Oh keeper of the sea’s secrets?” He indicated the shells necklace which held a various amount of different colored shells of all shapes and sizes? His sisters had helped him make the trinket and he knew that they would be able to help him make another if he so wished.

"Yes," she spoke gently. "Toss them down. Something worn is even better." The foal had not known the words he was speaking or the power it gave over those who practiced the arcane.
She breathed deeply and looked at the small foal. She pushed past the temporary image, the image of how he was now and looked past that. Isadora watched his bones knit together across the back of her eyelids. How is legs and hair lengthened. She saw the brightness of his wings and the bright smile of a stallion who was happy with him.
There were flutterings of blue butterfly wings as a small insect landed on the place over his heart.
"What do you want to know?"
What they all want to know. The future, the past, the now...the never. What was and would be or would never become. So much to concern one's self with. So much to disregard.
