RockerWolfie1616 The fresh coppery tang of blood met the stallions tongue, eyes partially closing as his head bent to begin devouring the sweet supple flesh. Young, soft..older creatures were so..disgusting to eat. Only rabbits and young fawns had such a lovely taste, that's what he now feasted upon. A young fawn snatched from it's mother. Fooish doe had tried hard to save it but, eventually her instinct forced her to leave. A warm tendril of relaxation swirled in the stallions body with each crunch or tug..Akeldama became more engrossed and less attentive to his surroundings. Who would be foolish enough to approach a scarred up, bloody kalona in the middle of a meal? Roman Foi She must have landed in an uninhabited area, because she saw no one. Not a bird, creature, or soq. Frustrated already, she began to doubt if she was going to succeed in finding her uncle after all. That's when the smell met her senses and her eyes narrowed in on the a brown mass in the distance. Narrowing her eyes, Kali very quietly inched closer, at an angle, downwind, to behind a large tree. She could see it was large stallion eating a small kill. She scrunched her nose. No telling what it had been, but blood was blood--no matter whose it had belonged too. A puny meal for such a large guy, she thought. She noticed his scars next. He was... tough looking. A sexy kind of tough looking, she appraised. Obviously kalona. She watched a while longer, trying to discern anything else about him that she could, because she took a deep breath and stepped out from behind the tree. "Such etiquette." She said in a sarcastic tone, with a touch of humor, her grin barely visible or her lips. Quote: Tail whipping back towards where the voice came from Akeldama pushed up from the ground with a swift snarl readily forming. Turning to the stranger the male was rather perplexed..to see a mare. She could almost be beautiful. If only she didn't have those wings. Bloody teeth flashing he kept his distance..years of training had taught him..enemies often sent in something pretty to distract before pouncing. "Such sarcasam, from one with diluted blood coursing through their veins." Quote: Suppressing her growing smile, a giggle bubbled up her throat that almost threatened to escape. "And what? Sarcasm is restricted to one type of blood?" She sneered, mocking. "I guess in exchange for your sarcastic blood, you forwent the charming trait, hm?" She watched him closely... very closely. He could kill her if she wasn't on her absolute, 100% guard. Shifting slightly, to prepare her stance to either dodge or duck, her eyes narrowed. Quote: Lips lifting further he oh so casually stepped away from his kill, it was almost gone and had been more of a light snack than a true feast. "No but, clearly brains are restricted to one type of blood. Weren't you taught to not approach a predator when they are eating?" Scoffing Akeldama kept his eye on the mare..nostril twitching to smell for anyone or anything else. He was no fool but, a seasoned warrior. "If you are done wasting my time, I have better things to do than quibble with a half breed." Snorting the stallion stretched his large webbed wings..preparing to lift up into the air. Why was he wasting his time with a mare? Something about her kept drawing his eye..he'd never seen a mixed breed look like that. Quote: Damn! She could see he was about to take flight. "I wouldn't do that if I were you." She didn't crack, or show she her doubts. She'd perfected the poker face. Deadpan, deathly serious, Kali moved, a circle motion around him, that didn't draw her anywhere near closer to the male. "This half breed has something you'd like to here, Kalona." Quote: No one, absolutely no one told Akeldama what to do or when to do it! Growling low his tail gave a sharp snap like flick through the air..aiming towards the mares flanks if she dared get any closer. "Nothing you have to say interests me little half breed. I don't have time to waste." Snorting the stallion stretched his mighty wings pausing a moment to enjoy the sun's warm rays. It was clear he felt no threat from her..she was such a petite little fluffy mare. What harm could she do? Quote: Kali was ashamed she jumped from his jaws, and anger pulsed through her because of it. "How dare you." She said, letting steel harden and coat her words, raising her tone well above her delicate voice before. "This half breed is offering you quite the reward if you'd shut your ignorant trap, and pay the least bit of goddamn attention." Her eyes narrowed, letting her words float through the air to him and sink in. Quote: Eyes looking over the mare he flicked his tail again, smirking because of her little jump. "Ho dare I? How dare I what? How dare I ask to be left be? I have no need for rewards. What makes you think you have anything I'd even want? Tell me little mare." Continuing to sun his wings Akeldama enjoyed the irritation flashing upon the litlte half breeds face. If there was one thing he liked better than killing insolent soquili..it was annoying uppity little soq. Quote: Kali reeled herself in, closing her eyes, breathing once, and reopening them with a coy smile. "I have something every large, powerful kalona like yourself wants." Her voice was back to sweet and darling. She walked a little more around the radius she'd given herself from, not keeping her eyes on him but watching closely out of her peripherals. She took a few steps, stopped, and turned her head the slightest bit towards him. "Territory. A great one." Quote: Territory. The word made him pause a moment but, he was no fool..despite his brutish looks and the many scars marring him Akeldama was not one to rush into any kind of 'deal'. If something sounded too good to be true..it probably was a lie or some form of trickery. "Territory hmm? What makes you think I do not have my own territory?" Truthfully the stallion hadn't settled down just yet..after the war..after losing all he held dear Akeldama felt..displaced. Angry. Sad. An emotion he kept tightly hidden within himself. A kalona did not show such weakness. "It sounds too good to be true. If I were you I'd talk faster." Quote: Kali kept herself from grinning. It would give her away. Instead, she only stared down the kalona with her innocent, open eye'd expression. "I come from a powerful family." Not a lie, if you look at blood. "My father was killed by a traitor." Not technically a lie. "I'm sent to find that traitor, but I don't know these lands." Half a lie, half truth. "...you might have known him." She watched his expression very, very carefully. This was a dangerous stepping ground. She'd heard about the kalona war, just enough to know they lost. She also knew that any male from her culture would not sit idly by. Of course, who knew what side that her uncle had fought for. Quote: Akeldama was quickly losing his patience. The drawn out explanation and innocent look did absolutely nothing for him, what wnat did he have to find a traitor. Unless said soq had done something to him personally..lip lifting to flash a fang the stallion settled his wings into a more relaxed position. "If this traitor fought in the war he's most likely dead. I have no interest in chasing down a ghost for some territory I've never laid eyes on." Quote: She grinned, showing her own kalona teeth she'd gotten from her parents. "Oh, he's not dead. I assure you." That was true. She'd been one of the queen's ladies and she knew that the mare had often sent a scouting hawk to ensure her son was alive. Of course she could never ask the queen where, specifically. As much as she got was this area, which was lucky enough. The queen had become more... quick tempered after losing her two sons. "Happen to see very many angeni/kalona mixes? Ones that happen to be bigger than you?" she perked an eyebrow, appraising the kalona as if he was meek in comparison. He was leaner than her herd's kind, but he somehow still pulled it off with a very attractive body, she admitted. Quote: Moving to the scraps of a kill he'd left behind the stallion settled once more to eat, crunching the bones with a small sense of delight. After a few mouthfuls and a bit of loud chewing his gaze swept up to the sky. Akeldama was trying very hard to stay focused on this..annoying conversation. Why did this mare keep pushing so many buttons? Did she not valure her life? Perhaps she simply enjoyed being a pain because she thought her looks made up for it. Whatever the reason Akeldama found his eyes rolling. "Don't push me. I do not have any qualms when it comes to harming mouthy little mares. Don't compare me to some mix breed filth! I am pure. That makes me better than whoever it is you are seeking to find. I only know of one such male. Only in passing. Why?" Quote: She ignored his stupid quip about being 'pure'. Probably some inbreeding in there somewhere along the line. "Why? Because he is the traitor of course." She let her acting skills out a little more, her voice disgusting and angry all in one, like she felt hatred for this creature like none other. "Would your purity aid you in tracking him, if you wanted to?" She tacked the end of her last sentence on just for his ego. She suppressed rolling her eyes.
