SUMMARY: Through a curse, a naive and dumb demon finds true love
ENTRY HERE:

There once was a beautiful queen blessed with beauty and wisdom, but with such a benevolent gift came a price. She was also born with a curse in the form of poison, which resided in her blood. Should it ever come in contact with another, the individual would die a slow painful death, and though they sought to see if an antidote could be found, their efforts were in vain. Out of fear for hurting her subjects, she isolated herself for many years, shutting herself out of the world to keep them safe, and the only ones she consorted with were her royal adviser and a faithful servant ghoul.

All went well for many years, until one fateful night. The queen had just retired for the night, and had not laid down for more than a few moments until the sound of shattering glass awoke her, and she found that an intruder had broken into her room through the window. “Who are you?” she asked, fearful of venturing closer due to the glass shards, but the assailant remained silent, his intentions evident as she eyed the dagger in his hand. Though his face was covered, he could not hide the wings and tail at which a bright flame burned at the end, and she knew that he hailed from the fire demons, a race of hideous, wicked creatures who despised her kingdom as it was prosperous, and always sought out ways to cause harm to them. They were only kept at bay as they feared the queen’ curse, but when they found out that she wished not to cause them harm and had no intention of using her curse as a weapon, they had grown more restless and hostile, and she knew that a war between them could not be stopped.

She tried to beseech him, beg him to cease such a pointless strife, but the demon heeded not her words, malicious intent in his eyes. She sought to defend herself, picking up the bed lamp as a makeshift weapon, but the demon was versed in combat and disarmed her effortlessly, and sliced at her with his knife, leaving a gash in her arm. She cried out from pain and fear, begging him not to commit such a heinous act, and at that very moment, her advisor and servant ghoul burst through the door, and while the advisor took care of the intruder, the ghoul rushed to her majesty’s aid, attempting to bandage her wound as blood trickled down her arm. However, despite these odds, the demon showed no intention of backing off, and burned the advisor.

Out of anger, she marched up to the demon, and with the wounded arm, delivered a swift slap across his face, fingernails scratching his cheek. The blood that stained her hands seeped into the demon’s skin, and out of pain, he recoiled. Finally admitting defeat, he fled, and the kingdom had no more qualms with the flame demons.

However, something seemed amiss in peaceful kingdom, and the queen noticed the servant ghoul seemed more distraught as each day passed. Finally, the queen inquired what had troubled her, and though the ghoul was hesitant to answer at first, she finally told her that feared for the demon’s life. Though it was just a scratch, she knew the poison would slowly kill him, and wished to be by his side during his final moments. Though the queen was appalled that the young ghoul would go to such lengths for such vermin, she granted her request, and the ghoul set out towards the opposing kingdom. It was there that she found out the demon who had assaulted her majesty was actually the prince, and the kingdom had been silent for they had been planning a mass assault.

At first they were suspicious of the young ghoul, believing that she came as a spy, but when she showed no malice and only wished to speak to the dying prince. With his days already numbered, they granted her request, and as she lay eyes upon the frail demon, her heart went out to him. Rushing to his side, she threw his arms around him, and the demon, though weak and on the verge of death, was caught by surprise and thrashed about, his tail flame burning the edge of her dress. As the flame slowly engulfed the ghoul, she only smiled sadly and uttered 3 simple words:



Dumbfounded, the demon only watched as the ghoul perished, leaving behind a frozen heart. In his final moments, he finally let go of the bitter jealously he held for the queen and her kingdom, finally understanding love and called off the attack, holding the heart to his as he breathed his last.

REVIEW HERE: OMG! This story is so Tragic, so sweet! But what about the queen was she truly in love with her adviser? What happened to the ghoul afterwords? I NEED TO KNOW!
