It was dark as a small, cloaked female audio moved through the city. Rarely did she travel outside of it. Most would consider it dangerous to do so, she, however, considered it far more dangerous to travel in the light. Too easy to be seen, too many others also traveling about.
Notably there had been... an increase in traffic, so to speak, these last few weeks. She was fairly certain she knew who was responsible for it as well. On more than one occasion there had been glimpses of Ash and some unknowns moving about, scavenging what they could.
Now it was just a matter of finding him. Not that it should be too hard. All guts and glory. Clearly the 'hero' enjoyed basking in his attention.
It made her stomach churn.
Pulling her hood back, one good eye glanced around and she sniffed at the air. Hrn, smoke.
"Tower tail. I know you're here." she snipped rather crassly, not wanting to play a game of cat and mouse.
"Come out."

Dark. Night. Shadowy.
It was good for travel, good for cover and in the City even the brightest of Audio could slip into darkness should they so choose.
That's what Flashover hated about it. It was so easy. So very easy. That had been the citygoers downfall. Easier to live in darkness and do as you were told than to break out and mold the world to your own liking. They merely existed, never actually living. To this day the thought still disgusted him.
They were blinded by the darkness. But one day....one day they'd see.
Here in the ruined part of town things were quiet. They usually were...the survivors of the great fire had moved to other areas. Already work had begun on a new tower...and with the specialized machines working on it it wouldn't be long before it was done. Figures, the felling of the great Tower had very little impact on things as a whole. Still, it had been a symbol that those who were awake in the City were done being quiet.
A message to those in charge that their time of rule was coming to an end.
Still, even here in the burnt out remains of the old City the droning of the great screens reached. The never said anything important...just stories and lies spoken as truth. It constantly talked, worming it's way into everyone's minds without them knowing. Brainwashed the City and it's people into submission.
Flash hated that too, and even though it was a whisper on the wind he flattened his ears and growled just slightly. Damn this City, and damn those screens.
Tonight he had simply wanted to look around and see what else he could find. But...honestly he was quite glad someone had called out to him. He burned with a need for something more than simple scavenging. ANYTHING besides this simple existance, whether it was arguing or fighting or whatever.
Just. Something.
A shadowed form stepped out, moving towards the light cast from one lone streetlamp. The only real light in this area of the City, one last working relic from it's old days.
"What the hell do you want?" Eyes narrowed, Flashover flicked his tail in annoyance. The smell of smoke from him was strong. Not that he minded...he found comfort in the fire.

"Now now, I thought we were on at least feigning pleasantries these days." Ugh, his stench was overwhelming almost and it was every last drop of willpower not to have her face twist and curl with disgust. Though the tip of her nose did twitch in spite of herself.
"Mostly curious about what vile poison you've been spreading these days." the fox like audio snorted, "I'm not completely blind, after all. Ash isn't careful, I can spot her a mile away. She's not been alone these days either." the idea that he was instilling any sort of ideals in these young audio made the fur on the back of her neck set on edge and her skin crawl.
It was also twinged with a threat on the edge of it. The young ones, mostly alone, afterall, were prime targets.
"Be a shame if any left you, hmm? Or perhaps you'd like that. The lonely martyr. I'm sure it'd feed your ego just the same."

"You're one to talk about spreading vile poison." Ugh he could -swear- that talking from the screen was getting louder. It did nothing but talk. ".....insurgents........fire........eradication........rebuilding......" He really just wanted it to SHUT. UP.
"I rescued them from their own fate. They're free to live and choose what they want in life. If that causes them to leave that is their own decision. And Ash...she can care for herself. I don't worry about her."

"Worry, care. Same thing." she shrugged, letting his nonchalance roll off her back.
"Though, I somehow doubt you really rescued them from their own fate. Fairly certain someone else had a hand in that as well." her own tail began to twitch at this point, irritation running through her veins.
Sometimes it was hard to keep things civil with him.
"As for my 'vile poison'," snort, "I had a job to do. I did that job. I did it well and that part of my life was none of your affair."

"Oh of course someone else had a hand in it. The Tower. It's people. And all the people of this City who refuse to wake up and see the world around them for what it really is. They all had a hand in what happened."
His tail was twitching faster now, fur on edge as all the sights and sounds of this forsaken place broke through his thoughts.
Damn it all..
"Speaking of caring and your job, I see you seem to have lost your extra appendage. Shame, do say hello to the little traitor for me next time you see him will you?"

Before she could break into an onslaught about the stupidity of blaming the city people, she felt her lips curl back, teeth baring slightly and uttering a low growl in response to his words.
"Despite your idiotic suggestions, we are not joined at the hip. I'm sure whatever he is off doing is far more important than sitting here dealing with you. That doesn't say much about my time, however, but I at least like to give fair warning in advance." she huffed.
"Unlike some people, I'm willing to give others a fighting chance." she could taste the bile in her throat, continuing to restrain herself. Really, she'd love to simply attack him right there. In her mind, she had just cause.
It would be easy.
But it wouldn't be fair.
Which she wouldn't do. Lucky for him (and perhaps, lucky for her). "I'll be sure to remind him that you want him to know your head is still shoved so far up your a** you can see out your neck again though."

"I give others a fighting chance to live, not sure exactly what it is you're going on about. All your lot does is oppress them even further. Some like that, I say they're not awake."
And sometimes people just needed tough love to wake up to reality.
...He wasn't even going to touch the head up the a** comment. So mature Fox...so very mature.
"It'd be a shame if he disappeared...now wouldn't it?"
At this point he was provoking a fight. He welcomed it! The City had him on edge, the fire within raging. Bring it on, you little s**t.

No Fox, no. Don't let him under your skin like that. Those were the thoughts running through her head repeatedly at his flippant attitude about her consort. It was easy to see her bristle, however, his words hitting the mark Flash had clearly intended.
Unfortunately her own pride got in the way.
"I'd like to see you try." the words rolled out in an aggravated snarl, barely keeping herself from launching at him.
She was grateful there was still such distance between them. Small blessings, afterall.
Unlike her current counterpart here, she had no real desire to get into a physical fight... but it also wasn't terribly difficult to goad her.

"That's the thing, you won't see me try. By the time you think to look he'll be gone...all because you weren't keep close enough of an eye on him. Shame, really. He used to have his uses, but now...well he's nothing more than a traitor and I have no further use for him."
Flash's tail continued to swish, his eyes narrowed on Fox to watch for any signs of an attack.
Come. ON.

"Well," she let herself take a few, deep breaths before continuing on, "good thing no one really cares if you have a use for him or not." she would not be the one to start this. No. Not this time.
Her body language relaxed a little even, the audio doing what she could to calm her nerves. Not an easy task, mind you.
"I doubt you'd ever really even get near him, so I have little to worry about."

Apparently it was. Throwing the hood of her cloak up over her head, she made motion to actually leave. She knew the longer she stayed the more likely something would happen.
"I suppose we will. Always a pleasure, Tower." she muttered, tail flicking behind her.

Oh -hell- no. There was no way she was just going to WALK OFF after stirring the fire within him. No, he was ready to fight and she wasn't going to get away so easily.
Flashover snorted, not immediately going after her. No...instead he picked up a piece of wreckage from the ground...
And one split second later, the debris (now on FIRE) went flying straight for Fox's back.

Fox was generally fast on her feet, and the smell of the smoke hit her nose quickly. Unfortunately she hadn't been expecting him to actually attack her and while she moved to get out of the way, the debris crashing into the back of her cloak where her left arm was hiding.
Without much thought she had to toss the cloak to the ground, not needing to be lit on fire. Her heels wiped around to face him and her eyes narrowed.
"Coward!" she growledat him, her feet moving underneath her, seeming to propel her towards him without thought. The arm that hadn't been hit by the debris deftly fingered one of the knives she kept on her person.
The gap was quickly closing and she flew forward, slashing towards the other audio's face, lips curled into a furious snarl, her teeth baring at him as she moved.
