Her claws scraped along the ice coated rock as she stalked the ridge. Head swinging back and forth to scan her surroundings. Her belly was full, and despite the fact that she had licked herself clean her belly bulged so that even a passer by would have been able to tell that she had just enjoyed a large meal. Now was the time to hunt for tomorrow's leftovers.
A trusting or naive individual was the easiest route, but targets with a real wit about them could be more satisfying in the end. Few, not even the sharpest among them, caught on immediately to her rouse. After all, she was just a bear.
Just a regular old bear.

Phail Ninja Timbira wasn't sure what force of nature had persuaded her to leave her home for the day - but she was starting to regret it. A cold wind buffeted her body, forcing the hairs on the back of her neck to stand erect as shivers ran down her spine. Normally much too shy and timid to travel far, this was one of those rare occasions where she had broken the usual rule.
Even she, sometimes, felt a little bit adventurous.
Her hooves sought purchase on the icy rock below. The going was tough. She was used to gentle grass, nice and easy to traverse. Suddenly, her back leg slipped out beneath her. Panic jolted through her body as she stumbled, heavily catching herself on her other legs. Why? Why had she gone out? She mentally chastised herself.

Jenu spotted the purple mare just as she stumbled on the ice. Stupid mare. She changed course, heading straight toward the stranger. She seemed frail, bracing herself against the ice like that. But caution, caution yet. Looks could be deceiving.
"Are you injured?" a false display of concern. An injury only meant that she would limp on their way back to the mountain. Either that or Jenu would have to idle by and work at her while she healed. Waiting on a full grown mare? She swallowed a growl. A foal? Fine. Foals were worth the wait.
Well, she could always lead the mare to a secluded place to 'heal'. That was a thought.

Phail Ninja Regaining her footing, Timbira peeked out at her back leg. It stung, but only a little. She bent down to sniff at it. A small scratch by the look of it, nothing more. She gave it a shake, ignoring the smart of pain that shot up her ankle.
The scratch of claws against rock made her jump to, a squeak of surprise escaping her. Her breath froze as she saw a huge grey bear making its way over to her. "Aaaaaaaah, p-p-please d-don't eat me!" Her panic reflexes kicked in as her eyes darted from side to side, though she was too frozen with shock to even think about running away. But then the bear spoke. Not a ferocious predator then, surely? The mare stood still, bar the trembling in the legs, staring at the creature.
"Ah, m-m-my m-mistake. I th-thought you were a p-predator. Are... are you a familiar? Y-you can talk l-like me." She could barely stutter out the words, her usual nerves kicking in. She'd never been good at talking to people. Only afterwards registering the bear's comment, she flicked a shy ear backwards and bowed her head. "O-oh p-please, d-don't worry about me. I-it's nothing more than a s-scratch." She hid her eyes underneath her bangs, trying to reposition herself so the stranger couldn't see her leg. Though she was sure the bear meant no harm, she didn't want to cause any fuss.

Mm~ Her scream was fantastic. Hearing it steeled Jenu's resolve to extract more.
"Don't fear me," yet. "My mother was also unusually large for a companion bear. It's in my blood. And why wouldn't I worry? I saw you stumble there," you are too large to drag back up my mountain. It's too far.
She passed a paw over the small wound clenching her jaw hard to keep from pressing down with her claws, "It's deep. May become infected." It wasn't nearly as bad as Jenu suggested. Just a surface wound. That was good, infected meat had a vile taste to it.

Phail Ninja Alarm shot through Timbira at the bear's words. "D-do you really th-think so?" Her eyes locked down onto her leg, looking at the scratch. Well, it was bleeding a little, she supposed. Could it become infected? Would she get stuck out here, so far from her home? "I-It doesn't look th-that bad, does it?" She began to shake from stress, not know what to do at all here.
The mare's frazzled nerves could barely take it. Her breath can out faster and faster, dizziness threatening to swamp her. "Ah, erm. I think..." What would a normal person do in this situation? "D-do you know i-if th-there are are any c-comfrey or ch-chervil p-plants n-nearby? I-I learned a little a-about h-healing, I-I think I could remember h-how to m-make a poultice for it. G-goldenrod or h-horsetail would be g-good too. O-or a h-healer or a uni, d-does one of those live in the area?"
She was too nervous to see that the wound probably didn't need that much attention, as limited as her knowledge of medicinal herbs was.
