Zak had been training with Flora and Sakki, when one of their stray attacks had hit the brush next to them, causing a cry to escape from the position. Apparently they had hit someone or something watching them. The three ran over to see what they had hit to discover a Vulpix. At the moment the trainer didn't have any pokeballs to catch the fallen fire type, for he had used his last one to catch a Buneary. A pokemon he was planning on giving one of his friends. He drew his own pokemon back into their pokeballs.

With out a pokeball to keep the wounded pokemon in until he was able to bring it to the closest town and pokemon center, he decided to rush it there himself. Gently picking up the Vulpix the male ran in the direction in which the group had come. It wasn't long before he had bumped into another person flinging both of them onto the ground. As he fell Zak shielded the wounded pokemon from the fall.
