Daring stared in shock at the tiny little pae sitting on her shelf like it belonged there. Only... it didn't. Daring rushed over to him without a second thought before he could break something else, or worse: himself. She scooped him up off the shelf and into her arms. Daring Do was an adventuring pae, mommy instincts were not readily there, but as soon as she held him to her it was like a switch had flipped.
It seemed that the touch had created a reaction in the child as well. Much like how her touch had awoken the seed in the first place, the child seemed to recognize her touch and relaxed from his previously startled state. He cooed and smiled at her, feeling safe and warm now.
Daring Do was at a loss for what to do. It was a pae, right? Something about his face looked familiar like a baby fauny from her lands, but the rest of him...
This would certainly mean a lot less adventuring for her now, but he was too cute for her to feel anything less than love for.
Where did she begin?! "Well I guess I should start by giving you a name... Elias." Daring Do had a feeling that her stories were going to be about a different sort of adventure from now on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Daring Do was unaware, but something else had happened when she returned from her trip with Miela. A small pinky boy had followed her from the forest. He had slipped into Laisidhiel relatively unnoticed, after-all he was a faun and it was not abnormal to see a young faun walking around in Laisidhiel.
The boy had been biding his time, waiting to show himself to the fauny he had followed. Maybe she could be his mother? He didn't quite know what a mother was, but something inside told him that he should have one. His brown eyes looked on as she discovered the shiny bauble was a little boy, just like him. And his eyes saddened as she scooped the boy up in her arms. It looked like there wasn't room for him in her heart anymore.
With that realization the boy slipped back out of Laisidhiel and back into the forest. Perhaps, he was just supposed to be a lost boy.
