It was a cold, snowy winter's day in the Shadow's warped and twisted wood, and, as much as it meant that this was a time for mischief instead of battle, one of the chief mischief-makers in the herd wasn't happy. Plamen far preferred the summertime or the autumn to the winter. And the spring was too "pwetty" to take seriously.

Not that there was too much to do right now, anyway. Aside from mess with his latest offspring. And Retinadeath was more likely to be keeping them close to her. So it was that he was wandering around, completely bored. Everything seemed to be about the foals lately. Prince Belenus was off flinging his blood as wide as possible, Queen Blodeuwedd had a dumb boytoy consort to amuse herself, she'd matched up his son Feral with her brother-in-law Cometary, Retinadeath's adopted daughter Tonestue was pregnant, and he and Retinadeath currently had offspring of their own.

Plamen wasn't really good with children. Well, actually, he wasn't really interested in them, unless as a means to screw up some other poor kid by being hands off or an embarrassment or shame or something. Yeeesss, Plamen wasn't going to win any Parent of the Year Award. Ever. That said, apparently, he was going to be expected to be involved with his offsprings' lives at some point in the relatively near future. Ugh.

It had now been quite some time since Haruto had been brought by his father, Chaos Duke of Fire Plamen von Hoelle, to the Shadow Herd, a sickly son incapable of gaining the favor of his mother or his father's lover, Death General Retinadeath. No full siblings around, and his half-siblings were all close to Retinadeath, or were crazy. Or just plain missing. And now Retinadeath and Plamen had more kids. Great. As good as it was to be ignored, compared to the alternatives, Haruto had to admit that he didn't think much of his family. Blood-related, or otherwise.

Probably as a result of not ever being wanted and not wanting to socialize with those who didn't want him, Haruto hadn't officially gotten to talk to any of his baby half-siblings. Sanity was possibly extant in only a few members of the extended family; and from what he knew, his older half-sister Rafaella had probably been sane, he was probably relatively sane (despite his fondness for mischief and scheming and dreaming), and Tonestue was pretty definitely sane...most likely. Not a stellar track record. Better to let opportunities to meet the new crazies come when they inevitably came up.

His wandering feet inevitably brought him face to face with the cause of much of his life. Well, all of it. Plamen von Hoelle. Joys.

User ImageSnow everywhere was covered in snow! But despite the cold and Kera having to keep his wings tight to his body for warmth it was a good day. Kera was excited, he finally was going to spend some time with his father. Granted neither of his parent's cared all that much for him. He didn't like Tony much either she was so doting especially on him and his sister because mother didn't like him or his sister. It was so annoying. He didn't need her to take care of himself.

Kera had wandered off from Tonys care again. Since well she was pregnant and couldn't handle herself as well as she could before. There were five of them too, she'd never miss him. He grinned at his cleverness slipping away as he did.

Now where was his father the Chaos duke of Fire? Kera wandered around for a while by himself. None of the other shadow members really cared where he went. He was one of the Death General's children. A rare form but familiar color caught his eye. Oh there was his half brother Haruto, he'd pretty much become known as the ghost of the family. He'd been seen as much as his other half brother. Wasn't he lucky today especially since it looked like he was about to run into his father.

Keratoconus came up beside Haruto. "Hello Father." he greeted.

Plamen paused, staring at both sons. Well. Father-brats bonding time had opted to proffer itself sooner rather than later. The ghost son Haruto, and the new loner, Keratoconus. Unavoidable. Might as well socialize, encourage them in the ways of mischief and trouble and the fine art of living up to being a Chaos Duke.

"Afternoon, lads. How can we wreak havoc today?" Yeah, real nonstarter to hanging out. But he had no real idea of where to go and what to do with the kids. At least Retinadeath knew. Even if it was a bit militaristic. Eeesh.

Haruto sighed inwardly. Plamen and one of his new get with Retinadeath. Fun times. Even better, to be spending it with both father and younger half-brother. "Greetings, Father. Kid," he said, not knowing the colt's name, and not sure if he was going to be expected to remember it. Meh.

"I don't have anything else to do with the rest of the day," he replied. If he was lucky, Plamen wouldn't get them into too much trouble, and the kid would actually be civil to him. Haruto wasn't really betting on befriending too many people. Not with the rest of the family being what it was.

He wasn't just a kid. haruto could have said brother or something. Haruto probably didn't care about the family much. After all Haruto was almost never around. Kera wanted to scoff at his older brother, he honestly didn't know his name? Kera wasn't going to be a kid for long. Besides he'd make his Father proud. And do all the things his father wanted him to do. Kera couldn't help himself but look eager when his father said they were going to do something fun. he wondered what it was

"My Name is Keratoconus," he corrected Haruto proudly to fearing the Rumors that surrounded his older brother. Rumor was Haruto was actually the son of ghost mare. He didn't believe it though. Ghosts didn't exist right. There was no way that was just a story for his father to impress his mother with. he was certain that was the case. Haruto was nothing special.

Returning to being quite eager "What are we going to do Father?" He piqued up fluttering his small green wings.

Plamen didn't really have a good sense of any of his kids, aside from the fact that a lot of them spent copious time around Retinadeath. Aside from Feral, who was a bit of a weirdo, and Haruto, who was so quiet that people tended to forget that Haruto even existed. Times like that, it seemed very likely that that Kyouka had been right about being a ghost.

Right. Mischief, ho~! Now, if only he could figure out a good scheme for the spawn to assist with....

"You boys got anything you need to do right now?" Plamen asked. It couldn't hurt to fish for inspiration for a bit of chaos to brighten an otherwise dull afternoon.

Keratoconus. Right. Haruto had gotten the vague impression that these new spawn were named for eye ailments. Certainly meant memorable names for the five of them. Given his non-complimentary coloration, odds were that Haruto's stepmother was less fond of Keratoconus. Either that, or Keratoconus was too thick to realize that making nice with Daddy meant being used as a toy for Deranged Daddy of the Year. And not a very competent Deranged Daddy of the Year.

"Not really," Haruto responded, vaguely wishing he did have something else to work on. Anything, really. Even some really stupid and boring errand for Retinadeath.

"Nope Father!" Keratoconus watched his father eagerly as he waited for a response from his father . Kera didn't have much to do to begin with, after all, his mother didn't expect anything of him at all. So he hoped his father would at least. Haruto didn't seem to be over enthusiastic when it came to father. Most of them weren't.

after all Retina was the true family head. Kera absently wondered what his mother was going to do when she retired as death General. Not that he cared. There were a few who wanted her job and some too stupid to take it. But on the other hand Kera didn't want her job it seemed like it was a pain. On the other hand dad looked like he just had fun all the time. Causing trouble and sewing seeds of Chaos.

now what were they going to do?
