Mission Description:
According to the recent demonic activity that has been occurring around town recently and the few suspects we have managed to detain, there is a game on the internet called Pandemonium. There are a few things that we have come across in our reports and questions. The first, each person involved mentioned the name Vesalius, we have reason to believe that this man is the one who is forcing demons to possess the teenagers of the city. Second, the ones involved all seem to range from middle school age through their mid-twenties. They all use terms such as experience points, magic user, tier, MP [MP=Magic Point] and leveling up. Originally the police believed these teens were speaking of a video game and paid them no attention. After our own study of the website in which the students claimed they downloaded Pandemonium, it doesn’t exist. Each of the members claim that the web site only had one question on the page “Do you want power?” by clicking yes the screen apparently glowed the member falls unconscious, upon their awakening they claim they knew they had special powers and how to use them. The only explanation that we can come up with is that the website activate the Demon Summoning Ritual, a contract signing over one’s soul, which gets fulfilled without the user’s knowledge. Somehow demons have found a way to convert their souls into digital data on the internet which then is uploaded directly into the user’s body. It’s impossible to find the website through search engines, and no one has memory on how they came across it.
There is an online message board where players go and exchange information such as to post their status or challenge each other. It’s mostly filled with people bragging about their powers. But it’s mostly where people set up their battle appointments. Confirmed by one of the suspects, when players in this ‘game’ battle each other, they can gain experience points and level up. Once you’ve moved to a certain level you receive an email from Pandemonium. Once you’ve reached a high enough level it is rumored that you can actually visit Pandemonium; as in a physical location not the website. One of the captured suspects claim that it’s a mansion and they were able to visit it once, after receiving an email that said “go for a walk”. The suspect claims he remembers looking out to the city as if they were hovering in the air.
In order to get to the bottom of the recent extraordinary happenings, we, Metropolitan Police Department Special Data Unit, hereby make an official request for the cooperation of The True Cross Order. As stated before the target demographic is junior high school students to college students, who spend a lot of their free time on the internet. They’ve been indiscriminately given supernatural powers through a website called “Pandemonium” Demons are the source of that power. Most of the people join the game out of curiosity and no one understand the true meaning of it. Not the fact that the powers they obtained belong to demons possessing them, or the fact that if they keep on using their powers, it will eventually eat away at their souls.
