Political Science
This department focuses on role playing itself - the core skills needed to work within common role playing systems and standards to collaboratively tell stories and achieve goals.
POL 101: Introduction to Political Science - This course teaches the very basics of what it is to Role Play with a focus on terminology, mechanics, and etiquette.
POL 201: Government Organization - This course covers the basics of GMing (running an RP) with a focus on improvisation, problem solving, management, and leadership skills. Prerequisite: POL 101
POL 301: Independent Study - This course engages the student in a special project coordinated with their tutor to create an RP plot. Prerequisite: POL 101, POL 201
POL 302: Statistical Policy - This course covers stat based RP systems and the intricacies of running a rigidly structured game. Prerequisite: POL 101, POL 201
POL 303: Narrative Policy - This course covers advanced narrative RP techniques and the special problems encountered when balancing plot, style, and players to create an engaging story. Prerequisite: POL 101, POL 201
POL 401: Internship - This course puts the student in a controlled working environment with an instructing supervisor to run the RP created in prerequisite courses. Prerequisite: POL 301, PSY 301, HIS 301
Psychology
This department focuses on aspects of character development and understanding human psychology to better portray varied, realistic characters.
PSY 101: Introduction to Psychology - This course teaches the basics of character creation covering topics such as: identity, perception, personality, and archetype as it applies to normal psychology with an emphasis on self analyzation.
PSY 201: Developmental Psychology - This course takes a deeper look at the foundations learned in PSY 101 and how they change over time to achieve character development within the course of an RP. Prerequisite: PSY 101
PSY 301: Independent Study - This course engages the student in a special project coordinated with their tutor to create a cast of NPC characters. Prerequisite: PSY 101, PSY 201
PSY 302: Abnormal Psychology - This course looks beyond what is considered 'normal' to discuss the implications of the non-conformist with particular emphasis on mental disorders. Prerequisite: PSY 101, PSY 201
Literature
This department focuses on the creative writing skills necessary to engage in the writing aspect of text based role play.
LIT 101: Introduction to Literature - This course covers the basics of English literacy and addresses primarily technical and content issues - basic grammar and awareness.
LIT 201: Detail and Logistics - This course covers descriptive detail and content logic so the writer may learn to 'show not tell' and make sense while doing it. Prerequisite: LIT 101
LIT 301: Survey of Styles - This course covers various writing styles and stylistic topics including but not limited to: flow, dialect, accents, pacing, and diction. Prerequisite: LIT 101, LIT 201
Kinesiology
This department focuses on the mechanics of action within an RP, how they work and how they can be described.
KIN 101: Introduction to Kinesiology - This course covers the basics of movement and physical interaction with an emphasis on skilled actions and combat techniques.
KIN 201: Survey of Combat Techniques - This course identifies and compares the basic features of several combat techniques common in RP: martial art styles, magic/high technology, simple weapons, and firearms. Prerequisite: KIN 101
KIN 202: Survey of Skilled Actions - This course identifies and compares the basic features of several skilled actions common in RP: acrobatics, appraisal, disguise, investigation, lock picking, sneaking, and many others. Prerequisite: KIN 101
KIN 203: Survey of Special Abilities - This course identifies and compares the basic features of several special abilities common in RP: magic, high technology, supernatural abilities, mutations, racial traits, and super powers. Prerequisite: KIN 101
History
This department focuses on aspects of world development and understanding the cycles of civilization to better portray varied, realistic worlds.
HIS 101: Historical Appreciation - This course covers the importance and basics of world development with focus on the microcosm and flat world.
HIS 201: Survey of Cultures - This course identifies and compares the basic features of several cultures common in RP: primitive, medieval/high fantasy, industrial/steampunk, modern, futuristic, apocalyptic, and dystopian. Prerequisite: HIS 101
HIS 301: Independent Study - This course engages the student in a special project coordinated with their tutor to create an RP world. Prerequisite: HIS 101, HIS 201
HIS 302: Historiography of Civilizations - This course discusses change in cultures over time with an emphasis on how civilizations rise, peak, and fall as well as the flexibility of historical 'fact'. Prerequisite: HIS 101, HIS 201
Marketing
This department focuses on marketing principles and techniques to help recruit players to your RP.
MRK 101: Introduction to Marketing - This course addresses the basic concepts of marketing with an emphasis on Gaian audiences. It will cover: writing for the web, audience awareness, branding, importance of graphics and organization, how to sell not spam, quality assurance, and building a customer base. Prerequisite:
MRK 201: Web Development - This course covers the basics of web design for marketing purposes. Languages: BB Code, HTML, CSS, PHP, SQL Prerequisite: MRK 101
MRK 202: Graphic Design for the Non-artist - This course teaches basic graphic design principles and programs as well as how to find and commission artists. Prerequisite: MRK 101
MRK 301: Relationship Marketing and Branding - This course is a companion course to POL 401 (Internship) and will guide the student through the recruiting process for their Internship RP. It will cover: where to post your ads and what to put on them, following forum/guild rules, and what to do if it seems like no one is interested. Prerequisite: MRK 101, POL 401 or an approved RP run by the student

This department covers the pedagogy of role play and general teaching skills. Specifically designed for new Tutors.
EDU 101: Introduction to Education - This course covers the basic principles of teaching with an emphasis on classroom management and lesson plan design.
