It just appeared on the door on the way out of the dorms - an inconspicuous posting. It may even have been a little weird, and offset to anyone who had no history with the country of Canada.
Regardless, anyone who was interested enough would have come to find that one of the portals had been actively set up to send those who had a bit of spare time on their hands, (and schedules,) to a quaint Tim Hortons in Somewhere Cold, Saskatchewan, Canada. The Frenchman had already gotten a little part of the store sectioned off for anyone who happened to be coming along for the ride, chilling in a chair lazily. It was a chance to just chill and have a small group of people who knew what you were talking about (unless you were Dorian and French was your native language.)
It was, also, an open invitation to try and your luck at the most frustrating game of a Canadian's year, okay.
OOC
This is just a little fun RP for the Canadian Hunters (and non-Canadians,) to hang out and do stupid things like freak out about Roll up the Rim, which is totally serious, guys. srs, and maybe talk about the Olympics if that's anything they're interested in.
For the sake of the RP, if your hunter does get a drink at Tim Hortons, they get the chance to "Roll up the Rim". Feel free to roll a 1d20, and use your prize as part of the rp prompt.
1-7; You win . . . the chance to try again - or as the cup says; "Please Play Again - Réessayez S.V.P."
7-12; You win a free coffee. So I mean, if you wanted more than one coffee, your seond one is free. Awesome.
12-17; You win a Donut, Muffin or Cookie. Awesome!
18-19; You won a 25$ Gift Card to Tim Hortons, which hey, is pretty sweet. That's like.. a trunk load of timbits, okay?
20; You win one of the Super awesome prizes! Not that you can actually .. you know.. bring it back to Deus. But, it is pretty awesome. (Dory can be your man slave for a day, if you're really that hurt about losing, though.)

Like any true Canadian spending an eternity away from home, Ripley missed his Timmy's. It had been such an integral part of his morning - and afternoon - and sometimes evening - okay he really liked Tim Horton's coffee - routines that it had been something of a shock to be denied it at first. Now he had an excuse to drink it again, and watch some good ol' Olympic Hockey! How could he possibly refuse? He couldn't, that's how.
So he took his leave, found the portal that took him straight to his favourite human world coffee shop, and nearly died of joy. He bought the biggest regular coffee he could, and then found his way to what he assumed was the section this Dorian person had commandeered for them.
"God, I never thought I'd be here again." Ripley sighed happily, taking one of the seats for himself. "But I think I can die happy now."

Finn wasn't all that big on coffee drinking, but that didn't mean he didn't have one, teeny tiny soft spot for that all-too Canadian doughnut and caffeinated beverage hub known only as Tim Horton's.
Oh wait, no, that was wrong. It was also Timmy's and Tim's, and perhaps many other nicknames brought upon by the younger generation who always seemed to all too eager to come up with their own verbal stamp on service industry cooperations
Whatever.
But there were six magical words that had drawn him in, and that combined with location, had him just as eagerly stamping his feet on the other side of the portal as any true blue Canuck, a blast of cold air that left him gasping and then laughing hitting him before he made his way quickly to sanctuary, to warmth and the smell of freshly baked goods and coffee, and the sounds of a t.v. against one wall giving a run down on Canada's Olympic achievements.
Gloved hands acquired the obligatory coffee, only a small, black, a nod and a smile of thanks given to the cashier that didn't reach his eyes, though a wink was tossed her way as well before he slid her a five dollar tip, and he turned to make his way over to the seats that Dorian had apparently already reserved for them all.
"Howdy." He gave each of the two men one of his winning grins before he plopped himself down in one of the incredibly cushy leather seats, of course as near to the television as he could possibly get, his cup going to the table that was set up in front of the chairs.
"When does the game start?"

Hooray!
People could read his half-assed writing. He was feeling kind of proud and it could be the caffeine already hitting him as he was kind of 2/3rds the way through his first delicious, beautiful, Canadian coffee, giving a content sigh. Giving a little wave, he welcomed Finn - who was familiar - and a new face to his little section of Timmies.
"Is pretty nice, oui? Kind of 'ome sweet 'ome, except that th'scenery is much flatter than What I am used to." He stated to the new body, going to give Finn a right thump on the back, grinning at him wickedly. "Game starts at crack-o-th' a** in th' morning, good friend. But, 'onestly it'll be nice to watch 'ockey live." He admitted, giving a little shrug before turning to the other face again. Sticking his gloved hand out, he decided to make friends.
And her guy was hosting this party and she was his tom she had to support him and this rim thing. Rim..job? She wasn't sure who this Tim Horton was but she figured they were important.
So she figured 'oh hey I'll go!'
When she stepped through the portal cold sucked away her ability to breathe and she made a bee line for the nearest shelter.
Which was the Horton's.
She just looked for Dory and when she saw him, she slunk over, looking very much confused at what she was looking at on a nearby table.
(It was poutine)

Finn received a half-hearted salute in greeting.
"Feels like forever. It could be two am and I'd still be here. Coffee, Hockey, and the good 'ol cold." Ripley heaved a heavy sigh, before taking a long swig of his coffee. When that was finished he set it down, holding the extra-large coffee between his hands. The warmth - and the smell - was refreshing, and strangely nostalgic.
Apparently, Timmy's put him in an honestly friendly, chatty mood.
"Pleasure's all mine, Dorian. I'm Ripley Crowell." He reached out with his own gloved hand to clasp Dorian's, his grip firm and sure, like the business man he somewhat was. The trainee leaned back once more, looking over at a familiar female form as she made her way in and, unsurprisingly, began to complain about the cold.
"Welcome to Canada, Solia." Ever the gentleman, he stood and slipped out of his jacket, offering it out to her. It was warmer in the coffee shop than it was outside, but he imagined she still needed to warm up.

"It is the a** crack of ******** dawn." But that was ok. Finn barely slept anyways, something his closest friends could attest to as it often meant they would be harassed at all hours of the night. Dory had surely been a victim of this particular Finn behaviour, Ripley certainly had been simply because the moon intermediate found tormenting the white haired death trainee both amusing and horribly satisfying.
Reaching for his cup of coffee, he peeled back the lid, eyes once locked on the tv screen now staring into the dark contents of the red paper cup that let off such a strong aroma.
He took a tentative sip. Bitter, and still too hot to simply gulp it down, the liquid burning down his throat as it was. But he was determined to finish. He was determined to have his chance to roll up the damn rim.
Oh hello new arrival! Ripley was quick to jump to her aid, but Finn had no qualms against adding his own two cents. "You just come and cuddle up to me, Sweetheart. I'll warm you right up."

Finn's lack of proper sleep schedule was largely the reason Ripley considered getting a nerf gun and lemon juice. The other man's quip made him roll his eyes. "Don't listen to him, he's an a**." Ripley told Solia, without bothering to lower his voice. "It'd be like cuddling a porcupine." He added in the same tone.
But he froze, for a moment, as the Sweden team rushed the Canadian net. The moment extended as the tables turned, and as Crosby scored, Ripley joined the crowd in a cheer.
"HELL YEAH-!" The Trainee cheered, one gloved hand pumping into the air.

Finn abruptly decided to ignore everyone because suddenly there was a hockey game to pay attention to.
Oh wait it was a commercial break.
"That's not what you said to me last night, Ripples~" As always, it was impossible to tell Finn's true feelings or just how funny he thought he was being as he turned away from the tv and levelled Ripley with a cold stare, while taking a long sip of his coffee.
Which was apparently all it took to suddenly drain the tiny cup.
Rim time.
Please play again.
"God damnit. COFFEE MAID! ANOTHER!" Finn dropped his cup on the floor and waited for the cashier he'd tipped earlier to service him as only was expected.

"Down, boy." He drawled, meeting the cold stare and suggestive words with a disinterested roll of his eyes. Most of his attention was on the game now, the thrill of the match enough to melt away some of his own natural cold. This whole thing was nostalgic, and he was thoroughly enjoying it, even with Finn's snark.
He sipped on his own coffee, making short work of the large cup. He'd probably regret it later, but for now, he was delighted. Finn's next display came as a huge surprise, and the generally stoic man had to fight to keep from grinning. He understood that reference. That was pretty cool.
"Alright Huckleberry, calm down, you're not Thor." He shook his head slowly as if disappointed, and rolled the rim - Free Donut, Muffin or Cookie! Sweet. The moment the opportunity presented itself he got up to grab a second coffee, this time using his freebie to grab a muffin while he was at it.
He did not, however, get another coffee for Finn.

Of course he wasn't Thor. He was Odin.
Ripley might have refused to grin, but Finn held no such reservations this early Sunday morning and he smiled broadly, letting out a light chuckle to himself as he bent down and retrieved his cup.
Only to oh so casually toss it at Ripley's head when the other man left to get another coffee, before getting up to go and buy his own because clearly a certain cashier hadn't been worth the tip.
Another small, black coffee in hand, Finn settled in to watch the game again. "I think I might just take the whole day off." He announced, to nobody in particular.
"It's good to be home." Or close, at least. They were in the province that neighboured his own, and he liked to think that if he gazed over the expanse of flat land, he might even be able to see where he used to live.
Oh Saskatchewan.

"Guy-man you didn't say anything about cold." She fussed at Dory before Ripley earned the most happiest of looked at the offer for a coat. One that was very quickly accepted, (even if it didn't fit and hung off her quite a bit). "Thank you Ripley! I'm afraid when I thought Canada I didn't expect well." She didn't expect to need to bundle up quite so much.
Finn got a look of 'Oh cuddle up yes that sounds nice and warm and not at all nefarious' until Ripley said that it would be like a porcupine cuddling. She wasn't sure she liked that idea, but, warmth did call to her. Cheering about a game on a TV, Finn cursing and dropping his cup and Solia just stood at the table, a bit unsure what exactly was going on.
In the end, she sat herself between Finn and Ripley, not quite in range to cuddle next to either of them, but enough that if she really felt cold she could. Maximize cuddle options. "So ah, pardon, mais, ce qui est retrousser jante? Er, sorry, roll the rim? Is this a um.. thing? Is this Tim Horton's residency?"
He'll get you back for that, Finn. He'll get you back..
"Same~" The Trainee agreed to his friend's announcement. He had already put in for the day off, especially since he imagined they'd still dock him the whole day anyway, even if he only took a few hours for the game. Plus, Finn was right; it was good to be home. A little further west than he was accustomed to, but home nonetheless.
"That's surprising, actually." Someone didn't expect Canada to be cold? Weird. But Solia received a small smile in return regardless, followed shortly by a little sideways shuffle to allow her to sit between himself and his friend.
"It's - no, Tim Horton's is a very successful, very popular franchise here in Canada." Ripley explained to the girl, understanding that she was, in a word, confused. "Mostly for their coffee and doughnuts." He added, turning his unopened coffee to show her. "Roll-up-the-rim is a promotion. You literally roll up the rim on their coffee cups to see if you've won something." Normally he would have shown her, but, well, he hadn't finished his coffee yet.

Finn suddenly didn't give a s**t about anything around him. The game had taken another break and he was staring at his cup.
".........THERE'S TWO RIMS!!" He exclaimed, loudly, shoving his way off of the couch to go find his discarded cup, likely pushing Solia onto Ripleys lap in the process.
Solia did indeed land rather passively on Ripley. She didn't mind really, just kind of looking up at her fellow death trainee. "Oh." That was all she said, going quite, face contorting a bit as she thought.
"So you get cups of coffee and ah, roll the rims but there are two rims?" She wasn't sure if that was why Finn had darted off like he had. Probably.
"Do you have to drink the coffee?"
Israfel asked why that was important. Solia told him it was because depending, it could end badly or completely okay.
