It was unclear as to just who had mentioned a certain battle having recently taken place (probably Finn or Abbi) and normally, Fini wouldn't have paid much attention beyond that. Except to make sure those she kind of liked weren't dead. But wind of this particular battle had caught her interest. And so she decided that perhaps she'd go pay Ripley a visit in the infirmary. Plus, she totally felt his pain. Quite literally. She had a lovely scar to prove it, too. However the catch to it all was, planning this little visit while Finn was busy.
She was a terrible person, yes. And didn't want to explain (not yet anyways) why she was so interested in hearing about Ripley versus a horseman.
Shaheen you ******** b***h.
So after she'd had patrol duty and showered, taking a little time to braid her long hair, Fini found the perfect opportunity to make a trip to the infirmary. She probably was not on the top five list of who poor Ripley may have expected to see - then again, what did she know - and it made her exhale a small breath she'd not known she'd been holding when she didn't see any familiar faces lurking about. Fini moved quietly towards the bed the other trainee was confined to, curious if he was awake or not. Enoh Love I made us a thing mrgreen

Ripley had barely managed to port out in time. One more hit and he would have been a goner, which was something he understood without needing to be told. He knew what it felt like to have his shield shatter, and to only barely escape; it was why he counted himself incredibly fortunate in the moments he was somewhat conscious. The time between the moment he hit Deus soil and the moment he woke up the first time in the infirmary was a blur, though he thought he remembered seeing familiar faces, hearing a few words spoken, and feeling the warmth of hand on his.
He also remembered, vaguely, the strange feeling of relief to find out that Fini wasn't in the infirmary, and that the nameless face he had spoken to didn't remember hearing about the death or disappearance of anyone by that name. A gnawing worry told him there was still a chance, but it was nice to hear nonetheless. When he woke up more conscious than he had been prior, he had to wonder if he had dreamed the whole thing. No matter how hard he tried to remember, everything that happened in the past day or so was a totally unreliable blur.
Which made it all the more surprising to see a blurry shape standing beside him, the colour of their hair and their relative stature suggesting that this person was likely Fini, but he couldn't tell for sure: he didn't have his glasses on, and had no idea where they were. But who else with greyish hair would visit him in the infirmary? Only one person fit that bill.
"...Fini?" He asked, unsure, after a few long moments of silence as he thought. "Is this another dream?"

He looked pretty beat up, she gave him that. And knowing who he'd been fighting, it was no surprise to her. Maybe it was more surprising he'd made it back in one piece and alive. As he started to move, Fini offered him a smile that turned into a rude snort and a less nice smirk. "Hell, if this is a dream... we're not doing half bad so far." Nothing pretending to be her in a different life. Though this one did have some relation to a horseman. Again.
Fini moved closer and gave Ripley's arm a good pinch. "Did that hurt? Cause I'm pretty sure we're in the correct reality now."
Pausing for a moment, Fini couldn't help the urge to wave her hand in front of Ripley's face. Like he was blind or sleeping. But really, she'd just never seen him without his glasses on. Speaking of which... she spotted them on the little table next to his bed. "Just how much can you see without these?" The sun trainee asked, dangling them in front of his face.
Yeah. She was a much nicer visitor then Finn, right?!
"Sooo... you met your first horseman, I hear." Fini said after another awkward moment of silence. "And survived."

That voice was definitely Fini's.
"As long as this isn't a bad porno universe." Ripley murmured, rubbing his face with one hand and pausing just long enough to look at her blurry form between his fingers. "Then again." He added with an amused snort - which turned into a hiss of pain as she pinched his aching arm. Well, that answered that. He shook his head, and then paused as he realized there was something waving in front of him.
"What are you doing?" He inquired flatly, trying to bat her hand away with his uninjured one. Moments later he realized that the hand had vanished and his glasses were dangled in it's place, and he happily took the frames from her, fitting them back onto his face. "Enough." It was the only answer she was going to get unless she insisted that he elaborate.
When it went silent, he knew what she would be asking next; it didn't come as a surprise to him. Why else would she be here? Even if she didn't know it was a horseman that had attacked him, they were friends; it was only natural she'd want to know what happened. He reminded himself of this and sighed, rubbing his face again but this time skewing his glasses.
"Barely, yes." Stupid Horseman. Stupid horseman that alluded to his friend being hurt, and putting him in the position of worrying for her safety. Injuries aside, that was a low blow. His hand slid from his face and his amber eyes searched to find hers. "Shaheen says hi." He almost didn't want to tell her that, but he felt it was important. "She said she has plans for you." The look he gave her told it all; he wanted to know what that was about, or what happened.

Bad porno. Good one, Ripley! Fini had to laugh at that. Which only died a little at his hiss of pain when she pinched him. "Ooooh~ So is that the type of things you dream about, Ripples?" She asked innocently enough. "Kinky man." She added in.
His attempts to bat her hand away only made her little minx-like grin get worse, which was probably to his benefit in not being able to see. "Just checking your reflexes." She lied, waiting for him to snatch the glasses - that she of course made difficult for him to get - and smiling when they were finally placed on his face. Fini gave him a small wave now that he could see her properly. "Clearly!" He probably wouldn't have been able to catch the glasses if she threw them at him, she bet.
It wasn't that she only came to get information out of him. She was concerned about the man. He was becoming one of those people she considered friend and felt she could trust, if only a tiny bit. But in this particular case, Fini had to know what happened. And was sincerely grateful Ripley was alive.
Whatever playfulness had been on her features were gone when he spoke, a surprisingly Finn-like stony expression replacing it. And then she couldn't look him in the eyes, letting her gaze fall. Couldn't meet the questioning (or demanding) look. Nor did she let him see how much that last statement unnerved her. Shaheen.... It took much more effort then she cared to admit to look back at her friend. "I imagine 'hi' was not quite the way she phrased it." Fini tried for a little humor.
Sighing, she scooted the uncomfortable chair they placed by the patient beds - probably in hopes of keeping visitors from lingering for long periods - and slumped in it in a very unladylike manner. "Did you know, that's not the first 'alternate universe' I've had to experience?" She asked conversationally. "And probably won't be the last." This was muttered under her breath. Light blue eyes met amber ones. "I'm pretty sure Shaheen is not the only horseman that has a thing or two against me. She just has the most reasons for it. Though I'm sure having a relationship with a close horseman friend of hers may have something to do with that."

"You have no idea." Ripley murmured, though as soon as he said it he wasn't sure if he should have. There were many reasons behind this second thought, first and foremost being that this woman was dating his island equivalent of his best friend. Abbi had been his second reason, though she had only been in that order simply because he had no idea where they stood.
"You spend too much time with Finn." He went on to grumble as she 'checked his reflexes', finding a small amount of victory when he finally regained his glasses. It was a struggle he did not miss from his school days. The Trainee frowned at her for a moment, snorting a little bit at her little wave once he could see properly. "Adorable." He drawled sarcastically, rolling his eyes before rubbing one hand along his face again. The teasing seemed to be over though, and Ripley wasn't sure he was glad for it; on one hand, she would have less of a chance to rag on him for his glasses, but on the other...crazy horsemen.
"I paraphrased." He admitted quietly, shifting a bit to watch the way she sat down, again giving her a little bit of a look over now that the situation had changed; body language was everything to him, after all. This conversation was not going to be promising, he could tell that already. It did surprise him to hear that alternate universes seemed to be a thing, and even more surprising was to hear that Fini had the negative attention of a few others like the golden horseman he had encountered.
"...Define relationship."

Fini just gave Ripley a curious look that may have held a bit of devilry in it as well. Oh she was definitely going to tease him for some time about that! And might say a thing or two to Finn about those... dreams Ripley may or may not be having. Of course maybe she'd give the poor guy a small break too, considering his current state.
Mention of spending 'too much time' with Finn only had her laughing. "Just means I've built up a better defense against him." She countered, smirking when he finally snatched the glasses. "And why thank you, I know I am." Fini grinned angelically. Before things took a more serious note. Which had her expression taking a more subdued and exasperated look. It was bound to have come up one day, she figured. At least it was Ripley she was talking with. And okay it made her feel a little guilty about not mentioning any of it to Finn before.
The trainee made a rude sound. "I would imagine so. She never has anything quite so... charming to say about me." Fini muttered, shifting a bit uncomfortably in her chair. Has something planed, does she? That made her skin crawl a little.
Now Ripley would receive an almost dirty look. "And here, I thought you were the one with all the brains." She crossed her arms, looking just beyond him. "Y'know... the dating, kissing, doing certain things kind?" Were her cheeks a lot little red? Why yes, yes they were. "And me and pony b***h were really good friends. Soooo... she's a tad upset that Lan and I had any sort of 'thing', alternate universe or not." Don't you dare ask her for specifics, Ripley! She would murder you first.

Ripley raised his hands in defense, as far as his injuries would allow which, admittedly, was not very far at all. "There is more than one type of relationship." After all, it could have been a friendly one, an unfriendly one, a history, or even sarcasm - though he did strongly suspect it was of the romantic variety. He took one look at her face and saw how red it was, and gave a rather amused breath before looking away, if only to let her preserve her modesty about it.
"So we're back to the bad porno." He snorted again, still quite amused, and looked back at her finally. "So she's raging against you for something that never honestly happened?" It didn't make much sense; what made more sense to him was the rage was simply because of the affiliation. "I'd never heard of the Horsemen before this..."
