I'm not sure where this story got away from random toilet humor and somewhat cliched villains into interesting characters and rather deep storiezzz, but I like that it did. Webcomics oft' take such weird routes.

Webcomics are often not restricted by some business model, so they are allowed to take weird routes.

Or evil, bent on revenge, and capable of disguise magic. Well... Intentionally ruining somebody's life is often done as a mean of revenge. Though, it may also be done for the laughs.
