Tropo wandered about, completely lost. It wasn't exactly atypical for him. However, as he almost never recalled having been lost before, it was always an interesting and new experience. Well, always a new one, at least. For the moment, he was in a good enough mood. The woods were quiet around him, and he felt good. He found a streamlet and sipped. Thirst quenched, he trotted on a bit longer. Then he found a bush with some purple berries. They looked yummy. If he had ever known that such berries were poisonous, he had long since forgotten. Unaware anyone else was around, he bent, reaching to take a large mouthful.

 "Stop!" Freyja shouted out from the stream where she was taking a drink. "Don't eat those! Don't you know they're poisonous?" She looked at the vacant looking stallion. He'd almost eaten a mouthful of poisonous berries and he still looked so...clueless.

Tropo looked up from the bush, one ear flicking in confusion. "Poisonous?" He asked. "Who is Poisonu, and why won't he share?" he asked a bit sadly. "They look juicy and sweet, surely he or she wouldn't miss just one? Would he? Or she? Do you she me now?" he giggled, but then shook his head. "No, I won't take berries that belong to someone else, even of they are a grumpyhooves about it. But i do wish she would share. Or he. He he.

Freyja arched a delicate eyebrow. This soquili had no brains, it just wasn't possible. How could he not understand what she was saying. She used her motherly voice to try to explain to him. "Poisonous isn't a person or soquili. It's a word. It means no good. If you eat something that is poisonous it will kill you. Dark berries like those," she nodded. "You need to remember they're bad. I believe they call them Nightlock."

"Who calls them Nightlock?" he asked, tilting his head to one side. "Who is they? Who are they? How could they possibly know?" he felt his ears twitching. He looked at the other Soq, not quite knowing why his head was bopping along. All he knew was that he was having a fantastic time, and she was here, so she must the reason he was having fun! (Yes, that was a song lyric.)

Maybe this had not been the best laid out of plans. There were questions, she simply could not even pretend to know the answers to. "Those are questions for the Universe, something that you need to figure out on your own and not things that I can explain to you." She already had the feeling that she was going to have to explain more.
"You should go on a journey, try to figure them out. You need to understand things in your own way, however you learn best." Which was very obviously questions he didn't intend to listen to the answers to.

Perhaps it would be best to back away very slowly for a few feet and then run. She wasn't sure how to answer him satisfactorily--or even at all. What must it be like to be trapped in a mind like that?

You should put something on your hooves to protect them from the evil slippers. Ruby slippers must be the worst. Ruby is a... spoiler? What's a spoiler? Is it like a slipper? Once Upon A Time, a slipper and a spoiler walked into a bar. Why would they do that?"

Freyja stood very still look at the flutter male. He seemed to be fighting with himself about things--meanings and implications. He kept tossing words around that made little or no sense to her. "Please, just calm down," she said in her best soothing voice. "Breathe deep in, and deep out. You need to learn to calm yourself. Is that helping?" She wasn't even sure if he'd try it.

"Breathe deep, seek peace?" he asked, breathing in deeply and out deeply, rapidly. In..... out..... in, out, in out inoutinoutinout....he began to hyperventilate. His vision swam and he staggered, breathing in and out as deeply and as quickly as he could.

Freyja took a deep breathe, "No. No. Not like that. Do what I'm doing." She looked into his eyes and breathed deeply and slowly, then exhaled just as slowly. "Calm." She breathed again trying to demonstrate how to do it. She did not want him to pass out on her.

He looked into her eyes and breathed the same way. "Calm," he repeated, trying to so everything exactly as she was doing it. It was hard, she was so still, he wanted to move, to bounce to... something...

"That's right," she said evenly. "Just like that," she kept the breathing even. He was a piece of work. He didn't seem to know how to be still. But he needed to learn at least some. He had to know how to handle himself and not freak out. Controling his emotions was the beginning.
