RaemosQuote: Got: +2 Copper +2 Silver +2 Leather Quote: Before you lies a market, filled with many merchants all calling out their wares to get your attention. You notice that there are several hunters here who have set up booths or laid out blankets with the trophies from their kills. What brought you here, did a teacher ask you to go buy something for them, have you come for something for yourself or just because you are bored?

Tukyere was not a place Raemos was entirely comfortable with. He didn't like hybrids, especially Oblivionite hybrids. They reminded him that his traits - his lack of eyes, his dark skin and hair, and his lack of wings - were not just a fluke. They had other traits as well, brought from their nonoblivionite parent, as well, but they only served to highlight what Raemos did have in common, the traits that made him not-an-orderite. He knew he could probably go about undisguised - his goggles and wrap garnered him even stranger looks in a city where the dirty little secrets of fullbloods could be put on display and accepted. What did he have to hide, he knew they wondered, in a place like this? But he was here, walking its streets, alone. Rae had been taking on more things alone lately, trying to show his parents that he could do things without their supervision and guidance. He had volunteered to go to the Tukyere market and sell their meat. His parents - even Sonia - were not entirely comfortable in Tukyere as full-blooded orderites, so they hadn't fought him about it as much. He had arrived the day before and sold off his meat, and now he had some money to buy supplies in its market. And he loved the Tukyere market.

Quote: Roll a d100. 1-50: He has Bronze to sell. 51-100: He has Copper to sell. This impressive looking gatherer is badly wounded; from the sling and brace that he wears it appears his collar bone is broken. Perhaps because he cannot hunt for a while, he has taken to selling some of his personal items and materials to tide him over. You recognize the metal bars as being useful for forging items. You may converse with him while you peruse his wares and create any conversation you wish, you may also merely quietly look at his wares and only ask how much; this is entirely up to you. You may either leave the stall and go visit another one, if you do so and then come back, your first roll will still apply, or you may talk with the stall keeper and buy the items now. Reward: x2 Bronze or Copper Bars You will need to write 200 words for this prompt alone for him to sell to you, any less and you will not receive the items.

Raemos was slightly overwhelmed by all the sights and sounds and smells. It was a good kind of overwhelmed, the sort that he didn't mind having. He purchased things here and there, various useful items, interesting small trinkets, and - of course - basic supplies for surivinv in a ranch in the middle of the desert - the sort of things he could bring back to his family.
One stall in particular caught Raemos's gaze, the shine of the metal bars piercing the vague haze that his goggles put over everything. He walked up, investigating, turning the metal bars over in his hand, his mind churning. He had been planning - for some time now - to give crafting a try. He hadn't come up with any specific ideas as of yet, but those metal bars could be put up to a variety of uses.
There were many kinds of metal represented here, and he wondered what he should get to experiment with. He asked the price, bracing himself for the inevitably high price of the canny trader. It certainly was high - high enough that he would have to limit his purchase to two bars. "I'll take these." he said, holding up the cheapest bars. He haggled the merchant down as far as they would go and left, the metal jangling in his pocket as his money jangled in the merchant's hands. He tried to hide his wince. That had been an awful lot of the money from the meat, right there. He would have to be careful, or else his father would be upset with him again for overspending...

Raemos was wondering if he shouldn't save some money to go see the famous Tukyere tree when the merchant waved him over. Interested, Raemos complied. He was, after all, here to shop, not to sightsee.
"You, boy. You look like a discerning customer." said the man beckoning him over. He was an Orderite/oblivionite hybrid, his heritage plain from his hollow sockets and glowing soul orbs, and the familiar orderite tattoos among the many that graced his torso. Raemos shifted uncomfortably and looked away from the man's sockets... they were too much like his own. "Now, my wife and me, we have a dispute over whose wares people want more. She weaves cloth, and I tan hides." he set out a bolt of hide and a bolt of cloth and set them next to each other. "Now, see, here's what you need to do. Pick one and buy the one you want. That'll settle things, right dear?" he called back into the stall. An orderite woman looked up from her weaving and smiled. "Yes. I think it would. He's random enough to make a decision, I think." she looked Raemos over and smiled, "Well, dear, which would you want?" Raemos, surprised and intrigued at the game, took a look at the hide and the cloth. Both were useful in their own ways, but the cloth was very plain, while the leather hide had an interesting color to it... He hesitated. "Is this a trick?" he asked amiably, "to get me to buy your wares? Not that they aren't fine wares..." The merchant laughed. "Sort of!" he said, "But I'll discount you." Raemos frowned. "Well, I'd buy both. My sister is a tailor, you see, and would love some of that." he gestured to the cloth, "But I think my father would appreciate some leather..." he thought for a moment, "If I were to come by here later on..." he asked thoughtfully, "With some raw sheron and kugel hides... would I be able to sell them to you to tan?" the hides were well tanned and of good quality and Raemos wanted to see if he could try suggesting something on his own too. Raemos' had a good feeling about this man and the idea that was cooking in his head. It would, after all, be nice to have a consistent buyer for their hides, someone who could help them turn a profit... And why not this man? His wife, at least, seemed trustworthy.
"Sure!" said the hunter, "Be a bit easier than hunting down the beasts, why? You a rancher, boy?" "Yes. In the desert, not too far from here." the man clapped. "Well, then! You hear that, love? I might have me a source of good domestic hides." he reached out a hand. Raemos raised his hands in the typical surrender sign. "I need to ask my father first..." he looked back at the wares. "But, to remind me, I'll take one of the leathers..." he made the transaction, noting the low price. "There, with your discount." said the hunter, handing Rae two leather hides, "Half off, so i gave you two. So you'll remember old Ondin when you drop by next time. I need more business, see, and your idea might help us both. Stop by and let us know what your pa says..." His wife sighed. "Lets hope he says yes." she tapped her husbands arm, "In the meantime, I say that doesn't count. Find another customer." they all laughed and Raemos moved on, waving back at them. He'd have to find them again, definitely.

DraconicFeline Quote: 1-50: He has Amber to sell 51-100: He has Silver to sell This tall thin man has a receding hair line and hands that show the calluses of a craftsman instead of a warrior. His clothes are elegant and expensive looking. His wares are mostly semi-precious to precious stones, but lying amid the glittering stones are 3 chunks of Amber or some orbs of Silver. While they are pretty and can be made into decorative pieces, you remember a peer or teacher remarking that they can be used in potions or enchants. Raemos moved on to peruse the stall of a... he wasn't quite sure what the tall jeweler was. Though the man didn't have the empty sockets of an oblivionite, he had the darkened skin and hair of one, and the horns of a dovaa and - he coudl see behind him - a single pair of feathered wings. It was a mishmash of traits, but somehow it worked for him. He had a proud and noble bearing that drew Raemos into the stall.
He couldn't afford jewelery or gems at this point, and he still needed to buy the supplies he was supposed to get, but Raemos was not immune to the lure of shiny objects. Far from it. If he could only afford these things.
The hybrid gave him a cursory and incredulous look. "I doubt you can afford those." he said, as Raemos inspected a necklace.
"I definitely can't." said Raemos, keeping up a veneer of friendliness as he set the necklace down, "I'm just looking. Don't mind me."
The expression on the man's face told Rae that he most certainly minded, and Raemos wondered how a hybrid became so snooty. Shouldn't they all be fairly good tempered? Hybrids faced such hardships... one would think that all the meanness would be beaten out of them or something... Well, it was probably his oblivionite blood.
Raemos shrugged. "So. Is there anything I could afford?" he asked, not wanting to just leave after being treated so rudely. He didn't want to give the man a hard time... But he actually did.
The hybrid thought for a moment. "Yes." he said, taking out two pieces of silver ore, "You can probably afford this." he stated the price, and Raemos was suddenly very interested. Silver was a useful metal - he could really put it to good use. And it was a good price.
Raemos bargained it down lower because he didn't like the man enough to play the fool, only giving in when the man looked like he was about to explode from wrath. He left, tucking the two pieces of silver ore into his pack, feeling a little smug... and a bit guilty too.
