It wasn't unusual for Shrill X and Singsong to spend their school lunch time together. More often then not they kept to themselves (Shrill X’s list of friends was stunningly low, not that she cared) and played out their own little games, away from the rest of the crowd. Today they were playing ‘Damsel-in-Distress’ with Sing being the damsel and Shrill X being the superhero, defeating the bag guys with some super serious martial arts prowess. Shrill X wasn't paying attention to whomever else was around, but they were being watched. A group of popular girls had sat down in a circle nearby and they were keeping an eye on the two sisters as they whispered between each other.

Singsong was playing up the damsel role like a practiced pro. She and Shrill X played this game so much, nowadays she wore her own princess crown made out of paper and lots of tape. It was definitely one of her favorite games to play when they broke for lunch. Singsong just loved all the attention Shill X showered upon her during this game. She might be fighting invisible foes, but Singsong flushed with delight as Shrill X swooped in to beat the final boss and rescue her from it's clutches. It was quite the show she was always happy to be a part of!
But today, just as she was wailing for rescue on top of the picnic table, she noticed just across the way they had onlookers! And they weren't just any phonies on the playground, they were the popular girls! The girls Singsong secretly wanted to be friends with but would never tell Shrill X or her other siblings. This sort of girls tended to be on the snooty side and considered themselves all high-and-mighty, but boy there was just something about them that made Singsong want to join their little gang. At least for a little while...Ruriska Hehe~ I love our sisters >u> <3<3

Shrill X wouldn’t have noticed their audience even if they’d settled in with deckchairs and pizza. She was in hero mode, her powerful kicks shattering the armour of her nemesis, the ancient Dragon Kin, Garguldor. There was no way she would let her princess be used as a sacrifice to summon Cthulu. Not on her watch! She had just delivered the final blow and looked up towards her damsel, only to find her sister hadn't even been watching. Breathing heavily from her exertion, she clambered up onto the picnic table and turned a baleful stare towards whatever it was Singsong seemed to find so interesting, but all she could see were those annoying popular girls. Popular girls that had just stood up and were approaching the table. Popular girls that were flicking their hair back, smiling and asking, "so, like, do you wanna play with us?"

Singsong was transfixed on the pretty little phonies right across the way from them. "Huh?" She asked her sister. She heard her voice but didn't really actually pick up on what she was mumbling about. Instead, the little filly was focused on what color eyeshadow the popular fillies were wearing and what made them look so pretty each and every day.
Singsong scooched over for her sister to have the same amount of space on their trusty picnic table. But as she made enough room for her sister, Singsong still didn't tell her who had stolen attention from the best sister ever. It probably would of been kind of weird if she did tell Shrill X. She had never been a fond of joining that elite class.
Speaking of elite, the school yard royalty was heading towards them right now!
Little Singong gasped and quickly straightened up as they approached and stopped before their 'throne'. "U-Us? Play with you?" The green-haired lass looked at her sister but didn't really take into if she wanted to or not and just looked at the fancy girls and quickly nodded, "Yes! Sure! We'd love to!"
Ever so carefully she climbed down from the playpen instead of leaping down, "So!" Singsong huffed from all her running around, "What are you girls playing?"

‘No way!’, was what Shrill X had been about to say, accompanied by some derisive laughter, but then she caught the excited gleam in her sister’s eyes and her mouth snapped shut before the words could come out. She glowered sourly at the popular girls, who ignored her in favour of Singsong. The lead girl’s smile broadened and she flicked her hair back. “We’re playing Desperate Pet Shop Housewives. You get to be one of the housewives and complain about your husband and kids, while running a pet shop. It’s really fun. Your sister can be the dog.” Shrill X bared her teeth and said, “woof”. If Singsong wanted to play with the popular girls, she would try and put up with it, but she didn’t have to like it. “I gotta go to the bathroom first. I’ll be back in a sec.” She trotted off towards the school building without another word.

Singsong tilted her head to the side at the curiously named game title, "Desperate Pet Shop Housewives?" She never heard of a game like that before and it didn't sound all that fun. But this was her chance to play with the popular girls! She was always wondering what was going on whenever they were huddling together and now was her chance. The golden chance!
But then they shifted the balance and it immediately didn't feel right. "Shrill X has to be a dog? Why's that?" Her sister certainly didn't resemble the furry pet so why did she have to play one? It didn't sound very fun if she was the only one that had to be it. "I-Is everyone a dog?""Heh, nope. She gets to play the special role! You can be her housewife owner." One of the cronies piped up as the gaggle of fillies watched Shrill X go. "But if she doesn't come back I guess you might have to be the dog." Singsong peeked over the crowd at her sister with hope that she'd quickly return. Maybe Shrill X would like to play a dog? They always looked like they were having a fun time rolling in the mud or barking at mailphonies. Singsong didn't exactly think she was right for the role of a puppy dog. She was too shy for it. The little filly just wanted to be like all the other girls. It would be nice to blend in with them for once.
She giggled lightly and glanced back at the girls, "I guess it just doesn't seem very nice to make her the dog, ya know?" Maybe if she laughed and joked about it they would too? Maybe if would change their minds?

The assembled girls did indeed laugh, but it was a nasty sound, complete with sly glances being shared between each other. "But she suits the dog role perfectly," one said. "I heard she even bit someone once," another chimed in. "If she turns rapid we’ll have to put her down," a third joked. They all fell into a high-pitched fit of giggling.

"Hehe, yeah, she's so weird! I don't know how anyone can stand that girl's voice. It's so annoying!" Another added. One of the girls smirked and quirked a brow at Singsong, "Come on, you must have something to say about your sister. Doesn't she get on your nerves? I mean really, how can you deal with that 24/7? She's so noisy and dirty!" Singsong was absolutely stunned by these mean girls. She just stood there, mouth agape, and stared at them as they snickered and sneered.
How could they say such things?! Such terrible words! And they were about her sister! The best sister a girl could ask for! Who was always at her side. Singsong was a shy lass but this was just too much!
"You're a bunch of brats!"
All the kids on the playground stopped what they were doing and turned their eyes onto the curly green-haired filly. Never had they heard her raise her voice before! And she sounded so angry!
Singsong didn't pay any mind to the sudden attention and stamped her hooves at the filly. "My sister is the greatest! No, the best! And if you don't think so then I don't even wanna look at you much less play with you!"
She had wanted so badly to be apart of their circle but now Singsong could see they were absolutely terrible. Just a rotten bunch of fillies!

There was a surprised silence from the gathered girls. They certainly hadn't expected such an outburst. Eventually one of them stepped forward and shrugged nonchalantly. "Look, we like you, but you're sister is a weirdo. You'll never be part of our group if you want to stick by her." Across the field, Shrill X had finally appeared again (after having idled away some time in the toilet) and was walking towards them. "So like, choose or whatever? Don't you want to be popular?"

Singsong frown deepened as they added 'weirdo' to the pile of mean words that the girls thought fit her sister. How dare they!
"When I wanted to be a part of your group I thought you were nice and sweet. But you're all a bunch of bullies! And I don't like or want to be around bullies."
And that was that.
Before the girls could get in another word Singsong trotted off with her head held high. She quickly beelined it over to Shrill X and threw her front hooves around the filly's neck when they were close enough.
She hugged her best friend good and tight. "Thanks Shrill for being such a wonderful sister. I'm sorry I put you in a bad position with those girls...they're absolutely rotten. Can you forgive me?"
Singsong had seen the error of her ways. Now she was trying to make up for such a lousy mistake.

"Huh?" Shrill X said, peered over Singsong's shoulder as they hugged and stared at the group of fillies. They were glowering back. "You sure you don't want to play with them?" She asked, even as she watched the group walking away towards the playground. Good riddance. It was a relief not to have to deal with a bunch of nasty air-heads. Shrill X hugged her sister back, even giving an extra few pats for good measure. "Sure thing, I forgive you. Don't know what for, but I'd forgive you anything. Come on, let's play superhero and villain. You can even be the superhero this time." She frowned as her brain kicked into gear. "Hey wait, were they mean to you? I'll beat 'em up if I have to." Ac.Wings We can probably end this in one or two posts. <3

Singsong solemnly nodded, "They aren't the kind of girls I thought they were. Besides, we always have WAY more fun just the two of us."
She happily snuggled close to her sister, "Thanks sis. Ya know, you're my best friend and no one is gonna change that. No mean fillies are ever gonna stand in our way. Promise."
The little lass's eyes lit up at Shrill X's idea. "Are you sure? You play the hero so well! But...Yes please! I'll be Wonder Mare! With her golden hoof of truth! If I touch you then you can't lie about anything."
Singsong grinned and raced off towards their usual spot on the playground, completely ignoring her sister's question. She had managed to take care of herself when it came to those mean fillies and stand by her dear sister. Other than getting even, there was no point in sending Shrill X after them. Her older sibling was a fierce phony! Those girls wouldn't stand a chance against her. Probably would of been a cruel thing to do...Besides, Singsong preferred the role of a superhero than a villain any day. Ruriska I love these sisters so much. ;u; <3 Thanks so much Ruri! You can finish it off if you want to or we can leave it right here. >u< <3<3
