The basis for the hanging gardens area is a largish stretch of land, currently unoccupied and zoned for development in the future.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 20, 2014 5:04 am

Ronnel arrived at the construction site and looked around slowly, taking in the size of the area that he had to work with. It was a small field, necessary due to the way Soragakure had originally been designed, so space was definitely at a premium. But that made his job both more difficult, and more enticing - he would have to figure out how to best utilize this space in order to truly create something that would serve as an uplifting sight to the villagers of the downed city. And after their taking him in despite his clan's disapproved state, well, he'd do his best to make sure that they saw that Hanaya weren't all bad, or disreputable. No, what he did here would be the start of restoring his family's original good name. But how to do it when the space was only half an acre?

The white haired shinobi pondered on this question for a while as he studied the area that he had for this attraction. Then he looked at the nearby buildings, and he snapped his fingers as a thought sprang to his mind, something that he could use to creatively counter the issue. It would take some doing, but then again, he wasn't supposed to be working on this alone, now was he? The shinobi grinned widely at his thought, and headed to where the contractors that he was supposed to be working with had been waiting to see what idea he had.

When he finished describing what he wanted to do, the head contractor simply stared at him in shock, before nodding and saying that what he wanted could be done. It would take only a short amount of time, as they had someone who could use low level Doton techniques to create earth walls, which could be shaped to suit most desires, and what Ronnel wanted was definitely within the washed out kunoichi's capabilities. Ronnel grinned and rubbed his hands together, not noticing the woman's slight blush as he spoke with her.

It had taken over an hour, and several breaks for the poor woman who had been corralled into helping him, but finally, Ronnel's envisioned plans for this little area were coming to fruition. While not much to look at yet, the area had been divided between two large structures that each spanned nearly a third of the allotted space that they had to work with. But the medical shinobi had come up with a creative way of getting around the limited space.

He had gone upwards. While he would have preferred to spread out more instead, going up was the only option, especially as going down was nigh on impossible for the time being. No, going up had worked out quite well. Each structure was in reality another pair of fields, stacked one on top of another. There were walkways and opening on the top level, which was several feet thick, to give Ronnel's next contribution to improving the city room to grow. The layer below that - which was spaced approximately thirty feet below the layer above, to give this level adequate lighting - had less opening in the ground, but more walkways. The two levels were accessible by an exterior staircase, also grown from the Earth Wall technique, and by the end of all of the shaping, the poor woman was just about collapsing. Of course the other contractor's hadn't slacked off.

While Ronnel and the former kunoichi went around actually making the earth that they would be basing their work in, the men and women of the contracting company went along behind them, placing decorative tiles in the areas that would become the actual walkways for visitors, as well as placing glass panes down in the openings a foot in, to provide a level of security. Then they put in railings, hastily assembled, along the walkways. A seven foot high wooden fence was constructed along the outer rim of each of the levels, though the actual outer rim was far enough away from the publicly accessible walkways that getting to them shouldn't happen unless someone was doing something they shouldn't.

The final touch from the contracting company was the help of another former ninja, this time a water element using shinobi. The man drew water up through specially placed columns that supported the structures, which just so happened to be hollow for just this purpose. The water then flowed out into the fields, through the glass-bottomed channels, giving an interesting effect on those looking up; as well as hydrating the earth, which was something that was necessary for this to truly become what Ronnel intended.

(((Woooo first time I'm having to do this.... crappity crap. Lessee.... According to his moon cycle chart he is currently in the... middle of his waxing cycle! 4-6, he was in new, 7-9 waxing, 10-12 full, 13-15 waning, 16-18 new, 19-21 is waxing! AW YEAH)))

Now, now it was time for the crowning piece to Ronnel's work, what would make this a place where the villagers could come to relax and unwind, and cheer up. While he didn't doubt that there would be those who would appreciate the artful structures these two places already were, he was by no means done. The swirls in the openings had served to hydrate the fields well enough by now for what he wanted to do, and it was time to get to business, and show why he had stuck around and not just left this to someone else to do. The contracting company could have done this all on their own if not for his own unique contribution!

Ronnel hand enough chakra right now to pull this off, if only just barely, and he had made sure to tell the contractors that he would probably pass out for a bit when he had finished. It would be worth it though, oh yes, to pull this off and make it somewhere his new home could be proud to have in it. And wasn't that a weird thought to him.

He slowly climbed up to the top of the first structure, the northern one, and sat down at the end of the field. He had made sure that no part of the fields were cut off in his design, which was crucial for what he was doing. He took a deep breath and planted his hands on the ground, closing his eyes. From where his hands were touching down, flowers of various shapes and sizes - orchids, roses, lillies, tulips, every flower imaginable began sprouting, spiraling outwards from where he was sitting until the entire area was covered in flowers that had a reasonable amount of growth to them, though none were overly large. To any onlookers, or anyone who looked at this particular level of the hanging gardens that he had designed, it had gone from multiple shades of brown from the earth work, to a kaleidoscope of colors. Unmistakable too was the relaxing, enticing scent that all of the flowers put off, a slight variation on what a normal flower of their kind would smell like, not enough that untrained civilians would ever be able to notice it, and any ninja who came here and wasn't expecting something unnatural would have a hard time of placing what was off either. But it was more than enough to have a calming effect.

Three more times Ronnel repeated this action, and by the end of it he was looking washed out, though he wasn't passing out like he had thought he would. When all was said and done, the moon-eyed medic was pleased with his efforts. Each area of the hanging gardens had a different color scheme, changing what flowers grew there. Additionally each had a slightly different pheromone added to the scent of the flowers.

The northern structure's upper tier was dark reds and blues, with a few whites thrown in; the pheromone here calmed the body, reducing physical tension of anyone who breathed in. The area below it had brighter reds and blues, with more white flowers thrown in; its aroma had the benefit of being relaxing to the mind more than the upper level, easing the worries of the mind, reducing outside influences and pressures.

The southern structure's upper tier was different in color wildly. Here orange, green, and yellow flowers could be found in abundance; the pheromone that Ronnel had added to this area sparked vitality and vigor... and unintentionally, had a bit of an arousing affect, though he didn't notice as the flower's aroma power was his own. The tier below that though, was vastly different from any of the other areas. Here, the flowers were unusual ones, flowers that normally couldn't be found in this area. Flowering cacti made a debut here in one particularly dry area of the floor, while in another creeping ivy grew up specially planted wooden trellises, along with jasmine. The area's pheromone was actually a sedating one, people who spent too long in this area without being on guard would easily find themselves lulled to sleep.

Sadly for ROnnel though, for him, each area was only artwork and beauty. As the pheromones released by the flowers were his work, created by his jutsu, he was unaffected by any of them, no matter how much he might try to make use of the sedating affect of the southern lower level. Instead he would just bask in the flower's natural aroma, and let himself be calmed that way.

At a later point that is. For now, he was done, and he groaned as he stood up and stretched out his sore back. Creating all of the flowers - especially the unique plants for the southern lower area, had taken time and concentration, and now he was aching from it. An idea came to him, but he would have to wait until another time to enact it, for now his inner reserves were just too low to be able to pull it off. He made his way down back to the actual ground floor, and looked at the contractors, who had been waiting for his OK to approach the areas. He chuckled weakly.

"All done. Though we may want to connect the structures at some point, if nothing more than a simply arched walkway between the north and south on each floor. Having to come back down here to go over to the other side could rapidly get to be annoying." The head contractor nodded in agreement to this observation, and looked at the earth shaper, who nodded in agreement that it could be done. "Maybe put glass archways over the each of the sky paths, I can make some jasmine or another creeping flower grow along them to give added ambiance."

Word was put to action, and now Ronnel really was on the point of passing out. Even keeping the techniques low and taking a break, he had exhausted all of his usable chakra. He was only able to keep on his feet due to the Wangetsu chakra, which still flowed strong, as his clan techniques couldn't tap into it. But it was done, the Hanging Gardens were complete.

Magnus levitated over towards Ronnel speaking to him through his mind. "Congratulations, but you look exhausted. Shall we be taking that mission against the bandits tomorrow then?" He linked as he landed next to him giving him a look over. "Can you walk, friend? I wouldn't mind assisting you if you need a shoulder to lean on. Come on, we shall depart from this garden...or we can stay. I don't see a better place to rest up." He linked as he walked over to a tree and took a slightly crouched stance in front of it. "Yeah that's it, what do you think? We stay and allow you to rest up, meanwhile, I will stand here like this and train my taijutsu." He linked as he focused chakra from around his body and into his right arm. He did this in one fluid motion by inhaling deeply and exhaling into the focused arm. He continued this motion by inhaling once more and exhaling moving the chakra from his arm to his fist. He took aim at the tree and extended his fist outwards punching the tree while releasing his chakra making a small crater in the bark of the tree.

He went back to his initial stance as he inhaled while focusing a portion of his chakra through his body preparing it to be moved to a focal point of Magnus' choosing. He exhaled as the chakra moved from his body and into his right arm and inhaled and exhaled again moving the chakra from his arm into his right fist and thrust forth with a jab punching another small crater into the bark of the tree. It was from here, Magnus stood up and relaxed shaking his body into a relaxed state before turning to the right and taking the Six Harmonies stance once more. He inhaled and exhaled moving his chakra through his body into into his arms and legs and back. His goal of his training was to get use to the fluid motion of focusing chakra in a instant as if he was just breathing making each move or technique no matter what he was preforming just that much more deadlier. He focused a portion of his chakra through his body, out to his arms and into his fist in a fluid inhale/exhale motion as if he was breathing naturally. He extended his index finger of his right fist outwards in a swift fluid jab motion before returning it to its initial resting position and repeating with the other side. He relaxed and loosened his muscles by shaking his arms and jumping lightly.

He turned back to the tree stepping closer to it and shifting into a Wing Chun stance. He pushed out with swift jabs towards the center-line of the tree pushing out from his elbow instead of using his full arm like he was doing just a minute ago with Six Harmonies. These two styles had some similarities, but were on two different broads of combat. Six Harmonies was offensive, while Wing Chun was defensive countering. Magnus trained in the city for more than just beating up thugs dumb enough to attack him. But, because many of his practices required an opponent to help learn them. Who better to help you train than someone who doesn't know your training? And who better than thugs with no combat training in the military. Even then, should things get out of hand, Magnus still had his back-ups. Currently, he was preforming back to back snap punches of which were quick standard jabs originating from the elbow instead of the shoulder allowing for more control in a fight. As he was practicing his snap punch, he pivoted his body to the right while delivering the back of his elbow into the tree. He repeated this three times in succession before going back into his jab practice, stopping every once and awhile to preform a reverse elbow technique.

Ronnel's eyes popped open a few minutes after Magnus arrived - he had fallen asleep where he had been sitting down at the end of finishing the Gardens, and hadn't noticed the other shinobi's arrival, nor heard his words in his mind. He stood up slowly and popped his back, wincing as he realized that falling asleep sitting up was NOT in his body's best interests, and looked around. He saw Magnus nearby training, punching through the air rapidly, and raised an eyebrow. Then he shrugged it off, recognizing that the other teen was practicing a taijutsu style.

"Sorry about that Magnus, finishing this took more out of me than I thought it would." Ronnel took a moment to brush himself off before continuing on. "In any case, there was a mission available that I thought it might be best to wait for you before undertaking - and maybe we'll look to recruit someone else as well. That is, if you're interested?"

OOC: Uh, heh, there aren't any trees here. Ron's clan techniques can only make flowers and things that are close to it, like the small cacti. Trees are outside of his range for now.

"Ah, so your awake?" He linked as Ronnel watched him train trying to figure out what he was doing and answered him. "No problem, I was just practicing my Six Harmonies and Wing Chun fighting styles." He linked as he continued his training for a little bit longer until Ronnel mentioned a mission of which stopped his training. He relaxed his body and turn to Ronnel. "A mission that could use my skills and yours? Sounds interesting. Did you have anyone in mind for a third candidate?" He was in and pulled forth a trench knife. "That means, I would need to train in Six Valleys soon and maybe a little Devil's suicide. They're Bukijutsu..." He added at the end not to further lead Ronnel into confusion.

"Unfortunately, no. I only know those we met on that street, and of those, I doubt any would be I could work with on this. Piko, perhaps, but he seems to reticent to actually consider taking lives. I don't trust that Zokuji fellow, and as for the girl, I never even got her name." Ronnel shrugged, and raised an eyebrow as Magnus talked about styles of bukijutsu. He smiled slightly.

"I've got some handiness with Ninjutsu and medical techniques, as well as my clan and bloodline techniques. Just between the two of us we're already pretty versatile. Though, your ability to manipulate the mind, does it extend to genjutsu-like effects as well?" Despite knowing that the Kage was a Mayu, Ronnel didn't know much about the abilities, then again, that might be the point.

Magnus thought on it for a minute. "I'm not as good as Saiyuri or anything, but I am decent as would anyone in my bloodline. I have a resilience for genijutsu, but it is not by much. It is mostly because I can sense the user's mind and because of that it doesn't affect me mentally as much, though I would still be able to see it happening visually. So basicly, my mental anchor to the world would be greater than anyone else because of the telepathy." He noted more for himself than Ronnel. "I believe we can accomplish a hell of a lot of things with just use two. I haven't trained a lot with ninjutsu or my clan techniques or Bukijutsu yet for that matter. I have been focusing on my body first as most of my fighting will start here at the core first. Maybe I need to expand outwards in training before I can be ready for a serious fight with another shinobi."

Ronnel nodded slightly. It wasn't quite what he had meant by the question, but even so it answered what he had asked - Magnus hadn't mentioned anything about knowing any genjutsu, just being more resistant to the techniques. He rolled his shoulders and grinned.

"Well. The mission I mentioned earlier is this. Some of the supplies from Sora's armory have gone missing, and only some kind of horned symbol is left as evidence of who took it. Apparently that's the symbol for a gang that makes its lair not far from here, and I'm guessing that they took advantage of the chaos of our city crashing down to pilfer some goods. It's B-rank though, which is why I said we might want a third. What do you think?"

Magnus thought for a moment. They probably could handle themselves, but that could be problematic in the long run. "We could try, but if you don't see anyone you think would add to the team chemistry instead of against it....then we could try just the two of us."

Ronnel chuckled softly before shrugging.

"Well, I don't think that's much of a problem, as of yet our team dynamic if pretty raw, it would be easy to add a new element into the mix without overly offsetting it. Unless of course, one of us can't work with said new element." He grinned at Magnus. "And since I'm a pretty easy going guy, incident with Zokuji not withstanding...." His anger with Zokuji was irritating to him - he hadn't expected to flare up right then. But the callous disregard the boy had had was just too much for him to bear calmly. However, his mind had wandered.

"RIght, well. If you want we can hold off on that, try to take on something lower first, maybe a C-rank or a few D-ranks, to get used to working with each other."

"A C-rank sounds just about right. Don't want to start off with anything too mundane. Well, I guess we shall head back to Saiyuri's office then?" He linked as he looked back into the village. He really did need to continue his training and further himself some more. Had he done this before, they could have left together and did this mission without a moment's slip up. But, enough about his shortcomings, soon he was going to rectify that minor problication.

Ronnel grinned and clapped his hand, his eyes nearly twinkling.
"Right then, let's be off shall we? We won't head to the Kage's office itself, as the last time I was there I had the fortune to meet a lovely young lady who works in the mission department. Hopefully she'll have something more up our alley than that B-rank at the moment? Though perhaps putting that off too long is unwise, not more than a few days at least." This last was said under Ronnel's breath as he started walking down through the garden path. He wondered why a simple bandit hunt was a B-rank, but that might be because of any of the items that they might be using from the armory that they had stolen. No matter, he and Magnus would be enough to handle a rowdy bunch of bandits when the time came.
