Arezo hoped this particular area of the pride was free from the others. A glare was held on the icy blue eyes as she stepped carefully through the desert land, spotting the oasis that would serve a good spot for a drink. She was not ready to be in a fight today, but she would certainly make herself so, if a Qyrhyeshti happened to appear, the light tanned female would battle.

The lightly scarred lioness roamed over to the small water hole, feeling the sun already beating down on her back. The summers were becoming quite unbearing, so finding a quiet place to cool down was much needed.

Craning her neck, the lioness began to lap the precious liquid, forgetting for just a moment the dangers that may lurk.

Gaspard had the same hopes as the lioness. The lion had been training with some younger members of the pride nearby and, after the sun had risen high enough to make the heat formidable, the Muharip retired himself to the nearby oasis. Gaspard moved stiffly through the sands as it broke into sparse greenery, narrowed olive eyes scanning the lands.

The lion did not seemed amused, though this was hardly expected of him. War was serious business.

The form of the lioness gave Gaspard momentary pause. Damn. He hadn't expected anyone out here, and the next watering hole was far enough to be an inconvenience. Company, then.

Whatever.

The lion moved towards the waters, a comfortable distance away from the lioness. He recognized her; the pride was small enough to where it wasn't too difficult to keep faces matched to names. He didn't say anything, though. He barely even looked over before glancing down as he leaned to drink from the water hole.

The sounds of approaching paw steps caught Are’s attention. She stopped mid drink, a low grumble coming from her throat. It was a warning sound for the oncoming.

She noted the sound of the other’s movement. More stiff, and not as amble as others would be. She could feel the same way after the big skirmish between the two groups. She shook her head, ears alert for any other lions nearby. Not hearing any, she took one last sip, attention focusing on the ‘intruder’.

Her blue eyes shifted to the left, where Gaspard was drinking. At least it wasn’t one of them. “Gaspard.” The lioness spoke, her voice huffed slightly. “Didn’t expect anyone to come here around this time.”

"Neither did I," Gaspard responded, his cold voice a sharp contrast from the heat of the day. He muttered low, not initially raising his head to speak. After a few moments, after the water had cooled him considerably, the lion raised his head and gave the lioness his attention.

"Arezo bint Sareh," the lion murmured in greeting. If he came off as brash, then he certainly didn't seem to make any motions to do any differently. The aloof lion gave a flick of his tail, glancing out over the dunes for a moment. Scanning the horizon was a constant habit, around these parts. The pride had been peaceful for an uncomfortable amount of time. "I was simply seeking temporary refuge from the sands. I would not have come here if I knew I would be... intruding." In terms of an apology, it was a poor one. But apologizing didn't seem to be the lion's intent.

A normal lion would probably react to the gruffness of Gaspard’s voice, but Arezo didn’t. Probably all of the Burkuteshti wouldn’t react to the tone. After the trials and tribulations the pride had gone through, everyone had some sort of bitterness to them. Everyone had lost a family member in the battle. Everyone harbored a terrible memory.

“You are only intruding if you are a Qyrhyeshti.” A slight smirk held on her maw. “And I’d rather your company then one of them on any day.” They all were warriors, but she’d certainly seen enough bloodshed to last her a lifetime.

“Have you seen any lately?” She said, referring to their enemies. “It’s been quiet around the west.” While they shared the guarding positions, Arezo spent most of her time on the west side.
