Lance's leg twitched. He was currently sinking into one of the chairs set about the hospital room he was in. After the ordeal, he had brought Ali home and promptly squirreled the two of them in Ava's car and drive to the hospital. The blonde had come up with some fabricated lie about how the two had been out on what they called a 'Best Friend's Day on the town' and they were on their way home when they had been jumped by some ruddy gang and mugged. Both had obviously tried to put up a fight and Alistair got the worst of it.
Both Avacyn and Alistair were ushered off quickly to get the needed x-rays and casting done to set the bones that were broken. Ava had been done for pretty close to an hour now. She sported a cast both on her leg and the better part of her lower and upper arm. In all honesty, the cast almost looked like it was eating her arm instead of protecting it. Now they were just waiting on Alistair.
Lance had sworn six ways from Sunday that he wouldn't leave until they heard anything and even then he wouldn't leave until she said it was okay. Damn leg jittering. He had to stop. Avacyn was currently looking at him funny for it. "Sorry." Lance muttered as he sat up and leaned on his legs in a desperate attempt to make it stop. "Did you, uhm, want me to call anyone? Do you need anything? From home?"

Ava eyed her cast-up arm and leg, swallowing nervously. She glanced over at Lance, eyes wide. "I, uhm, I might call someone...later...and my parents, but I want to do it myself." She'd pick up the phone and sob to Arilee herself because letting someone else do it - no, no, she couldn't. She would definitely have to ask the other girl to come be here with her, though - having Arilee, Chariklo, around would make her feel safer than just having Lance. Chari had trained her how to fight and between them, surely Lance and Arilee would be able to ensure that psycho ginger b***h never touched another Dark Mirror because they were the strongest people she'd ever had the chance to see fight.
She tapped the fingers of her uncasted hand nervously against her thigh. "Ali's going to be okay, right?" She asked, her voice soft. "I mean, she didn't...she didn't hurt him too badly, he'll recover?" Her fingers fisted in the blankets of her hospital bed, and she sobbed softly, desperately.

"You know you're welcome any time Ava... You can stay with us until..." He shrugged a shoulder. "You know..." Ali would most likely be crashing in his room for the next few weeks. Ava could have the spare if she wanted. He leaned over and gently took her good hand, giving it a small squeeze. "He'll be fine.." The blonde said as he offered her a smile. "Alistair might be a skinny thing, but he's no push over. You're both gonna be okay."

"I'd, uh, like that," Ava said softly, "a lot. I'd feel a lot safer." The more people aorund, the less likely someone or something could get her, right? "Do you...mind if I ask someone else to stay, too? She's a member of the Court!" She said quickly, as if to stave off objections with that piece of information.
"I, uhm, understand if the answer is no, if you'd rather not have someone else in the apartment." It was hard to explain why she wanted it so much, but she did. Avacyn was very much a people person, thoroughly clingy to the ones she cared about, and especially so when she was scared out of her mind. God, she didn't even want to think about taking walks after dark now, never mind powering up.
"Do you think Leto and Remarque will be mad if...if I don't want to be Amytis for a little while after I heal?" Her voice dropped to barely a whisper, in case someone was somehow listening in. "Because...I don't think I'm going to want to."

He blinked in surprise. "Uhm.. I don't have any problem with it, and Alistair probably won't either... Maybe just run it by Aaron so he knows? But since you live down the hall from us I don't think he'd have a problem." He shrugged off handily. Lance shook his head, giving her hand another small squeeze. "I don't think they'd mind too much. Besides, I think you're kind of guaranteed the time off." The blonde said as he gestured towards her casted leg.
"It's alright you know... He get's the same way. Do you remember the thing at the park that we did when we met?" The teen asked softly. "He got attacked by one of those things and so he doesn't like going out alone anymore. But it will be alright Ava. We're all looking out for each other."

"It'll just be for a little while, and then I'll go back to my place," and maybe Arilee would stay and keep on keeping her safe. Her fingers twisted in with Lance's and she swallowed. "J-just I don't want anyone angry with me if I can help it but I can't...be out and fighting when I'm looking over my shoulder constantly for...for her."
She made a soft whimpering noise, and leaned back. "God, and he finally does go it alone and look what happens...alone is the worst thing to be in this war, I think." Ava's voice dropped to almost nothing. "I never want to be alone again."

"It'll be okay Ava. We'll tell them both, and we'll see about sending people off in teams of two if we have too." Hell, maybe Leto and Remarque would go off in search of this senshi themselves and resolve the issue. Standing, Lance moved to sit on the bed before hugging the girl. "You're not alone Ava. You've got Alistair and I, and the rest are all here for you too. You can call any of us if you feel the need too. Don't cry.. It's okay."

"I-I, uhm, okay," Ava said softly. Oh god, telling Leto and Remarque about what happened - her heart clenched up in terror. How would she tell another person about her cowardice? Would they look down on her for breaking and telling Penthesilea what she wanted to know?
She almost didn't want to find out - but at the same time, they did deserve to know.
There was a knock on the door, and a doctor stepped in, distracting Ava from her thoughts.
"Mr. Greyson?" he asked. "Mr. Holmes is free to have visitors, and he asked for you."
Ava flashed Lance a smile and squeezed his hand. "Go on, go to him, I know you want to. I - I'll be alright for a little while." This was a hospital. It was safe. She was safe.

"I'll go with you if you want." He offered, as if picking up on the girls fear. Lance blinked almost stupidly between the two of them before hugging her one last time. "I'm just down the hall." The blonde reminded her before slipping from the room with a wave.
In all honesty, Lance all but walked down the hall and into Alistair's room. He sighed once inside, leaning against the door for a moment before dragging himself over to the bed. Not bothering with the chair that sat beside the bed, Lance just sat on the edge of the bed before reaching over and brushing his boyfriends bangs out of his eyes. "Alistair..."

Both of Alistair's arms were wrapped in casts, keeping them in place, so as much as he wanted to reach out and touch Lance, he couldn't. Still, he did smile, turning his head to lean into his boyfriend's gentle touch. "Hey, Lance," he said quietly. "Doctors say it's a good thing we got here when we did, she did a number on me and it...could've been really bad."

Leaning over, Lance kissed Alistair's forehead while his hand moved to rest on the boy's cheek. It already was bad. Both arms in casts and the gods only knew what else. "How are you feeling? Drugged to the high heavens?"

"Well, nothing hurts, so I'm assuming I have to be. I wonder if I get a button to dose myself with painkillers...I hope not." Alistair was doing his best to stay light about the whole thing, to be a contrast to how upset Lance was. "I'm alive, and I'll recover, it just might be a while. Tell me you at least smacked her around some."

"The fact you even have to ask that is insulting." Lance snorted. The blonde looked his boyfriend over for a minute, thinking quietly to himself. Sleeping would be difficult. But doable.. Perhaps they'd camp out on the couch bed for a while.. "Ava's going to be staying with us for a bit. She asked if it was okay to have a friend over and I told her I had no problem with it if Aaron gave the okay."

Alistair shrugged. "I was sort of unconscious - for all I knew she left and left me for you to find." He pointed out, and then he sighed. "The apartment's going to be crowded - but it will be nice to have a lot of people there. I would rather have more than less."

"She left your scarf and a note tied to a tree. It seems kind of redundant to do that only to leave you there." Lance shrugged dismissively. It seemed like every time they got out of a crowded place, fate had a way of shoving them back into one. "You'll be here for a few days you know.. What do you want me to tell your parents? Do you even want them knowing??" Mr Holmes, Alistair's father, had a particular knack for showing up unannounced, and uninvited just to make sure they were behaving. He still didn't exactly trust Lance, never mind that he and Alistair had been dating for a year and a half already.
