"Oh, Jerry!" Sasha waved at him, "I've been feeling much better," she continued breathlessly. "I thought it would be wise to get out and try to strengthen my bond with Nona, you know? No sense in crying over the hand I've been dealt." She shrugged. "I hope I didn't interrupt anything you were doing?"

"Ahahaha..." He laughed nervously. Hand they were dealt. Hah. "Yeah, I've er... been training. Lifting weights and exercising and stuff, I think I told you- I was just having some down time, actually..." He smiled, rearranging his coat and tucked his hair behind his ears. "Working on um. Some things."

She giggled, the sound soft and musical.

"Gosh, it's odd to hear you laugh again," He blushed, but returned her smile as he pushed his glasses up his nose and cleared his throat, "You'll laugh again if I tell you."

She'd forgotten how absolutely frustrating the man could be to talk to.

Of course he'd been writing a musical. Sasha took a deep breath, and the facade nearly slipped. A spark of ice-fire in her eyes, a tightening of her mouth, the slightest tensing of her shoulders. There and gone, replaced by a bright tinkle of a laugh and an appreciative nod.
"Oh, won't that be fantastic? Will you have any need for a flautist? I've been playing again. I could sing, too, if you needed."
A way to push herself to her limits. A way to assure herself that she could perform in any given situation presented to her.
"We can talk more over a meal, once we've finished our spar?"

The momentary slip was lost on the mess of a man, who merely brightened further at her offer, "You'd... really?? Really?? Y-yeah! Yeah, that'd be great!" He practically bounced as he stepped back a bit, Roar materializing on his shoulder in a burst of green light. "Solia's volunteered to make the costumes! I just er... have to finish the thing!"
He marveled, his expression turning softer, thankful. It was as though a glimmer of his old friend had returned- even if he had no idea it was part of the game. "It's... it's really good to hear you're playing again. You.. you really have an amazing talent. Something not many people can do."

Sasha feinted forward with Nona's sharp hooks, but missed. Her eyes tensed and narrowed, but the smile remained on her lips.

He dodged back, glasses slipping down his nose as Nona slashed by- narrowly missing. A hop and a skip backward and he had enough distance between them to take aim, light gathering in Roar's eyes and mouth before the sound attack barked forth. Once his ears cleared he called back, "I like to think they can hear it! I bring my guitar on Pod Duty a lot- especially if someone DOES wake up, I'm at the ready with the welcoming song!"

Sasha grinned as Jerry spoke, the smile causing her eyes to light up.
"I think so, too! It's why I've started doing it. Plus it's really very good practice. I hadn't played in so long, I was almost afraid I'd forgotten how!"
Talk, talk, talk. Nona seemed to urge Sasha into action, and so Sasha moved forward with precision, hacking and slashing at all of the parts of Jerry that dared come close enough.

Whatever Jerry had to say next turned into a yelp as the claws cut in. As many pushups and jumping jacks as he had done, he still was not at his best when it came to spars. Let alone if he saw battle again any time soon. He tumbled, happy for fear shields as he tried to put distance between them again, this time propping himself up on one knee to fire. Concentrate on the battle, or he could end up with a real bad haircut.

Sasha was absolutely certain that Roar was the worst weapon she'd ever sparred against. Unable to dodge the attack aimed at her, Sasha waited until the blast was over before daring to dart in again, Nona's claws out for blood.
