It hadn't been very long since he'd been brought into the world, oh no he was still a baby and he knew that. But it didn't stop him from knowing that he wanted to explore everything and know where everything came from. He would jump from place to place, hooves touching lightly on the ground before he was bounding off again. He smiled to himself, grinning as he looked around at the ponies around him. The families were obvious, they gave off this glow of happiness and love that caused a happy thrumming to run through him.
The young colt paused at a stream, short tail swishing slightly like a dog's would as he dropped his head to sip at the refreshing liquid. He lifted his head once he was done, spinning lightly on his back hooves to look around him again at the grass and the ponies. Perhaps he could find someone to make friends with, that would be nice. Being lonely wasn't good, it wasn't a fun time, but friends made everything better. He figured that out from watching the other ponies. So yes, a friend he would seek.

Alan took aim from his lofty perch. One... two... THREE. Alan left the treebranch with a great jump and landed in the stream, water cascading everywhere. He giggled gleefully and splashed some more, but nothing he could do would mirror the effects of his great jump. He turned to the bank. "Hello, newness."

Cupid squeaked slightly, backing off from the edge as the shadow passed over head and then the water was suddenly cascading over top of him. He stood on the bank, eyes wide as he watched the pony splashing around. Then suddenly he was talking to him and he blinked slowly. "Hello... I'm Cupid's Bow! You can call me Cupid! What's your name?" he asked, cocking his head to the side as his ears tipped towards the pony slightly.

"Hello Cupid," chorused Alan as though he were in a classroom. "My name is Alan."
He stepped out of the stream and tried to shake the water off him like a dog would.

He grinned at him, stepping out of the spray of the water droplets easily before shaking himself of the excess water from the original splash. "It's nice to meet you Alan. How did you get so high up?" he questioned, lifting his head to view the branch, narrowing his eyes as his ears laid back slightly. It was really very high, strange how he could get up there. Must have climbed, yes? That's how ponies got to tall places wasn't it?

"High?" asked Alan. "That's not high. I live in a mountain; a tree is not high." He flipped his het blonde hair from his eyes. "I climbed a tree. Not that tree," he said. "Another tree and then I branchwalked."

"Wow, a mountain? So... trees aren't that high... I suppose they aren't when you compare them to a mountain. You must really like heights then," he said said, looking back over at the colt. "Branch walking is when you walk across the branches from one tree to another then?" he questioned, tipping his head.

"There's mountains all around," said Alan. "Sometimes I walk from the mountain to the sea, all in the trees, branch to branch. My sister can fly all the way, like my mum and dad."
Alan carelessly itched his face and left dirt there. "They have wings, though. It would be strange to be able to fly with no wings." He suddenly leaned forward, his eyes wide. "Can you fly?" he asked in horrified curiosity.

"Wow... that's cool! I would think some ponies would fall and hurt themselves though..." he said, laying his ears back as he contemplated it for a moment. He shrugged it off with a flick of his tail and looked back at Alan, ears perking once more. "Fly? Me? Oh no, I can't fly. I don't have any wings, and you're right, it would be weird to fly without wings. It would be awesome though to be able to soar around in the sky," he said with a bright smile.

Alan nodded sharply, as though he was an interviewer believing the truth of an alibi.
"I think the rest of you would get lazy after a while," he said, "if you flew everywhere. Not if you were a dragon, though. I never saw a fat dragon. Have you?" he asked, but with much less suspicion.

"Hmm you could be right. It wouldn't be good to be lazy," he said, contemplating it with everything he had. The very look of concentration on his face was enough to laugh at. He perked up though as Alan mentioned dragons before he frowned again. "I don't think I've ever seen a dragon so I wouldn't known if I've seen a fat one," he said calmly.

"Dragons are..." began Alan slowly. "Dragons are big. And they're shiny. A little scary. I never saw a fat one."
Alan was finally drying off. "Did you want to see a dragon?" he asked.

His eyes continued to widen as Alan told about the dragons, curiosity sending quivers through out his small form. "I would love to see a dragon!" he chirped. "It sounds dangerous, and fun," he said, practically prancing where he stood.

"Then lets go see a dragon," Alan said. He went at a brisk trot up the train path. The ground sloped upward at a gentle pace before becoming steeper and steeper until Alan, fit as he was, was gasping with exertion. "This... trip... is much easier... in trees," he advised Cupid. They were headed up a large mountain, but luckily for them, they were not going to the crest of it. It was geting colder as they traversed the mountain. They arrived around to where the mountains met the sea and the Ice Palace looked over the cove. It was grown out of the mountain through magic and good craftsmanship. Though Zared, the ice kirin, was loath to admit when it was finished, so he never said it was. "Come in here," panted Alan. He walked through the ornate doors and called, "Uncle Zared? Aunty Eerinna?" There was a terrible BANG SMASH from the rooms behind them and a lovely pony swished out. "Alan!" she cried with delight. "How nice to see you, please come in with your friend." A little green seryph staggered out, black smoke marring his green. "Good one," he snapped angrily. "This spell is hard enough to do in silence and you made me wreck the wall!" Eerinna pushed Caster back into the room. "Zared will fix it later." Slow on the uptake, Haradrin wandered out of the room. He was also soot-blackened, but unphased. He ambled over to Alan and smiled in simple cheerfulness.. "This is Haradrin," said Alan. "He's a dragon. Haradrin, this is Cupid's Bow." Haradrin stared at Cupid in that same cheerfulness. He definitely wasn't the kind of person you would think a dragon to be. ((I have to go to work, but I will edit in pictures of the new introductees))

The journey seemed long and arduous to the young colt, panting himself by the time they crested. But it was exciting - though he couldn't imagine going through the trees yet, that would have been scary. Then again, he wasn't terribly fond of heights - though he wished to fly, what a silly pony - and so likely would have harmed himself in the trees. But still, the walk up the mountain was difficult. Though because Alan was there he was fine enough with enduring it. It was fun to have somepony to talk to after all.
He looked up at the ice palace as they approached, his eyes growing wide as he took it all in. It was magnificent! He glanced over at Alan, chirping out a quick "okay!" as he was told to come in. So he followed closely behind Alan's hooves, ears pricked to pick up every little sound.
The crash startled him, causing his ears to lay back flat and he jerked slightly. But the pony that followed was nice enough, though he stayed silent for the time people. There was another pony and he was snapping at Alan, but the nice pony made him go away. So that was good, the snapping pony was mean and being mean wasn't good at all.
Then lo and behold, out of the room walked a dragon. He wasn't a very big dragon - Cupid reckoned he wasn't much older than a colt himself - but he was still a dragon and it was so cool, He stared at him for a moment before he grinned, eyes brightening with glee. "Hi Haradrin! It's nice to meet you! You can call me Cupid," he said, shifting on his hooves to stop himself from bouncing in excitement. Dragons looked so awesome!
