*Why'd you join the Scouting Legion: To honour the memory of his adoptive father and to see outside the walls
*Personality: Saito can be apathetic and thoughtless, and often doesn't consider the feelings of those around him. He's shrewd, sarcastic and it takes a lot to motivate him. This shouldn't be mistaken for idiocy, however. Saito is keen, manipulative, and possesses a high level of intellect, he has also proven himself resourceful on more than one occasion.
While he's definitely less than suitable for role-model material, his negative qualities still come with positive ones, as well. He rarely shows signs of stress in pressing situations, and is a capable leader if the situation calls for it.
Though it may not be obvious and he'll never admit it openly, Saito cares deeply for his comrades. Even though his actions can seem self-centered, he rarely means to truly harm others.
Needless to say, Saito has a personality which makes him popular with some people, but not with others.

*Bio:
Abandoned in the near Wall Maria when he was just a baby, Saito was adopted by a member of the scouting legion, receiving his name. Being raised in a military environment, Saito learnt about the workings of the military at a young age.Many people commented on how smart the young boy was, with adults having full conversations with him.
A few years later, Saito's adopted father left on a mission, he did not return. Shortly afterwards the titans broke through the wall, wreaking chaos on the city. Saito chose on that day to train so that he could become a member of the Scouting Legion, like his adoptive father.
During training, due to a faulty piece of Maneuver Gear used by another trainee, Saito ended up having several tendons in his right let torn. Normally this would have limited his chances of getting into the scouting legion, however he proved himself to still be of benefit thanks to his cunning mind, placing highly at the end of training.
At this point Saito has been a part of the scouting legion for just over 2 years

1. Due to an accident that occurred during training which badly damaged the tendons of Saito's right leg, Saito wears a metal leg brace in order to allow him to move it. While he can still bend and flex his leg while wearing this brace, due to the weight of the brace, Saito's mobility and agility suffers greatly.
2. Saito has a photographic memory and is not above blackmailing others to get his way. Be careful what you say or do around him!
