True to her word, a rough hour later Solia was back at Sasha's room, the golem of one Israfel behind her, wings shuffling and face holding a soft smile as his hunter knocked on the door. It had been a while since he'd been out as a golem, and had insisted that he'd be given at least a few minutes to practice his vocals.

A few minutes had run into a little over ten and So Solia had sent her new found relative a few text to assure her, yes, she was coming Israfel was just being a bit stubborn.

But now the bird braid was content with how his voice sounded, and wanted to sing as per usual. For Solia and her new family? Of course. As if he could ever be doubted. He'd also insisted that Solia bring a few of her stashed candies, (mostly fruit drops), to share while they listened. The trainee was just as excited as her weapon. Knocking a second time with much greater enthusiasm.
"Sasha! Je suis de retour avec Israfel!"

The curtains of Sasha's room had been drawn open, the clothes picked up from the floor. The bed had been made, and Sasha had taken a moment to freshen up herself, as well. Her hair laid in a soft plait over her shoulder, and a smile was on her face as she opened the door. There was a warmth in her eyes, and Sasha eagerly gestured them into her room.

"Israfel! Un tel plaisir de vous rencontrer. Je suis Sasha, mais vous le savez déjà!"

She was pleased by his plumage, her smile growing broader.

"My Nona is feathered, as well!"

There was a slight break, a crack in her voice - but it was briskly pieced back together, covered by a smile that seemed a little too bright and friendly.

Israfel grinned, pushing past Solia to give Sasha a warm fethered hug follow by rubbing his cheek to her's.
"I have no idea what you said but hello I am happy to speak with you!"

Solia giggled from behind them as the siren practically hopped his way into the room, feathers puffing out as he began to look at things with intense interest. Mostly, on anything small and reflective.

"Nona has feathers too? I should trade a few with her then! Solia says that if I collect enough that oneday she'll late me make a nest! Won't you Solia?" She hid a laugh behind her hand, tugging on Israfel's hand to try and calm him down. "Yes, but not for a long time. That is if you behave and I have the space for it once I am a hunter." Israfel just chirped.

The siren kept looking all around him as Solia smiled towards her new found family. "He's much like a bird, has to investigate his surroundings. Harmless but-"
"Sasha! You have nice hair! Do you have any ribbons? Hair ribbons are nice, I will have Solia get you some as well as roses! Roses are always nice!" His earwings fluttered, the blue roses in his hair glowing just faintly.

"...He's a bit more excitable than me. Where shall we sit? Once we're situated, he'll calm quickly enough."

"Yes, she is an Alkonost. A siren of sorts, but she told me once her natural form was that of a bird with the head of a beautiful woman." She looked bemused for a moment before continuing, "She has never wanted to build a nest, though, so I'm not sure if that is something she does."

Sasha smiled and gestured towards the pair of chairs that sat near the desk. The room was small but cleaning it had gone far in making it appear even the slightest bit larger.

"Thank you, Israfel. It takes a lot of effort to keep it so nice, and sometimes it can be more trouble than it is worth, but," she shrugged and offered a warm smile, "I am a little vain, I suppose."

Solia paused, blinked, brought out her phone and made note to research that later. "Israfel is like... well this is pretty much his natural form." The siren's head snapped over, blue hair shimmering a faint purple. "No, my wings are larger and I have bird feetsies! But human feet are much nicer on carpets. And I can wear cute shoes! The hunters who run the golems have good taste." The siren hadn't any idea that it was Solia who paid for the tiny wardrobe update for her weapon.

"Your Nona should build a nest though. They are very comforting."

Solia just shook her head, Israfel calming a bit as she sat down, his eyes fixed on Sasha until she did the same.

"It is good to take care and affection and pride in one's looks. But~" He chirped at them both. "Solia wanted me to ask, do you want something sad, happy, slow, fast- what kind of a song would you like? I am very good at matching feelings to sound!"

Solia reached out fingers brushing one of his wings. "Yes, but please don't get wrapped up." Israfel just nodded. He'd behave.

No trying to fly in the tiny room.

The interaction between hunter and weapon was something that was fascinating to watch. Sasha often thought about attempting to put Nona in a golem since her return, but it hadn't been something she'd followed through on. Too many terrifying possibilities that Sasha wasn't quite willing to suffer yet.

"I'll be sure to encourage nest-building the next time she's in a golem," Sasha smiled softly, watching Israfel with a deep interest in her eyes.

"I'm feeling a little happy today, Israfel. After all," she moved to perch on the edge of the small bed, "I've just found new family, and I feel that's something worth celebrating, don't you?"

Israfel blinked once, mouth forming a tiny smile.

"Celebratory. Yes. That is a good thing to sing for. Of. Happiness!" His wings fanned out, and Solia tensed, afraid he'd knock something over.

When he didn't she calmed and smiled back at him, motioned him to continue. "Solia says my songs are very organic but unnerving at times. I hope you do not mind them. I am ah.. a siren after all." His ear wings twitched as he said such.

Closing his eyes there was a low hum that came from the golem's chest that carried in way audibly up and out of his mouth- It wasn't spoken word but rather a tone, like bell chimes mixed with flutes or notably violins. It was smooth in transitioning from one distinct note to the next, yet the fact that it was simple sound from voice rather than any instrument was odd. Distinctly inhuman in it's creation, yet not unpleasant. The song began slowly, Israfel's eyes closed as he started to raise and bring more of a joval sense to the sound. As he did so, his eyes slowly opened, glossy with a vibrant blue sheen, nearly the runic blue yet not as vivid.

Solia sat silently as he sang, looking over to just gauge Sasha's reaction. After a short time and the 'song' had picked up into something that could be liked to audible sunlight, Israfel was staring at Sasha, faintly glowing blue eyes fixed on her. Wanting his 'music' to reflect happiness upon her.

The instant that Israfel began singing, Sasha closed her eyes and simply let the music wash over her. Her thoughts stilled, a blessed silence that was a far cry from the usual quietude that settled in her mind. Israfel's voice was a beautiful thing, and as he carried on in song there seemed to be a low, resounding echo in her mind - it was completely familiar, and Sasha's eyes shot open.

She rose to her feet and clasped her hands over her mouth.

Nona.

The voice was quiet, muffled, but it was there - a soft trill, an answer to Israfel's own song. An answer to Sasha's own despair.

Sasha's sudden outburst cut the song abruptly short, weapon and hunter both reacting in similar ways. "Sasha, you okay?"
"Miss Sasha? My song wasn't bad was it? I can change it if you want. Really, I am rusty and this body is not one that I was born with so maybe it comes out wrong I didn't hurt you or make you feel bad or something-"

Both were worried, but while Solia reached out, Israfel distanced himself, wings curling around him, trying to make himself smaller, as if he might take up less space.

Sasha took Solia's hand, her fingers cool to the touch.

"Nona. She sang with you, Israfel. I think she's coming back to me."

She sounded genuinely giddy, her eyes bright with happiness.

If Sasha was okay then it was okay and everything was alright and no one need worry. But- "Nona? Nona sang with Isra? Oh wow! Israfel, n'est-ce pas merveilleux?" Solia barely noticed the coolness of Sasha's hands, and beside her the siren just cooed, smiling.

"That must be nice to hear. If she were here we could try a duet. But.. coming back? Did your Nona get lost somehow?" The siren asked with innocence but a sudden chill ran down Solia's spine. Why, or rather, how could a weapon be lost, or rather, leave.

Still, Sasha seemed happy. So- "Was it a good song? Like his or her own tune? Isra sings in.. that way of his. Halloween-y."

Sasha stilled and pulled her hands away from Solia. Her expression changed slightly, and she bit her lip as she looked away.

"I don't want to talk about it. Please, forgive me, Solia. Perhaps a day will come when I can talk freely about what happened to me when I was away, but not today."

She glanced up at her cousin.

"Today is a day to celebrate, I think. Not a day for talking of things that bring us pain."

Sasha's attention turned to Israfel. She smiled brightly.

"A beautiful voice. I am certain that Nona would love to sing a duet, once she is stronger. Once we are stronger." Her voice was strong, determined.

Oh.

Oh.

Solia wiltyed a bit, not realizing she'd touched tender spot until Sasha pulled away. "It's okay. I am nosy at times so, being told no is good. It makes me stop with keeps you comfortable and things plesant. Everyone wins when we know more of our feelings!"

Smiling, She looked to Israfel, who was peering from behind his feathers, curious yet not wanting to alarm.

"It would be very nice to have a partner. Sirens-Solia has read they sing in flocks, yet I've never recalled such a feelings or desire for such. But to sing with another? That would be quite different than my usual solos. If you must be stronger..."

He reached over, tugging on Solia.
"She should cook for you! Solia cooks many things! I do not know how they taste but she cooks! Eating keeps humans healthy!"

He spoke like she might not have known that eating was related to health. Not out of ignorance on her part, but more a innocent joy that he knew and could share such information.

Sasha's gaze sharpened slightly at the wilt, but she did not move forward to coddle Solia. Perhaps once upon a time she would have, but things were different now. She was different.

"Another time, I promise. And if Israfel says that you can cook, I would be foolish to turn down a meal." Sasha tried to smile at the pair, but the tension around her lips and eyes made it seem more like a grimace.

"If you would like to sing with Nona someday, perhaps I can accompany your duet with my flute?"

"Oh my gosh yes! I could make us something very nice- you like savory? Sweet? Any preferences? Allergens?"

Irsafel made a small wistle, not unlike that of a flute's toot. "Your face is very interesting." A wing reached out, not quite touching. "I like you Sasha. You are good." The siren smiled, going towards Solia, resting part of his weight on her shoulder, earwings flapping contentedly while she pet his hair.

"I think it would be lovely though, a duet. Israfel always wants to sing, plus he likes you." She offered as if it explained more than it did.

"And it would be nice to cook for more than just myself for a change! You.. could tell me more about our family maybe?"
