Logan let out the breath he'd been holding in as the Locust patrol passed by. He waited a few minutes for them to fade from sight around a corner before he pulled himself from the rubble he'd been laying in. Quickly he surveyed the area for any stragglers before he motioned the all clear the rest of his team.
'Alright, keep it quiet. Weapons cold, you are only cleared to fire if there is no other option" He said in a hushed tone. Logan moved out onto the street, keeping low and sticking to the wreckage of buildings and cars. He knew the layout of Tollen fairly well from first hand experience. It had been here where Sergeant Ross and the rest of Alpha had been killed. Logan pushed those thoughts from his mind, adjusting the watch cap on his head.
"These appear to be relatively standard patrols, rooting out locals, perimeter sweeps, that kind of stuff. We're going to latch on to one of them, see if we can't identify a larger force" He explained.
"Roger that Sergeant." Conner said in a whisper. "You got that back there? We are on infiltration ROE, return fire only." he repeated to his other squad member who he had not gotten to know yet, though that would change after this mission if not during it.
Keeping his perceptions high and his feet light, Conner was scanning the environment in search of contacts, either friendly or threats while relying on Kayez to guide the path of pursuit on the grubs they were following. He kept his safety on and his sight off to save the troubling possibility of detection through the Locusts either seeing his beam or hearing the collision of a bullet and concrete should one decide to fire on accident.
A small blimp in logan's ear told that there extra companion understood. He was called to this mission as an extra hand to help deal with recon. The man liked to believe it was due to his extensive work in this field that he was here but he would never know. With his cameo cloak pulled close to his body the soldier brought his sniper to bear on the locust patrol that passed them. He watched them like a hawk watches a rabbit in a forest. The man's weapon was solid black not a single of the neon blue lights shown from the weapon not did any form of light come from his frame. To any one else he looked like a living shadow unmoving not even his breathing could be heard. The man watched as the sarge and another squad mate began to make there way down the street.Only upon a one last sweep did the man come out of hiding. His foot steps where silent even on the asfault almost as if he didn't touch it at all. He took up the rear guard his scope scanning across the rooftop and lower streets. He switched to thermal sights, yet nothing popped up on his scopes. "All clear on the rooftops" the man said his voice barely a whisper into the mike. The man made his way up behind the rest of the squad and kept scanning for hostiles.
Katherine pushed herself off the wall she was hiding behind, grabbing her rocket launcher and hooking it around her back once more as the Sergeant got up from his rubble. She peeked around the corner, to catch the leathery hides of the Locust, letting out a sigh she climbed down a steep bit of rubble to join the others. She brushed off a bit of dust from her armor she finally donned halfway through the flight.
Despite her heavy attire, Katherine moved almost as silently as everyone else in the squad. She trotted a few paces behind the group, Lancer pointed down with her finger off the trigger. She never liked having a gun on safe in the field, it was just more work if it came down to fighting.

Sergeant Kayez had a good team behind him, of that he was certain. From what he had seen they all appeared to have their heads screwed on straight. As information flooding in through his earpiece he chewed his bottom lip, keeping a watchful eye on the locust patrol.
"Roger, keep your head up and on a swivel. I'd rather not have potshots taken at me in the event they do have snipers on these roofs." He said. "Landon, send Buchanan up and take her position at the rear. She has a lot more gear to carry and I don't want her to fall behind." He added.
"Sure thing Sergeant." Conner fell back in the squad to the rear position, signaling for their female squadmate (who he assumed was Buchanan) to move up where an careful eye could be placed to ensure that she stayed with the squad, not that he doubted her at all. It certainly seemed she knew how to carry herself and all her gear along too.
Now at the back of the squad, he made occasional sweeps behind them to be sure that they weren't being scouted while scouting. All looked clear, and so far it looked as if this was going to be another good mission.

Katherine nodded as she passed by Landon and moved up to the front. Even with her gear she didn't think she was gonna fall behind any, but the Sergeant probably knew best. She wasn't used to recon yet so it may have been subtle things she wasn't thinking about.
She kept her Lancer down but kept her eyes watching all around. She was on edge, all the quiet stalking about wasn't what she was used to. She wanted noise and commotion, something she can easily focus on. She silently exhaled to try and calm her nerves. Which didn't work half as well as she hoped.
"Anticipation is the worst..." She said to herself.
The light of the wreckage licked at Davian's face as he took a crouched stance next to sis current Sargent. Davian was scanning the roof tops with his scope. He still couldn't see any thing so he switched to thermal. The entire scene went a mix of purple and red as the scope began to pick up heat signatures. He caught a small signature on the roof off to the left but it was small. He clicked his mike and his voice came over in his Sarge's ear. "Sir permission to take to the roof tops to provide over watch." his voice was a hush.He kept scanning the side of the building and catching the glimpse of a pipe that ran up the side of the building that he could ascend to provide over watch.

"Negative" Logan said, moving from cover. "We go around one sharp corner and you lose all visual. After that we're down a rifle and ********> He said as he pressed himself against a building. He quickly peered around a corner to re-establish visual contact with the enemy patrol.Nearby he heard the telltale screech of a brumack and chewed on his bottom lip. 'Well that just made life alot harder' he thought as he waved the team onward and rounded the corner.
Davian gave a small nod to his commanding officer, bringing his eyes away from the pipe a little disappointed. He was known for excellent cover fire from above, being in places no one dare to go to take a shot. He lowered his scope and brought it to rest in his hands as he followed after his Sargent. Suddenly the Man froze the scream of a brumack sent shivers down his spine. he hated the beasts with all his heart. They where responsible for the death of his last squad and the place he grew up in. Davian brought his foot steps back to silence as the dying lights of fire danced across his armor and cloak. The fabric of his cloak absorbed the light like a black hole the light not reflecting of dancing across the strange fabric. His mind seemed to shift to Charlotte and wondering how her mission was going at this point in time.

Glass crunched under Logan's feet, halting him for a moment as he observed the enemy patrol. They seemed to be traveling closer and closer to the screeches of the nearby Brumak. The ground shook under his feet, indicating that the creature was close. As he rounded the next corner Logan could see the Brumak's head over one of the smaller buildings. He held up his hand, indicating for his team to stop before bringing them in close.
"Alright bad news, there's a Brumak blocking our path and we have absolutely no means to put it down. Here's what's going to happen, Cpl Landon you will have command until I get back. I strongly recommend that you let PFC Maxwell take point, he's an experienced sniper and knows how to stay quiet. No change to the ROE, you will not fire a shot unless you are being fired upon. The mission here is to observe what we're dealing with in terms of a larger force. As for me, I'm going to get that Brumak out of the way, stay down and stay hidden until you can move without being detected." Logan said, giving them all a chance to grab cover. He mentally prepared himself for the stupidity of the actions he was about to perform. Quietly he let out a breath and rounded the corner, bringing his breechshot to his shoulder, aiming and firing off a round at the Brumak. Logan pulled the action on the weapon back and raised it again, picking of one of the patrol members that had turned around.
The Brumak roared angrily as another round bit into it's hide. Logan emptied his magazine and quickly reloaded, slapping a fresh round into the chamber. he prepped a smoke grenade and tossed it at an alleyway as a volley of missiles streaked into a building overhead. The Brumak roared again as it charged through the small shop that separated it from the street Logan was on. As smoke began to fill the street Logan grabbed his lancer and fired shots into the Brumak as he pushed into the smoke. When he exhausted his magazine and the Brumak was sufficiently pissed off enough to begin chasing him Logan turned and ran. It was a good thing he knew the back alleys of Tollen, the information may prove to be the thing that saved his life. As he ran Logan clicked his PTT switch and opened up a comms channel with his team."If I'm not back by the time you call for exfil don't wait for me. I'll find my own way back. Kayez out."
Conner laughed lightly at the show he was just given, watching from afar. He flipped the safety switch on his Lancer to off and grasped the mid-barrel of his suppressor, assuring that it was tightened. "Then here we go then guys. Follow me for a sec." He led the team into a nearby building to discuss plans out of enemy sight while the brumak was chasing down the street after their sergeant. "So we'll do as Kayez said. Maxwell, you're going to be taking point. Buchanan, you'll be falling in behind me. We are moving up silently, and slowly. That smoke is going to be in the streets for a while, so we'll be screening ourselves for what we can behind it's cover. We'll be popping into some of the buildings for cover. Else, we maintain a stable distance from the enemy and following them to their base of operations in this area." he took a short pause. "Maxwell, you've got the advantage in that smoke with your thermal sights, so I need you to be the eyes out there, particularly on the rooftops. Enemy sniper fire is going to be hell, and even more so if they radio in our presence. Take a couple minutes to get your equipment tuned, and then we'll be heading out. Understood?"
Davian kept close to his Sargent his scope peeking over his shoulder at rooftops and down the streets picking up several squads of locust moving with the Brumak. Davian's eyes found his commanding officers face when he turned to address them. Davian missed about half of what he said until his name was mentioned and then it seemed in the blink of an eye he was running down the street he weapon barking to grab the large monster's attention, which worked successfully. He watched a building smash apart as the brumak gave chase and smoke begin to fill the street they where on. "great" he mumbled as he brought his scope to the rooftop. There he saw it a locust sniper with its weapon trained on his Sargent. To davian the world froze stuck in time. His training kicked in and in a fluid motion flicked the safety off, slowed his breathing and squeezed the trigger. The resulting sound was like a man punching a pillow as the weapon kicked spitting the round out and tore through the locust skull killing it before it even knew what hit him. Reality flooded back in like a wave crashing upon a ceremite wall. Davian followed after the corporal intro the building.
The building was damp and dirty. Papers lay scattered about on the floor around them as the corporal began to issue commands to the squad. The idea didn't seem safe to Davian. There was a rampaging brumak on the lose and they didn't know if there where any elite troops or specialist also accompanying the normal grubs. "Sir might I make a recommendation" davian said crouching down and setting his weapon on the floor. he pulled out his map and spread it out on the floor. His finger moved straight to the building they here in at just a glance of the map. "Where here" he said pointing at the building that they where in. "The enemy unit was moving in this direction" he pulled out a red marker and drew an arrow on the map in the direction the column was moving according to his judgement and the way the enemy moved in missions past. I recommend we move into the more heavily packed urban centers where it will be harder for the patrols to move about along with that brumak." Davian said circling a more packed portion of the city. there where also several large buildings where they could take a vantage point if needed on the larger enemy force that was still moving. Once he was sure he had explained his plan he folded up his map and put away. he scooped up his rifle and pulled his cloak tight against his body.
In the sudden wake of silence beside the roar of a brumak did Davian's ears hear it.The sound of chopper blades.' Did the commander request reinforcements?' he wondered as he moved to a window. he took up a position next to the window and leveled his scope. his vision suddenly got much further due to the magnification. He moved the scope across the roof tops before he finally saw it. A Raven was inbound, the number of occupants unknown."We have company" davian called over his shoulder to his corporal. he kept his eye on the raven watching it come around but so was another brumak that had broken off from the column. "thats not good" davian whispered as he watched teh chopper get closer.
▁ ▂ ▃ ▄Ɍeishka▄ ▃ ▂ ▁ ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± Hidden on the back of that Brumak with the shadows of the Kryll shielding him came a locust unknown. His presence brought fear and respect to those who followed his command. His armour dark red with the carvings of a Theron's look but it was..different. Leaning up and revealing himself Ɍeishka the creature hiding stood up on his ride and pointing his fingers he howled and screeched at the Raven. "Humans!" His voice booming and hissing loudly throughout the area. Placing one hand on the back of his ride he commanded it to lay waste to the chopper coming down.
Turning himself around he climbed his way down the creature and landed on the ground. When he came to full height he looked down at the Theron guards who came to his side to follow him and take orders. He began to walk towards the damaged buildings and looking around he began to see if he could pinpoint any other hostiles in the area. If that Raven was coming in surely they had some friendlies nearby. When he stopped to look he pointed his finger out and commanded his followers to scout the area. "Leave no survivors."
Turning to his side he started to walk over and into the building. His mission was still at hand for him and any other locust nearby. Recover any information that leads back to the COG command and bring it back to the Queen. This wasn't exactly the biggest priority but the grubs needed to be put into their place and learn true leadership from those above them in the rankings.
