A More detailed synopsis.

My book takes place in a realm known as Casin. A spawned and creationist world, it was made from the last blows of two Elder Gods, Rodus and Cain. Rodus was the shining God of Order that created vast beautiful worlds before moving on to the next project, leaving his creation to its own means and destruction. He created countless worlds before he decided to turn back and see what his creations where up to. What he found was worlds laid to waste by someone named Cain. Thinking it was a fluke he moved to his next, only to find the same. Worried, he went to the last world he had created, only to find it entwined in chaos. He searched and eventually learned that a man named Cain had come and set the world into chaos, recruiting people at the promise of paradise and started a war that grew and had destroyed most of the world. Rodus joined the war, turning favor as fast as he could. He hunted down and found Cain. To his surprise, his first blow against Cain did not even move the man, Cain smiled, and a battle that raged for days began. At the end of the long and bloody affair the gods landed one final desperate blow, destroying each other, and the worlds that they had touched. For a moment, for the first time since Rodus started, there was a silence that filled the entire universe.

Then came to be the Realm of Casin. From Rodus’ blood, the Realm of Casin was given the eight Gods. From Cain came the Daemons and monsters of the world. When their blood mixed the mortals came into existence. The Eight Gods found themselves scattered across the land, for the first thousand cycles they did not even know of each other. However in the first thousand years the Daemons, realizing their power and abilities far surpassed the mortals, rose to the occasion and took control of the surface world. The second thousand cycles found the gods meeting one another, banding together and eventually turning their attention the crisis of the humans.

The daemons having two thousand cycles to themselves, kingdoms had risen and fall. The current leaders subjugated all other breeds and kind that were not their own. The humans cry out for help, and no one hears their plea but one. The Goddess of Life cries for them her brothers and sisters, and they in return create an army for the God of Chaos to wield in a battle against the Daemons.

At first it is all smooth sailing, the kingdoms fall one by one. One after another until one man, wielding a black and gold cane, stepped into the fray. He sided with the daemons, working and united them into one. They fought tooth and nail, but in the end, the rapid evolution of the Daemons lost out to the focused creation of the gods, the Magi.
With the war won and the Daemons forced underground, the world fell into a lull of peace. For two thousand more cycles the world remained fairly quiet, as the mortals rose to their power. With the Magi out of war, they began to control the parts of the world that they could control best. All of them worked together for the continued growth of the mortals. All but one.

The Chaos clan called for power. They cried out and complained that what the gods where doing to them was the same thing that the daemons did to the mortals. The mortals praised the Gods for the works of the Magi, why are their names not called out in such honor? At first they could rally none to their cause, but soon, the others heard and join in their cries. Soon the Magi were split with the calls of war. Whispers filled the back rooms of the Magi leaders to revolt, to take the place of the Gods. Fortunately the Gods hear whispers of this, and they gave gifts to the Magi. For a time the Magi were appeased.

Then in the 5123 cycle, an Oracle confirmed by the God of Death and Oracles to be speaking the truth. She said “Of all the great gifts, none shall be turned upon its master. One shall rise, a Phoenix, as the moonless night sky, against the gods. They shall know the taste of death as the doors will open to them that had never been open before. The old one, the great destroyer and bringer of chaos shall be found once more. They shall march forward, and upon a burning blade shall they land from inside the walls.”

The next 500 years are days of dark bloodshed. The gods quickly worked on the powers that would allow them to destroy and phoenix, a bird known for rejuvenation. As soon as that was discovered, they began the wholesale slaughter and count of the phoenix. They believe that they had killed every one, and according to their numbers they had.

But no one expected them to be able to lay eggs. What would be the point? One egg survived and was hatched. The chick, defenseless and open to the world cried for help, and luckily he was found by the leader of one of the Magi Clans. The Magi’s name was Azthen. Azthen then raised the chick as a member of his own house, keeping it a secret. For sixteen years he was raised as the second eldest child.

This is the start of the story. The first book is titled The Phoenix. I am sorry but the story is written in multiple story lines, and I am trying to give you all the information, so I may repeat some information or may what appear to be random jumps or changes in sotry.

It is the start of a normal day in the world, however Azthen takes this day to show Tezalant his plan with the Phoenix. During Tezalant’s life, he has shown a great want and capacity for knowledge, as well as a very sharp memory. Azthen wants to shape this want and drive into something the entire Magi can use, a living vault of knowledge. He tells him he could go and learn from all of the magi and become a part of a much bigger world. He goes over the magi clans and the gods, before dismissing himself to tend to his daily tasks. During the day’s events of cleaning and sorting Tezalant falls and impales himself on a pole arm being held by decretive suit of armor. He is dragged outside, burst aflame and is hatched as a baby bird. Azthen uses his own magic to shift Tezalant back to his age before going to the house and explaining what has happened. Tezalant listens to what his father and mother has to say, and runs out of the house and into the woods. He goes to his little happy place, a small waterfall he can sit under and cold water to think under. While he is sitting there wondering what his future will hold he is greeted by Raiowood, Goddess of the Forest. Raiowood is then told that Tezalant is a phoenix, and that the family is fine, she calmly excuses herself.

Raiowood then runs to the Temple of Time, a Palace located in the middle of a vast desert in the middle of the continent that they are currently on. There she informs both the Goddess of Fire Passiaon, as well as the God of the Heavens Haizews. Haizews freaks out and check his records, seeing that he had not made a mistake he suggests one reproduced, and then quickly goes to Warmersis to handle the problem.

One of the magi at the Temple of Time was also pleased to hear of this news. It was The Doktor, magi that had developed the idea of Phoenixes and helped them be created with Haizews, he also knew of their destruction and could do nothing about them. He quickly set out to find this last phoenix and save him from destruction.

Warmersis the God of War and Chaos is well versed in the droves of mercenaries, assassins, and other people that would allow them to continue their free and living existence. He quickly makes his way to the man that he thought would be the best and most reasonable means to solve his problem fell on the shoulders of Asin and his men. Asin is told that he is to kill all in the House of the Magus Azthen. Since a Magus is the highest ranking Magi, they tend to be very formidable foes, and Azthen is an old wise Magi. The agreement is met, and the assassins are forced to use the weapons provided by the gods, the same weapons that can lock down souls. The men selected to kill this foe are the top men of his staff. Roilvn Whiro a rather brash and at times hot shot Daemon, Wholfe a Lycanthrope, Jehestar the calm collected monotone, Tramp the Monster, and Asin a Val-Larian. (Val-Larians are close to Vampires.)

During this time, Tezalant has finished his day’s work as well as a fair amount of training with his father. He was on the process of returning home when his elder and younger brother attacked him in the woods. While running to the house Tezalant manages to throw his older brother and knock him out. However since it was the older brothers turn to collect wood that night, they send Tezalant out to collect fire wood. As he is leaving to collect the wood however, he is seen leaving by a group of daemons.

Asin and his men watch Tezalant leave, but seeing that Tezalant had black hair and Sky Magi tend to have white hair they mistake him for a Chaos Clan messenger and allow him to leave. Soon after he leaves the team moved into action. The successfully kill off the Magus Azthen, as well as his wife and three children. Not realizing that Tezalant was the true target Asin, Tramp, and Jehestar quickly return to the tavern they operate in. Wholfe who was injured in the altercation with the family cannot travel at the break neck speeds that he normally can manage. Moving slower Roilvn decided to join him and help protect his friend in his weaken state.

Tezalant returns home to find his entire family slaughtered, and two of his horses to be stolen. He end up weeping over his younger sister for the rest of the night. During the night, the Magi of Death Greil appears to take the souls of the dead to the other realm. However he only finds the soul of the young daughter because she was killed with one of Roilvn’s personal daggers, and not one of the swords the gods had given out that would trap the soul. Curious about the lacking number of souls, he escorts the young girl to the other realm and will return to our story later.

Tezalant is woken up in the morning by the Doktor finding his location. The Doktor and Tezalant burry the bodies, hiding the fact Tezalant is not dead by burying a deer body in his place filled with magic. The turn and begin their way toward the capital for all of the Chaos Magi.

They then move to Marshal Detevic of the town and tell him of the deaths of the families, as well as the burning building. They tell him that no one, not even Haizews can know that he was there, and that he should be forgotten. The marshal quickly moves to the house. During the day the The Doktor and Tezalant start their journey. Near the end of Midday, Warmersis appears and checks the graves, claiming he had heard of the chaos that had come.
During that time Roilvn and Wholfe have made good time, not stopping in the night, and having been moving at a good pace due to the horses find themselves about a day out from headquarters. They also find themselves trying to be robbed by a band of former soldiers from a past war of the Seven Kingdoms. The Seven Kingdoms is both an area as well as the government. There are anywhere from twenty-three to one kingdom ruling this continent, however, the common name for the region is the Seven Kingdoms, moving on. Roilvn and Wholfe are stopped, and Roilvn offers a bet mostly to humor himself. He agrees to give up every valuable on them if he has one man that could best him in one on one combat. The selected combatant is Usris. Uris almost catches Roilvn while being cocky and fascinated the Daemon who wants to learn. He defeats Usris and rather than killing him he calls a life debt to learn his tricks. The bandit group did not fare much better when they tried to rob Tezalant and The Doktor either the following day.

Having encountered bandits, The Doktor has a new feeling that they need protection, and so he decided to visit a tavern that he had heard was one of the best on the continent. It just happened to be the same one that Warmersis visited and hired. He end up hiring Usris and Roilvn to guard him for the duration of the trip. He does make note that it is a long trip, and with a very high pay, he sent Roilvn in part because he can do the job, and in part as a punishment.

Of course, Tezalant agrees while in the tavern and starts to move on. However Tezalant does remember the horses that he had trained and learned to ride on, so upon seeing them he starts a fight with Roilvn. Roilvn being the superior fighter puts the young boy in his place by knocking him out, and they begin their journey.

During this time Haizews has gone to the Clan he created and began to pay a toll for his sin, he finishes the toll the next day, a statue of Azthen and his family. The Gods move with a breath of relief. Hemell, the God of Death and Oracles had confirmed that all is as it should be. However Hemell is not aligned with the rest of the god’s intentions, rather he has a book, with the title The Realms of Casin that is Rodus’ plan for the entire world. He chooses to follow that plan, and in that plan, Tezalant still remains.

However with confirmation payment ensues. The gods shell out the money, much to the objection of Mythane, Goddess of the Mountain and of Wealth in general. However after some goading, Mythane and Warmersis engage in combat. Mythane kills Warmersis using the control over metal and stone that she was blessed with. She them moved to deliver the payment. With the Mercenaries all paid, the gods decide to retire and resume normal life. Crisis averted, all paid up nice and pretty.

Tezalant and his group continue to the Capital of the Chaos Magi. However as the progress, they do not know that Tramp is both hunting to Pay Roilvn, as well as he has realized what the main point of the job was. He has recognized Tezalant as a Phoenix and the true valuable target. Roilvn is struck down in a fight at the entrance of the Capital, The Doktor and Tezalant quickly move to the entance, leaving Usris to deal with Tramp. And Usris pulls out the stops and cleverly defeats a much larger and better killer.
