PRP between Gypsy Song (Cyhorse) and Vyrikyr Taerdos (Angelique DelaMort)

User ImageVyrikyr stretched out lazily basking in the early morning light. Most days she woke early without a problem, but just this once she wanted to try and sleep in a little longer. But of course as soon as the sunlight hit her face her body yearned to be up and about. Which was too bad, because she really wanted to enjoy the unique warmth that came from stretching out in the sun. She blinked her golden eyes open slowly, looking around and taking in the meadow that she picked for a resting place the night before. She had been traveling on her own through the lands her family frequented, just off on her own version of finding an adventure. It really hadn't been a particularly eventful adventure to date, but she was meeting new soquili so that was a plus. What she really hoped for was to find a traveling buddy, much like her own father had found her Aunt Sonja then eventually her own mother to travel with in their early days. But for now, she was content traveling on her own - seeing what she could see and maybe even getting into a little bit of trouble along the way.

The morning sun had awoken the draft stallion from a rather peaceful slumber. A golden glow illuminated the ice covered mountains that the stallion usually inhabited. Due to the cool weather, Gypsy decided to make the trek down the mountain to where most soquili roamed freely among wide open plains. Usually the tricolored stallion preferred to stay up in the mountains, but on this beautiful morning he could not resist the urge to find adventure amongst the other soquili. Gypsy's mind seemed to dance along as he thought about the eventful day that he had only just begun. Notes filled the crisp morning air as the stallion hummed softly to himself. He did not wish to wake whomever might still be enjoying their rest after all.

Warmth from the sun caused a smile to rest on the stallion's maw as he hummed softly. This warmth was like magic that seemed to fill the stallion with pure joy and happiness. Was this how other adventurers felt? Perhaps this freeing feeling was not from the sun, but from not being stuck in a cave that sat on the mountainside. His heart sank at the thought, but he quickly pushed the thought aside when he saw something bright red in the distance. A bird perhaps? No it was too big to be a bird. Maybe, just maybe, it was another soquili. His pace quickened as the stallion headed in the direction of the red and blue clump of colors.

Vyrikyr shook her head trying to brush away the last of her dream and giving in to the fact that she would not be sleeping any longer that day. She laughed at herself as a few twigs and leaves fell from her mane. "Did I somehow manage to fall asleep on a nest?" she wondered aloud to herself trying to blow a particularly stubborn twig from her bangs. "Some little bird is going to be pretty mad at me..." She looked up to see a large stallion approaching her at a speedy pace. "Well now, haven't seen him around before," she mused to herself rolling to her feet and spreading her wings. Most of the soquili she'd met on her adventure had been good, kindhearted souls, but she could never forget her father's warning to be careful around strangers/ He still had the scars from an unfortunate encounter with a walker before she was born.

Gypsy came to an abrupt halt when the mare stood up and seemed to stare at him with curiosity with a mix of wariness. He gave her an apologetic look as he drew closer. Once he was close enough to the mare to speak without having to practically yell, he bowed his head deeply and finally spoke up, "Hello, miss. Isn't it a nice day?" It was nice to have a cool day like this. He could finally explore the soquili lands without being lathered in a layer of sweat. His blue eyes rested on the mare as he shifted his weight slightly. The large stallion's face twisted slightly as he tried to think of something that he was forgetting. Oh, right! "I'm Gypsy Song, but you can just call me Song... or Gypsy. Whatever you wish." A quick smile flashed on his maw before he sighed softly to himself. Perhaps being alone all the time was starting to ruin his manners.

"Good morning," the mare said regarding the male with interest. "It is a lovely day, a good day to run, it seems," Vyrikyr regarded the stallion with a reserved curiosity. He seemed hesitant and uncertain with his words. It was sweet, in an kinda awkward way. "And-" she added trying to surpass her own awkwardness, because really she only met new people when she was challenging them to a race or some such thing. "It's nice to meet you Gypsy or Song." She grinned, "My names Vyrikyr Taerdos, but you can call me Vyrikyr. What brings you to this part of the plains?"

The stallion paused for a moment to assess the situation. He wasn't use to communicating with other soquili and was fairly content with living alone in his cave, but curiosity had gotten the better of him on this day. A small conversation was always refreshing to him... even if he was a bit awkward at first. As he began to shift his stance once again, he moved his heavy hooves. When they landed, they made a 'badoop' noise and the stallion smiled a little. What an interesting sound...

The stallion shook his head as he stretched out his wings and listened to the sound of his feathers. He was doing it again! Gypsy blinked a couple of times as he focused fully on the mare. What a beautiful voice. Wait! No focus, Gypsy. He thought to himself as he smiled at the mare. Her question caught him off guard and he fumbled with his words a little as he tried to think of what to tell her. "I'm here on... um... well... I don't really know. Curiosity I suppose. You see I live sort of far from here... where it is colder." He stopped himself from going off on a long story about himself and he tilted his head to the mare. "Why are you in this part of the plains?" Did that sound stupid? He couldn't tell if he was making himself look like an idiot. A soft sigh escaped him as he waited for her to either turn and run from him or continue the conversation.

"I live around here," Vyrikyr replied cheerfully, subtly noting to herself that he seemed far away from the conversation - like his mind was elsewhere. Maybe up in the clouds, like mine, she mused to herself. "Well, actually my family lives around here but I can't stay under Mom and Dad's wings forever, you know? At some point, you have to get out and see the world for yourself. And that's what I'm doing, slowly. I mean, I don't want to travel along so at least I have to find a faithful companion but it seems those are kinda in short supply. I'm still hoping to find a nice wolf or something...." she paused mid-sentence and offered a half smile. "Sorry, I guess I ramble first thing in the morning." Vyrikyr added, "You said you came from someplace cold? What's it like?"

He found himself focusing on the mare more, now. It was rude of him to not listen to her properly! Later, he would beat himself up about it, but for now he needed to stay focused on listening to her story. Sounded like she had a normal past and was now looking for something more in life. It was a feeling he knew all too well, but alas he was constrained to the icy mountains.

A gentle smile overcame the male's features as he nodded his head to the mare. "It grows dull whenever you are stuck in one place doing the same thing day in and day out. Parents are great for support, but you can't stay hidden in the nest forever." Gypsy nodded his head at the thought, then looked back up to the mare and gave one more quick smile, flashing a little bit of teeth this time which caused his grin to have a somewhat goofy appearance.

When she apologized, he chuckled and shook his head. "I was enjoying listening to you! Companions can be very difficult to find... especially ones that seem to like the same things you do." He shrugged his shoulders before glancing up at the sky then looking back to the mare when she asked about the mountains. "Oh! I could go on and on about my home." He paused for a moment as he tried to pick out what he would talk about. "Well... for starters I live in the mountains, so its kind of hard to get to where I live if you don't have wings." The stallion awkwardly shifted his stance as he tried to think about what to say next. "Um... and its really cold, but you knew that already.. right." Gypsy cleared his throat and paused for another moment. "It is really quiet and honestly kind of lonely."

"Quiet's not necessarily bad," she replied with consideration. "I grew up with a brother and a sister and an aunt and...well, it was pretty noisy growing up. I think my mother likes it that way though, she gets nervous when things are too quiet." Vyrikyr blew at her stubborn bang that always seemed to drift into her eyes, "The lonely thing, though, that could be a problem. Maybe you're the one who needs a companion?" she bit her lip in thought, "Oh, how about a nice snowy owl - a companion in the snow and in the skies? Fierce hunter and great protector...or, so I've heard..."

He imagined growing up with a bunch of rowdy siblings and smiled at the thought. Oh all the trouble he could cause if he had a few partners in crime that would stick with him for life. Sadly, his sibling was nowhere to be seen in this new land Gypsy had found. "I hope to have a big family one day." Gypsy smiled at the thought as he nodded his head to the mare. "At least you always had someone around to talk to or play games with as a foal."

When she focused on him and talked about his need for a companion, he shrugged his shoulders slightly. At this point he was used to being lonely all the time, but it would be nice to have a little friend to keep around. What if he couldn't find a companion he got along well with? A snow owl? He perked up slightly at the thought. He had seen a few of those while traveling down the mountain! "An owl. I could see myself getting along with one of the many owls that I have seen in the mountains." His head nodded quickly like a foals as he imagined himself flying side by side with an owl. "So why do you want a wolf companion?" Gypsy finally asked, realizing he was just talking about himself... how rude yet again.

Vyrikyr grinned, "I have an affinity for dangerous creatures with sharp teeth. I get that from my aunt, she brought a mountain lion cub home one day and while the little thing adores my aunt she started taste testing my father on day one." The golden eyed mare giggled, "To this day he's still worried Nightstalker thinks he's on the menu. But once you bond with them, they're like partners, dearest friends, and they'll always have your back. And if someone's going to have my back, they gotta be able to keep up with me and I move fast! So a wolf or a lion like Aunt Sonja would be best." She nodded in the affirmative, "Besides, if you don't have anyone else they can be like your family. My gosh I've even seen some with families of their own!"
