A massive family was a massive pain in Jamii'binti's hind quarters. She had more siblings than she could count on her front paws, and a lot of them proved to be rather annoying to hang around with. Her parents were absolutely crazy to have as many children as they did, but she had learned that large litters tended to run in the family. Well, not with her! J'B was determined to be very unlike her parents in that regard. She couldn't imagine being tied down by so many cubs. J'B already knew what it was like to grow up with so many of them underfoot that she definitely did not want to wish that upon any potential child of her's.
Nope.
It wasn't going to happen.
J'B had fled the attentions of her family for the day, straying far closer to the border of the Pridelands than she should. But, she liked to do this a lot. She liked to pretend that one day she was going to step over that invisible boundary and go on her own sort of adventure! But, she also suspected that she would never follow through with that whimsy. While her family annoyed her, she loved that, she didn't quite know what life would be like without them. She wasn't even sure she'd like it. So, she felt almost bound to the Pridelands, because she was deeply bound to her family.
It wasn't just her parents and siblings, she had far more cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles than anyone could reasonably keep track of. It was a small bit of a nightmare to try to remember the names of them all.
J'B paused underneath a tree, taking some shelter from the harsh sun underneath its branches. She'd have to turn back soon, before someone panicked about not seeing her face for a couple of hours.
