Quote:
Tall Jeweler: Roll a d100.
1-50: He has Amber to sell
51-100: He has Silver to sell This tall thin man has a receding hair line and hands that show the calluses of a craftsman instead of a warrior. His clothes are elegant and expensive looking. His wares are mostly semi-precious to precious stones, but lying amid the glittering stones are 3 chunks of Amber or some orbs of Silver. While they are pretty and can be made into decorative pieces, you remember a peer or teacher remarking that they can be used in potions or enchants.
You may converse with him while you peruse his wares and create any conversation you wish, you may also merely quietly look at his wares and only ask how much; this is entirely up to you.
You may either leave the stall and go visit another one, if you do so and then come back, your first roll will still apply, or you may talk with the stall keeper and buy the stones.
Reward: x2 Amber or Silver
You will need to write 200 words for this prompt alone for him to sell to you, any less and you will not receive the items.
As she wandered about, one merchant’s stall caught her eye. He sold many sparkling stones, maybe he had amber! Kadryn may not have been a rock collector or adored shiny things like others, but she didn’t mind a few stones… She walked up to the Oblivionite merchant. This was a smuggling town, so the merchants here didn’t care about race for the most part, if you could pay they’d sell.
“Have any amber in?” She asked as her eyes scanned the bowls full of many sparkling gems, the colors and reflecting light making her smile.
“Not right now no.” He said sadly as he inspected an elegant and delicate ring on his hand. “Cintrines, pale orange quartz yes if you are looking for something with that color.”
“I’m not sure exchanging amber with something else would be good for the spell,” Kadryn said with a smile as her eyes got caught by two spheres of silver. She rembered a different recipe she hadn’t purchased. It had silver in its ingredients… so if she couldn’t get amber, maybe something else that would be useful later?
She and the merchant bartered spiritedly, mostly for fun since it was obvious that both of them didn’t have any urge to really nail down a price and move on. The market wasn’t bustling yet, that would happen later in the day. Nor was Kadryn in a hurry.
