Areo had been wandering around the outskirts of the rougelands for a couple of hours now and was wondering if he'd run into anyone particular. He had met quite a fair deal of lionesses on the outskirts and a couple of hyenas which he had scared away all too easily. Having sated his curiosity for the time being he decided he would sit down and take a moment to rest. The day was still young, but it didn't mean it was cool. It was starting to warm up a great deal already and he was feeling the warmth soaking into his dark coat. He smiled and gazed around, eyes searching for any wanderers.

The pale lioness had taken to the hot roguelands after her pride had disbanded. Friends and family alike were gone and probably never to return and so she found herself lost, worried, but not afraid. Arwen was not a ladies lady, unless necessary, and had a tricky personality. She came across as fragile and 'needs a man', but that was how her pride was. The women may not have needed the man, but not having one meant she was unclaimed and simply felt unwanted.

This particular day was certainly hotter than she was used too and she had found a tree or two on her way to no where. It was only within the last few miles that she had started to become thirsty and in desperate need of a drink. Without water she could feel herself becoming weaker and weaker, though it was a slow pace, it was steady. So when she had sighted a dark creature in the distance she didn't even question her judgement.

"Hello?" She called out, her paws carrying her bit by bit, hiding the shaky strides she was beginning to get by slowing her pace. She walked a little further, found another small tree with some shade and simply stared. The lion she was gazing upon was rather large, had a dark pelt with strange orange markings. She could not see the look on his face, if he was malicious than she'd left herself without a chance of escape.

As his gaze darted across the landscape he was about to just give up on running into someone and just head back home when a voice cut across the empty vastness of the rougelands. His large head swiveled and he looked behind him to where the voice had seemingly came from. Nope, not that way. He turned and looked the other way and found himself not to far from a pale lioness in the shade of a rather small and pathetic looking tree. Poor thing. "Hello." He called back, his voice thundering in his chest almost. He forgot how loud he sounded sometimes. He made a mental note to talk slightly quieter.

Massive paws carried his bulky frame forward and he closed the remaining distance between himself and the female. He wondered where she had come from. It was like one minute he was alone and BAM there was someone else here. He cocked his head slightly as he watched her, she seemed friendly enough. He wondered why she was alone out here. It was dangerous. At she didn't look too tough. "Are you out here alone? It's dangerous." His voice full of concern.

She watched, closely, but with little concern. He seemed almost unaware of his surroundings, perhaps he was not a guard, but just a member of the pride she had begun to smell. There had to have been a group of lions somewhere nearby for the odor of a border to be so strong. She was off in her own state of mind when he finally noticed her and spoke. He seemed sincere in his hello, and even more so when he came closer and spoke again. His voice was deep and enchanting she found herself listening even as the words faded. Giving her head a good shake and reminding herself solidly that she no longer needed a male to have status she chose to speak again. "I'm alone, and aware." Her voice was full of contempt, or weakness, but she could not steady herself and nearly let a shake or two through.

"Would you know of a source of water?" Arwen had spoken before she could stop herself. Her needs were becoming far to vast for her to really realize what position she had put herself in. She should have known better than to assume she would find as much food and water as she wanted. Arwen had begun to scold herself as she waited the reply and even allowed her rump to hit the ground roughly and let her head hang slightly to relieve the pressure that was simply building in her muscles.

She had been away from any form of luxury for far to long and it was beginning to wear on the lioness.

He really wasn't the best at the rouge lands, If he had been in the pridelands it would have been good gravy but he still wasn't 100% familiar with the terrain. Even with his week of rougedom with Kynthia he still had a lot to learn. He was fine with leaving to go exploring for a while at a time but overall he was quite content with the pridelands and couldn't fathom himself ever truly leaving it. Plus his sister was here and he loved izzy to much to leave her unprotected.

At least she knew it was dangerous out here. She really didn't seem to fit the common description of the average rouge that was wandering around. She looked clean and kept, though extremely exhausted and hot. Not hot in the sense that she was attractive, which in fact she was, but hot in the sense that she needed to cool down.

"I passed one not to far from here back that way." He said pointing towards the east. It was a fairly nice looking one compared to some of the ones he had encountered. "Would you mind if I accompanied you to it?" He was such a gentlelion.

The male lion before her seemed to be gazing around, he was not nervous though, just simply appeared to be curious. It was almost as if he didn't belong here. "You grew up in a pride, didn't you?" She asked, breaking the silence before he could answer her question. She didn't need an answer to where he was born, she could simply tell. It was probably the same way she was before she found herself in this place and position. Surviving on ones own for a while made herself committed to learning the life she wasn't truly meant to lead.

There was a pause, as if she had almost been voicing the question in her head before realizing he was mapping himself out. When the male spoke Arwen turned to look where he had gestured and smiled in that direction. Water. "You can accompany me so long as you talk about your home. Deal?" She asked politely, finding her paws begin to carry herself from beneath the cover of the pathetic looking tree and into the sun. Her eyes automatically narrowed as she gazed at the male, the sun was behind him now. "Are you coming?" She spoke again, rather agitated.

She was an up front sort of lady wasn't she? He couldn't help but find her interesting, his interest was peaked for sure. He smiled as she left him hardly any room to respond and she gave a laugh-like sigh and followed her. "Sounds like a fair deal to me." His voice held a tone of laughter to it and he padded swiftly after this curious female. She was so demanding, he liked it. Reminded him of his siblings.

"To answer your first question, yes." He said as he caught a stride beside her. She wanted him to talk about his home, what could he talk about that would be interesting? Guess he'd just start somewhere and see where it went. "My home isn't very far from here; north that way a day or two." this was going far better than he thought, "The lands are green and rich with life. There are always plenty of herd beasts and never much violence." He wondered if there was anything else she wanted to know about it. He figured she'd ask if she wanted him to go into further details.

Soon the male was matching her pace, she liked this a male whom would listen to her and not the other way around. She had no idea the world could be so reverse, did this male have many females? What could his Beybanu possibly be like? She wondered these things silently and listened as he spoke. "Rich with life? Your pride is large?" He spoke of it with great pride and humor. He was proud to be in a home place like that and she found that enticing. Perhaps she could talk him into bringing her home. Before he ahd a chance to answer she was ready to move onto another subject, she simply had to know.

"How many females are in your Pad?" Arwen had no idea that though her pride had carried out certain ideas of how a pride should, his did not share the same. His pride would not have a pad, heck he would not even know what she meant. But again, her mind was clouded in judgement as her experiences left her sheltered beyond belief, this was her first time experiencing another male let alone another pride.

While waiting for response she let her eyes wander, where could this water be?

He was quite taken back by her outspoken nature. It was a breath of fresh air, being around her. One question after the other she seemed to want to know it all and wasn't really giving him any response time, which was fine by him. He had needy siblings, sometimes, so this wasn't anything new for him. "The pride is very large." He wasn't sure how many in numbers they were, but they had quite a few. His family alone was 8?

Her next question confused him and he had to think of it. Pad? What was a pad? Like a group? He had no group for one, let alone any females. "If I'm understanding correctly what you've asked, then I have zero females." He was sure he had answered her right. He noticed her looking around and he gave a smile. The water was right this way. It literally was minute or two walk before the water came into view. He would stand watch so she could drink first. "Ladies first." He said waving his in front of him in a gentleman like manor.

"Sounds cozy." She said, exploring the horizon with her eyes again for that watering hole. When he answered again, she paused in her step allowing him a few foot falls ahead of her. "You have.. zero females?" She was bewildered and his knowledge allowed her to continue to be sheltered. Perhaps he had just reached adulthood and was out journeying for his first lady, was SHE his first lady? Arwen blushed at the thought and then finally continued her pace.

Low and behold what patience brought! Crystal blue shimmers seem to twinkle on the crest of a small hill, more of a crest. The little droplets that caught the sun as wind blew seemed to dance above the service of the glittery blue liquid. It was absolutely eye capturing and need hit her hard. Though she had not broke into a sprint or anything, she absolutely picked up her pace, she wanted that water bad. Upon reaching it with the male at her side she barely waited for his ladies first before dipping her tongue right in. The cool elixir poured down her throat as she pulled it in to her mouth. When she had taken a good few laps she paused to breath. "This is heaven." She said.

It was at that point she allowed a smile to reach her otherwise tight lips. The smile was purely for the male and it was in that moment that she realized how truly rude she was being. "Forgive me, my name is Arwen." The smile only left her lip for moments after when she took another drink, when satisfied she dropped her rump beside the water and stared at him.

"It is quite cozy. I think you'd enjoy the lands." He said with a small smile. He hadn't met one that didn't like the pridelands. Her reaction to his earlier statement was a bit bewildering. She had literally stopped, almost dead in her tracks, and he looked back at her as he continued walking. Was he missing something? "Yes?" He was sure of what she was asking, the only females he had were his siblings and mom. He didn't have a female play mate or friend beyond that. That was what she was talking about he hoped.

He couldn't help but chuckle as she almost sprinted to the water to lap it up graciously. Clearly she had been thirsty. He stood watch to make sure nothing ill would happen to her as she replenished her water supply. He smiled at her remarks of the water being heaven and he knew what she was feeling. Going that long without water, it was the most amazing thing in the world once you had it again.

He looked over at her and he watched her smile and if you could have, you'd of seen him blush. She had a lovely smile and he gulped the lump in his throat. "You have such a lovely name. It suits you." He said walking towards her to take a drink of the water himself before responding. "My name is Areoiris. And no need for apologies. I know how the heat can get to a person." He said with a charming grin.

Once the question of females had faded with her thirst so did her memory of asking about it again. She simply moved on from the subject and finally, in a comfortable manner, was face to face with whom had become her savior. "Your name suits you as well, stud." She smirked slyly, he was a handsome fellow. Large, muscle and the dark fur was what she sought when she was back home. He was, perhaps, put on these lands to purposely find her and gift her with many things in life.

"I appreciate your concern about my well being Areo... may I call you that?" She nearly purred, her smile remained true and genuine. She hadn't ever been around a male whom captivated her for such a length of time. Perhaps it was due to his being foreign, though it was she that was foreign to these lands. Arwen could appreciate the local pieces of art, so to speak, it wasn't like any trouble could come of such things.

Growing up with sisters hadn't prepared him for what was about to happen. His time with females hadn't been as much as he would have thought growing up and he had meet a few ladies here and there, but none like this. not like her. He liked it but at the same time, what did he do next? His cheeks were blazing, even though it didn't show and he swallowed and he stepped back a notch. "Thanks." He had no idea what to say!

Her purring voice was intoxicating it seemed and he couldn't help but give her his most dashing grin. "You can call me whatever you like." He deepened his voice a tad and gave her a twinkling look as he winked at her. Maybe he could do this. It wasn't too hard right? It seemed to start to come more fluidly once he started. He had his dads smooth words, did he not, even if he had never met the brute. "So, what was a fine young vixen like yourself doing out here all alone?" Yea, he was getting it. He was so proud of himself. He hoped he didn't sound dumb
PostPosted: Sun Feb 16, 2014 10:30 pm

The dramatic pieces of silence that had seemed to lift her spirits ended up plummeting as he spoke again with a 'thanks'. He had to be young, atleast freshly grown to adulthood, he was inexperienced with females, she could tell it. Then all her thoughts and depressing visions of teaching this young ruffian about what it takes to be a man vanished when he seemed to shape up. The deep, delicious voice seemed to linger a little in the air, making it thick rather than fluid. "My pride was disbanded and friends, family alike vanished... But, you dark handsome fellow, why don't we talk about you?"

At this point Arwen had come back to standing, paws carefully moving as to not ruin her motions with stumbling or any other embarrassing feat. This lion may seem young, but he was certainly catching on and fast. It impressed her that he was damn nimble and she wanted to take this a step further. Without processing a thought much further than that she moved towards the water. This was done in such a way that she didn't have to take her eyes off of him as she stepped by she let her tail move up and glide along his chin, giving a form of call to entice him to the water.

She needed to cool off anyway, why not do this with luscious company?

What had he gotten himself into with this one? He needed to learn the ropes and this was probably the best and only way that he was going to learn how. He really wasn't sure what was going on, he had a pretty good idea. He was smart, he could do this. He had this. The topic of conversation seemed to switch though and she wanted to talk about him. What about him? Clearly he couldn't respond with any simple response. He had to be suave, debonair. He could do this. Breath. "And.... he paused for dramatic effect as her tail brushed his chin beckoning him to the waters with her. His voice grew husky and he finished. ..what of me? Perhaps we can talk about you."

He gave her the best eyes he could and he followed her towards the water, he had already forgotten about how hot the day was because things between her and him were heating up pretty quick. He was sure he was on fire with how she talked to him. He hadn't felt this way before and it was odd for him but he liked it. Whatever this was. The water was cool and refreshing to the touch as he stepped in after her. "I do like the chase." He teased.
