Bix was taking advantage of the nice weather even if he needed to be laden with sunscreen to do it. His daily workout was done and he'd laid down some of his archery drills. The sun hunter stood out with a whitish glow all of his own, clad in his usual uniform and scanning a fat notebook. He was attempting to organize a ranged-tactical workout. He'd yet to utilize his specialization fully and hoped to have a open invitation practice soon. Always the social creature he occasionally glanced up, nibbling the end of his pen, and scanned the fields to see if anything of note was going on. His red eyes always, inevitably, found nothing interesting and dropped back down to the book.

Sasha had been in a thick fog of dysphoria since her return to the island, going to great lengths to avoid anything that remotely resembled action. She spent all of her free time on the training fields, sparring with the dummies there. Sasha would hack at the wooden dummies until her clothes (loose and ill-fitting) were soaked with sweat.
Today was no different - aside from Bix standing in the center of the archery field.
It would be nice to fight with something that actually fought back, even if she wasn't looking forward to all the questions that were sure to come along with the spar.
Sasha faltered briefly, summoning Nona. There was a muffled sound, though a little more discernible than it had been days past, and Sasha hummed softly to herself.
"Bix." Her voice was soft as she called out to him. There was no harm in asking if he'd be interested in a spar, right?

It could have well as been a shout with the way Bix jumped. He was the type who always leapt when something surprised him. It probably wasn't the most effective quirk as a hunter, but when he was on missions he made more of an effort to be aware. The Sun hunter spun, eyes wide, until he saw Sasha. She was thin and her hair had possibly quadrupled in length since he saw her last but it was her. Ofcourse he was absolutely clueless about anything that had happened to her. People seemed to come and go for months all the time so it wasn't exactly odd. "Hey! Sasha! How are you?" Bix's notebook was flapped shut in his hand and the pen stashed behind his ear. "Been a while. Mission?" He finger gunned, "Liking the hair. I could braid the s**t out of that, by the way. If you need help."

Sasha watched Bix with something that resembled amusement. She seemed incredibly relieved - he wasn't asking questions - and merely nodded at the one question regarding her disappearance that he had asked.
"I'm doing well. It was a mission, yes." Shifting Nona to one hand, Sasha reached up to touch her fingers to her hair with a slight frown. "T-thanks."
She wasn't entirely sure why she hadn't cut it yet. Part of her didn't feel as if it was hers to cut. Part of her hated it as the constant reminder that it was.
"I'll be sure to give you a call if I need help braiding it," Sasha flashed a weak smile, "but for now I was wondering if you had time for a spar? No charge attacks, nothing serious. I'm kind of... out of shape."

"Yeah.." Bix popped his pen into the pages of the book. There was something currently very subdued about Sasha. The last time he'd seen her she had been almost fierce. "I could use some close combat practice. It's kinda boring on dummies." Bix backed awaya few steps and summoned Mina. She was gleaming gold, smooth lines, and flashing red gems. With a click on the grip two feather shaped blades popped from the ends. He held it in the middle with both hands in preparation. Bix gave Sasha a nod that he was ready when she was. "Mission a success?" By the slightly haunted look in her eye, Bix wasn't sure he should have even asked.

"A success of sorts," was the only reply she gave before twirly Nona's blades idly in her hands. Mina was given an appreciative look.
"I haven't been feeling myself," Sasha warned, "so if I seem out of practice, that's why."
Understatement of the century, that.

She moved immediately after she stopped speaking, Nona's blades gleaming with an unholy, silver flash. Sasha swung with one blade and then the next, rapid fire - and both connected with brilliant accuracy.
Sasha darted back, panting softly, that slight exertion showing just how... out of shape she was.
HP: 50/50

"No problem.." Bix smiled, waving a hand dismissively while still holding the weapon. He wouldn't press anymore about the mission as it was very obvious that the young woman wasn't keen on sharing. He almost missed trying to block but Nona's claws slid easily off of the raised bow, metals shrieking together and coming down on his shoulder. Bix spun the bow quickly, slashing towards an opening with the bladed end. HP: 53/60 Dmg: 6

Mina's bladed edge whistled past Sasha's ear, landing solidly against her shoulder. She grunted softly as an odd, musical sound picked up in the depths of her mind. It was easy to pretend that Nona was singing to her.
Sasha lashed out again, Nona's hooks reaching out for Bix with a ravenous hunger that belied the placid expression Sasha wore.

Taking the hit from the claws, for a moment, seemed to be Bix's plan. When the claws sunk in, Bix grinned. He couldn't feel it with Mina's sheild encircling him in tight possession. The strategist seized the opportunity to rap the weight of the bow hard down against Sasha's wrists before wrenching himself free from her weapon's grip. HP: 48/60 Dmg: 10

The attack would have been incredibly painful if not for Nona's shield, and Sasha looked slightly shocked by the offensive move. It took her a moment to recuperate, and when she did, Sasha moved in low. Kneeling on the ground, Sasha made a sweeping move with the hooked ends of Nona's blade in an attempt to knock Bix on his a**. HP: 34/50 Dmg: 7

Nona's hooks were perfect for pulling legs out and Bix's were no different. He made a foolish 'oof' noise upon crumpling backwards. Bix rolled away as fast as he could and then, strangely enough, ran a bit in the opposite direction. As much as he needed close combat practice, it was always good for others to try a taste of some ranged weaponry. Bix turned to fire a quick volley, sure that she was probably advancing on him but taking the risk anyway. HP: 41/50 Dmg: 4

Sasha was small and quick, and usually she might have been able to dodge such an attack flawlessly - in this body, she was slow, sluggish. The attack caught her across the hip, but the effect was minor. Her own attack came quick and high, Nona's runes flickering violet. HP: 30 DMG: 6

Sasha's slight form was fast and difficult to hit. Bix was too reliant on his arrows and took the next hit squarely. It was then he decided he had to use his size to his advantage. The archer slammed his bow hard into Nona. He hit the hooks squarely on, making the strikes deliberate and easy to block. Except he kept hitting, one bladed end, then the other. The gold hit silver and the metals clanged with every heavy blow. He didn't give her a chance to retaliate yet. Over and over he slammed the weapons together, throwing his body weight into every strike. Perhaps he could tire her frail arms out or maybe just push the woman back with momentum. He didn't stop until he was satisfied with her position and finally struck back. HP: 35 Dmg: 11

Bix was quite a bit larger than the petite Life trainee, and when he used his size to his advantage, it worked flawlessly. She was panting after being driven back, her arms feeling sore and heavy. Her attack came slow and weak, and Sasha made a soft sound of frustration. The shield her weapon provided was growing weak, but Sasha wasn't ready to call it quits. HP: 19 DMG: 4
