Now that the weather was warming up, Ayala was more than happy to start getting out to explore more of the island that they lived on. She knew she should be more cautious, but she just couldn't help herself. Especially with the warmer weather. That was how she managed to wind up lost once again.

She let out a sigh, knowing she was somewhere in the Ithyl Forest, but not certain where exactly where she was. She kind of had to wonder how she managed to get herself lost so many times. But then, she wasn't entirely certain she wanted to stop, she'd seen some pretty neat things doing stuff like that. Sure, she'd gotten stuck in a well before just being utterly lost, but she got out of that pretty safe.

It was when she was running a hand through her hair that she spotted something white off tin the distance. White, in the Ithyl Forest? What was white this far into the forest? Or was she almost out of it? The trees did seem a little thinner around these parts. The wolf faun frowned a little, utterly lost. "What are you?" She asked aloud, chasing after the white thing. It looked like.. Well a bird, but it was white and she couldn't tell what it was! Were there white birds? Ayala really needed to get better at remembering that stuff

Lannister was busy making the final preparations to attend his apparent grandmother's party. Mostly, making sure that the couple that had volunteered to go as a 'present' were really wanting to go still. It seemed unethical to give away a living and free thing as a gift, but he had to think of it as taking the swan to a new home where they might be safer. Certainly, he would evaluate this grandmother before he entrusted these swans in her care.

It had been incredibly difficult with the recent cold spurt to get much done as far as beautifying the place and making it more inhabitable for himself. He had to furrow away inside of one of the trees and insulate it with down feathers to keep warm. Now that the weather was warming up there was some framework laid down for his own home.

For the most part, this part of the forest had seemed to be fairly quiet, and definitely more quiet then the other forest which seemed to receive more traffic. He felt like the swan were safe here in the sanctuary that he had called them too. Though he still kept a watchful eye over his flock.

When Lannister heard the honking sound of a swan coming from a little ways away, Lannister dropped what he was doing and grabbed a long rod of a stick. It was the closest thing he had to a weapon, and something he feared to use. The red and gold fairy hoped that whatever swan was calling would remember not to lead whatever was chasing it back to the sanctuary. He would meet him in the forest. Lannister jumped up and let his wings carry him towards the call.

Ayala squeaked, the thing honked! "What are you?" She asked, trying to get closer to it. She didn't want to alarm the white thing any more than she clearly already had. The faun was just curious, scaring anything was the last thought on her mind! Ayala blinked, reaching out to the thing, trying not to spook it.

"Are you the only one like you?" She sounded so very curious about it. But it looked like she was scaring the white thing. Now that she got closer it looked more like a bird. But the wolf pawed faun couldn't bring herself to get any nearer to the bird. It certainly wasn't anything she'd ever seen before!

It wasn't long before Lannister had come upon his swan friend and its 'pursuer'. The male had learned to move as noiselessly as possible through the forest, although he was always fairly noiseless even as a child. He was quickly becoming very familiar with the landmarks of his new home in this forest as well.

As he perched on a tree limb, he determined that though the pae looked like a predator, she was merely a curious individual. Lannister could understand why, his biases aside, swans were beautiful creatures. He hung his legs over, the tree branch, debating on whether or not to say anything. The swan itself had calmed down now, aware of Lannister's presence.

Lannister hardly ever spoke to anyone, even before he became almost like a hermit. It wasn't that he couldn't talk, he just chose not to and preferred to find other ways to communicate. Finally, he decided to say something, perhaps the solution to the swan's plight was teaching other pae about them.
"He isn't the only one...but his numbers are few." Lannister answered, his voice sounded soft and musical. He jumped down from the tree and let his feet land gently on the ground.

Ayala jumped, squeaking as she scrambled backwards a little. She hadn't expected anyone to jump out of a tree when she was trying to get closer to the bird thing. "What is he?" She asked, trying not to sound as shocked as she was. The faun tried to smile, feeling bad at getting so very spooked at him. He didn't seem like he was angry at her for anything, but he knew about these bird things. That meant she wanted to get to know him, if only for more knowledge about the bird thing.

"Oh! Hi~" She smiled, forgetting to introduce herself. "I'm Ayala, it's nice to meet you" The faun waved, holding a hand out to him to shake.

Lannister looked down at the ground, feeling bad for making her jump. He wasn't the most socially comfortable pae, and he should have known a sudden appearance like that would have spooked someone. Afterall, it would have spooked the swan if it hadn't already known he was there.

"He's a swan." Lannister answered. He could understand why she didn't know. Most pae had never seen a swan, he had only ever seen one before someone started killing them and that was with having a special connection to them. Which was why it made less sense to him that someone was able to kill so many before he got to them.

Lannister walked up to the swan and petted its back, and it nibbled back at his fingers gently.

He looked back at the female as she introduced herself. "I'm Lannister." He offered a soft and shy smile.

Ayala smiled. "A swan? He looks like a really big white duck... But prettier." The female laughed a little. The swan really did look pretty, but she was reminded of a duck. "Does he swim too?" He seemed to know a lot about these creatures, even if it was just what they were. Or where to pet them. It was a heck of a lot more than she knew!

"He seems to like you a lot. What did you do to earn his trust like that?" She was curious, really curious. Ayala really didn't want to scare anyone off, the swan of Lannister. She hoped they could be friends. Especially if it meant she could see more of these pretty swans. Or even just the one he was taking care of right there.
