What is Thread?
Glad you asked! Thread is the name given to a voracious, non-sentient organismn that inhabits the Oort cloud of the Rukbat system. It's appearance is that of a thin, silvery thread that periodically rains down on Pern. Thread is a mycorrihoziodal spore that consumes any organic matter it can find, but can be deterred by metal and rock. Can be killed by water, cold or fire.
Firelizards and Dragons share a natural instinct to destroy Thread. Dolphins and fish will eat whatever Thread lands in the water. It can burrow and destroy all vegatation in areas, becoming larger and more dangerous with everything it consumes. When it does this, if not immediately destroyed, it can leave fields infertile.

Our Thread System
How to play: There’s no sign up for this game, just feel to join as you like, though you have much more chance of winning a prize if you join at the start. Each day a new round will be posted, with the first being after this post. Each round, roll a ten-sided dice for each of your riders, how high they score is how well they and their dragon did. This game is rp based, there is rolling, but it’s really the rp we’re interested in.
Scores: 1 – 2 = You’re hit! 3 – 4 = You missed it, still, at least you weren’t hurt 5 – 6 = You just managed to catch the tail end of that patch, but a good amount escaped 7 – 8 = Over half the patch was destroyed, only a few strands escape 9 – 10 = The entire patch was destroyed, well done you
Damage: We won’t be forcing serious injury on anyone’s characters. Should you roll a 1 or 2 how much damage you want to take and whether it's to rider, dragon or both is up to you. If you want it to be a light scoring, that’s fine and if you want to have your character to end up in the infirmary for a sevenday or more, that’s fine too. We do ask that you are realistic about it though, if in round two you choose to have your rider seriously injuried then they are going to have to drop out.
