Life was difficult. It was hard to turn the page of her book with just her thumb while she balanced her lunch tray with her other hand, but with a bit of maneuvering she managed. Charles could tell her all about reapers, and often did regardless of whether she wanted the information, but other creatures from Halloween were a mystery to her. The book of ghosts in her hand was also her lunch companion, and she couldn't put it down. Somewhere she registered that someone was at the table she was headed to, but that was about it. She set down her tray, continuing to read as she groped around her tray from eating utensils, dipping her salad fork into her soup. Totally paying attention to her surroundings. Chirigami Sorry I'm really tired but I really wanted to get something, anything started![/qute]

And that person at the table was suddenly very much aware that someone else was coming to the table he was sitting at, prompting Milo to turn from his own reading (one of his salvaged magazines) and smile broadly at the new table companion. As he usually did. But she hadn't as so much as blinked at him. Causing his lips to purse for a moment and formulate a plan.
Many came to mind, even as childish as to throw a piece of his bread at her but those never came to be after he got a better look at her profile and something flashed in his memory. (And Koume groaned). It was probably the conversation with Abbi that got him to do the more direct approach, or Koume just telling him to stop being a dumbass, but Milo scooted himself closer to the girl. Bringing his own tray of food and his magazine along of course. "'Ey, you had that dream too right? We met in it, ya?"
< Yeah, that doesn't sound weird at all... > ramenli no worries, sorry it took a while to reply

For most people, bring up a fork of soup would have distracted them from their book. Or someone moving right next to them and speaking directly to them. For Taani that was not the case. She was in a section of the book about ghosts dealing with slime and goo, and it was disgusting. Absolutely nothing was going to distract her. Nothing except stabbing herself with what was supposed to be a spoon. She let out a quiet swear in Hindi, dropping the offensive fork, and then swore again when she noticed the droplet of soup on one of the pages. Scrambling she grabbed a napkin to blot it up, setting down the book for a moment and then, only then, noticing someone next to her and jerked slightly away. The droll voice cut through her mind, but she ignored Charles easily enough. Not quite a team, not yet. Instead she was taking in the man next to her, and finally after a moment her eyes widened. "I've danced with you before haven't I?" Important things first, facts like dreaming could come later. chirigami Ahahaha I take the longest

That was a fork going into soup, wasn't it. Milo just watched it happen, maybe should have said something. Kind of lifted a finger, was maybe ready but she eventually figured it out. And swore in some language he didn't know. Still sort of had to smile.
And at least she finally noticed him, responded and confirmed. Milo leaned a little closer to her, "awesome, you kinda remember that, ya?" See, Koume, she totally didn't find his question creepy. She still objected.
"Yeah, we danced for a bit and you got mad at me, we had a lost in translation thing goin' on." You know, the usual; girl thinks you called her an undergarment sort of thing.ramenli event is over! All the tags!

Taani hummed, nodding or shaking her head, it was somewhat hard to tell with the bobble she was giving him. In her mind it was a clear "yes, probably" though. Ah yes, the misunderstanding. She was a bit miffed thinking about it, then she realized what he had said. "That is a movie reference, correct?" She seemed to be brightening up by the moment, actually setting her book aside with the handle of the fork as a bookmark, and turning her full attention on him. And once she was focused, especially on something like movies, she was focused. "I understand that reference! Do you understand the reference that I have just used?" She seemed rather ridiculously excited, and was waiting for him to answer. Just waiting. Literally moving to the edge of her seat waiting. He was starting to speak her language, and he if proved to be proficient? "Do you watch any Bollywood cinema?" Yeah, she couldn't resist asking after all.

And he watched her, unsure of what the whole head moving thing meant at first, it seemed to Milo that it was perhaps a 'probably' but it was hard to tell for sure. Her question didn't help either.
"Not really," Milo began to answer because it really hadn't been but he could see how it could have. Wasn't it the name of a movie? Or something? Seemed possible from her reaction, really it wasn't hard to notice that shift in tone from her. She seemed positively beaming over the subject matter, apparently he had struck good. "Maybe." He added in before addressing the subject of references.
"Ya, I get that one." The Sun chuckled as he scooted just a little bit closer to her, his tray of food forgotten at the moment along with his magazine which was neatly beneath his elbow. "But can't say I've watched too many Bollywood movies, know somethin' about them. Colorful and musical, ya?" The first half of Kamen Rider Hibiki came to mind at that one, it had been similar. Kind of.
