Ref Test 3.

Roughneck Dark, the PokeManiac

Versus

Dragon Tamer Maddy, the Demon Overlord

  • Each combatant will have 3 Pokemon. The format will be single battle.
  • Withdrawing a Pokemon will be allowed.
  • Each Pokemon's max stats will be used. HOWEVER, Natures will be taken into account. This has been agreed upon by both combatants.
  • The stadium will be as follows (modified from Colosseum page to suit 3v3 singles format):
  • Each Pokemon is allowed a hold item. For the purpose of the test, it need not be an item the combatant owns.
  • Each Pokemon is allowed to have a single O-Power. This O-Power will be consumed and must have been acquired before the match.
  • Movesets will not be restricted to 4 chosen moves. The FULL moveset of the Pokemon will be available to all Pokemon. Please be creative as this is a test.
  • Class powers are available, but it is highly unlikely that either of the combatants have them. This has been an agreed upon term by the combatants. You may only have the abilities of one class for the duration of the battle.
  • There will be no healing outside of held items.

Dark walks onto his side of the field, sneezing up a fit at all the dust in the area.
"Someone really should keep this place clean.. Anyway..." He tosses a Pokeball and a Monferno appears. He watches the other side of the field, waiting for his opponent.

Maddy entered the stadium, on the opposite side of Dark. She sent out her Frogadier.
"Good luck." She said, smirking at Dark. "Just because you're attractive doesn't mean I'll go easy on you."

Maddy smirked as rain began to fall.
"Awesome. Frogadier, use Surf!" She commanded her Pokemon.
The frog Pokemon conjured up a giant wave of water to wash over his combatant.

Dark holds his hand out and feels the rain fall. He frowns, noting that he should've done his research on the arena. He knew of weather but thought it was random.
"I had planned for a super-effective hit but not one boosted. Anyway I hope you last this hit. Thunderpunch!"

Monferno braces itself as the wave of water towers over it. Unafraid and ready for anything, it attempts to power through the wave, digging its feet into the ground.

Monferno 332-507 = -175

The water is too strong, knocking Monferno off its feet. The Fire Type is swept away, and sent flying across its half of the battlefield, landing K.O.'d in front of its trainer.

Frogadier wins. Jeff, send out your next pokemon.

Dark frowns and recalls his Pokemon. He then sends out his Kirlia.
'Okay Misery, I'm gonna play it a bit safer with you."
The Kirlia turns to look at Dark with a large frown. She stares him in the eyes and lets out a terrible sigh.

Maddy smiled as Monferno went down.
"That was a whole lot of luck on our part. I didn't even know it would rain first."
She studied their newest foe and looked at Frogadier.
"Let's try a Dark Pulse."
Frogadier released a powerful aura of dark energy, powering it with his mischievous thoughts.

"Misery, use Protect and wait out this abysmal rain!" Dark orders, hoping to at least remove a bit of the disadvantage.

Frogadier hops up and down, a dark flame building in its palms as it jumps. Upon its final landing, it shoots a shock wave of dark energy outward toward its foe, staring the Kirlia down as the attack grows ever closer.

Kirlia dances in place, unwavered by the oncoming attack. It spins around gracefully just as the Dark Pulse is about to hit, creating a barrier just in time to block the attack. The wave of energy dissipates around it as the Fairy lowers its barrier.

Frogadier's Protean ability makes it the Dark Type.
Kirlia traces Frogadier's Protean ability.

The rain comes to a sudden halt, the water drops left suspended in the air evaporating as a strong sunlight appears, shining brightly upon the combatants.

"Hmph." Maddy frowned.
"Try it again! Dark Pulse!"
Frogadier nodded and repeated his attack.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 08, 2014 6:22 pm

"Well, at least that's done." Dark's eyes dart from his Pokemon to Frogadier to Maddy and back to Misery.
"Okay Misery, Dazzling Gleam!"

Frogadier starts to hop once more, building the same energy as last time. It hops higher the final time and lands hard, forming small craters at its feet. The energy is quickly dispersed, aimed right at Kirlia.

Frogadier's Protean ability makes it the Dark Type.

Kirlia continues to dance, still unafraid. It is hit by the attack, engulfed by the dark energy, and forced to its knees. The pokemon struggles to fight the darkness from taking over its body, but manages to shake it off and rise to its feet.

Kirlia 280-95=185

Kirlia 185/280

Kirlia's traced Protean ability makes it the Fairy Type.

The Fairy does its best to shake off the damage and continue, raising its hands in the air as it pirouettes, light sparkling and falling around it. The pokemon stops spinning, pointing its arms in the direction of Frogadier, and fires the light directly at its opponent, hitting it hard.

Frogadier 312-218=94

Frogadier 94/312

The sun continues to shine brightly upon the combatants.
