Being blind wasn't as bad as others thought it might be. Though sometimes it was hard to know if danger was about. She stretches her wings as they start to feel heavy after awhile. Maybe it is because she doesn't use them all that much anymore. Her familiar up head scouting the area for her as she walks about but the sun felt good on her coat. So she called out to her familiar that they could stop here and sun bathe for awhile. Laying down as her familiar goes to the lake near by to play. Harumi lays her head down on one of her front legs as she closes her eyes not that having them open would be noticed.
Taking her nap she doesn't feel as if anything could break this wonderful day. Little does she know. Something wicked this way comes.

One of Kumiho's greatest advantages was the fact that she didn't reek of death. Many of her ilk did...bits of blood and skin caked into their fur...even the more 'clean' ones she had heard of would have breath that could plow over a buffalo. Rot in the gut, it was... and since Kumiho had to resort to savaging on large prey during the lean winter months, so knew how easy it was to smell like death when you feasted upon it so readily.
But in addition to keeping her pelt pristine, Kumiho had learned to keep her insides as fresh as her outsides. She knew how to pick white oleander and roll in it after it had been sitting in the sun and just started to rot. How ironic that flowers actually smell their strongest when they are dying!
After particularly flagrant meals, Kumiho would also chew on bark and wild mint leaves to freshen the scent of death in her breath. Sure, it tasted vile but the lengths she would go to smell just as beautiful as she looked!
And all the discomfort she put herself through as a slave to her hygiene was made worth it when she came across an opportunity like this. There was a mare she had been stalking for the better part of an hour now..studying her movements. She wore bandages over her eyes and moved with a jolted caution; indeed Kumiho was fairly certain this mare was blind.
The delicious possibilities caused her tails to wiggle about excitedly. When the mare seemed to stop for a sunbath, Kumiho decided to make herself known. She stepped out of the tree line and approached slowly, nonchalant. When she got close, she put an aire of false concern in her voice. "Oh, dear, are you okay? You look hurt!"Kara Asumie Sorry for the late reply! Muse took a vacation!

Hearing the voice of another. Harumi perked up her head. "I am fine. Thank you. All of these wounds are old. By a year or so." She slowly gets to her feet not smelling danger. And without her familiar who is off playing in a lake near by. So to her this voice belongs to a beautiful mare. "You sound so beautiful. It is a shame I can't see your beauty. Do you know this place well?" She wonders as she stays in places she knows well because of the fact that she is blind.
Once to her feet she bows to the area the voice seems to be coming from. She then stands straight up once more.

"I know them well enough," she said, forcing herself to make herself sound pleasant and friendly. "Though I do tend to travel a lot." She stepped closer, knowing the blind mare couldn't see her scrutinizing stare. "They are wounds, you weren't born blind?" she asked with false concern. "Oh dear, what happened?"
Kumiho mentally braced herself for a long winded sob story. Of course she didn't give a damn about her or who hurt her, but the more she knew about a victim, the more acutely she could hurt them later. She could make it...personal.

Hearing the mare ask about her wounds. "No I wasn't born blind. I let my pride get the best of me. Picked a fight against two stallions and ended up blind." She kept it short after all she was and has always been one to get to the point then drag something on. After all she had known ones that dragged things on and on.. That was annoying and she wouldn't go there.
Stretching her wings out and then tucks then back to her sides. "Sadly these wings have become nothing more then an annoyance." She had pointed out as she can't really fly in the sky as she can't see. So only time she flies is with her familiar.

"Your pride?" she asked, her ears perking in interest. Indeed, pride was one of those things that Kumiho could easily manipulate. Gaston was prideful, and not look at him! Though, it looked like two stallions had already done quite a number on her, perhaps it would be best if she just put this mare out of her misery?
She smiled. Of course that would be merciful... a perfect reason not to. She would make sure she knew that. Perhaps she could make her beg for death, then leave her wanting?
She eyes her wings, too, as she spoke of them. Nothing but burdens? Perhaps Kumiho would lighten her load...later. "I don't mean to be prying," she lied, "But what happened? What happened to those horrible stallions that did this do you?"

Listening to the Mare as she answers as best as she can. "Well yea my pride was sure a foolish thing. I know better now. And about the stallions. I believe they are both fine and well somewhere." She points out. Trying to figure out the breed of this mare. She was wondering as she listened to the mare's voice more. Something about it. Though she can't pin point that something at all right now.
Stretching her legs as standing still makes her ache a bit. So she has to stretch from time to time. If not she gets so achy that she doesn't wanna do a thing but lay down. And well horses of any kind shouldn't lay down for too long or their insides twist about and they can die. It is a danger they all share with how big they are. She knows this so she tries her best to not get so achy.

Kumiho frowned at the dodgy answers. What had happened? Were they skin walkers? Kalona? Why did they blind her but allow her to live? Was someone else using her tactics?? This thought sent a bubble of rage through her whole body; so much so she had to swallow the growl in her throat as to not give away her cover.
"That doesn't seem very fair," she said, trying to probe without being too obvious. Kumiho wasn't exactly versed in mundane pleasant conversation, however. She didn't have a clear view of what was 'normal' conversation and what was simply being too nosey. "What happened? Why did they hurt you?" She tried to force a semblance of motherly concern in her voice; only time would tell if it was working.

Hearing the mares voice as she then believes that she could tell this mare a bit more about it. "They were two wind Soquili that I came across one day. They were playing a game on which one could get me to fall in love with them first. My pride and I didn't feel like playing their game. All went to hell and back after that." She points out as she takes a breath. "I was blinded the edge of one of the stallion's hooves when he reared up. That is about all there really is to that."
There was a bit more but the reason and how she was blinded is all that mattered. She wasn't going to allow herself to be swept off her feet by a stallion that didn't really love her.

Wind stallions? That seemed off. Kumiho off-handedly wondered if they had any relation to the Thunderbirds, or if that could be used to her advance for any reason. But more importantly... a game to see who could make her fall in love? That was just devious enough Kumiho almost respected it.
"What a horrible accident," she said, the sympathy falling a bit flat. Her brain was already twisting, trying to find another weakness in this mare to exploit. "But you seem to be managing at least? Haven't yet fallen prey to any hungry bears..." or skin walkers.

Listening to the sounds around her.. Then heard the mare talk about hungry bears. Something was off. There weren't any birds or animal sounds. Why didn't she notice this before. "Oh my friend that is normally with me. Keeps me from such dangers of bears and other creepy things. But with the day so nice. I sent my friend away to play." She points out. "Horrible.. Maybe to others. But to me it was a lesson to be learned from. As for managing... Yea I do better now then the month it happened." She points out as she stretches a bit. Her body telling her to run now. After noticing all the sounds of wild life in the area is dead silent she is nervous a bit.

Kumiho's licked her lips, her tensing motions not going unnoticed. She was losing this one, so she had to act fast. "Oh, such a shame your friend isn't here right now," she said, in her false concerned voice. "Do bears and things not attack on such wonderful days." She stayed close, making sure if she tried to bolt, Kumiho would be able to nab her. "You seem to be taking it in stride," she admitted. "I think most Soquili would be ... devastated to be blinded. Especially over what seemed like such a trivial affair?" Her lips up ticked into a smile. "Do you think about them often? The ones who blinded you?"

"There are far worse things then being blinded. And no I can't say I think of them all that much. It happened in the past and well there is nothing that can change the past. So why bother to think and whine about it." She points out still uneasy after noticing that there are no other sounds but this mare's voice and her own. Something was wrong. Dangerous was near. But how close is something that Harumi can tell. If she could. Then maybe by now she would be far away and safe. That not being the case she is just going to keep her guard as well as she can.

Kumiho frowned and upturned her lip in frustration. She couldn't really understand how someone could be blinded and seem so nonchalant about it. Was this what Gaston was like now? Just prancing around like it was no big deal? The thought infuriated her, and she felt her claws twitching. "What could be worse than losing your sight?" she asked, losing interest fast in trying to sound genuinely concerned. She looked down at her bandaged legs, and her wings; already judging her strength and where could attack to inflict the most damage... mentally.

Harumi smiles to the mare as she shakes off the uneasy feeling. After all what will happen will happen. She must be prepared and ready in case this mare is truly evil. But she doesn't know just how evil this mare that is before her is. Nothing can ready her truly for what is to come. "Well losing sight is nothing to the stories I have heard from those that escaped death from walkers. Because one can learn to live without sight. But to be hurt to the point you no longer wanna live. That is worse." She stretches out her wings as she can still fly. Though not all that well without her familiar telling her what is in front of her.
