Talia looked nervously at her phone, debating whether or not she wanted to go through with this. After all, there was the inevitable chance of rejection ... Talia had never actually been rejected before (mostly because she'd been the one doing the rejecting) so it was a little nervewracking.

She shrugged, shaking away the insecurities and boxing them away for the few precious minutes it would take to make a phone call.

Her fingers flew across the number pad, and eventually the phone was ringing in her ear, calling one Dominic. "Oooh please don't make me leave a message," she said anxiously as the phone continued to ring.

The raven-haired nineteen year-old was slaving over yet another project of his, though he'd smartly gotten a few hours of sleep in the previous night. He just happened to wake up a bit early, which was a miracle since it was actually his day off. A real day off, you know, since it was Saturday and all. His phone was set nearby, just in case someone decided to try and pull him away. Honestly, he was kind of hoping someone would, so it was something of a relief when the contraption suddenly started ringing.

Blinking, Dominic set down the cog that was in his hands and wiped a bit of sweat off his brow before screening the call. He'd been doing that more often now, mostly because he didn't want to accidentally go and pick up a phone call from his father, but that was a whole other can of worms. This particular caller was none other than one Talia Chu, which brought a small smile to his face as he picked it up.

"Hello, Talia. How can I help you?" he answered in his most professional voice, his smile widened just a smidge as he wedged the phone between his ear and shoulder and went back to work. It wasn't really normal for him to call her by her full name, but he did every so often when he felt like joking around with her.

Finally she heard a voice on the other end of the receiver. Absolute music to her ears- so far so good right? Had he ignored her it would've been humiliating rejection.

"Oh um. Hi Dom," she said, curling her toes into the folds of her blanket. "I was wondering if I could cash in on that rain check for coffee?" She quickly added (out of nervousness), "Maybe ... as a date?"

Well there, she'd said it. Never let it be said that Talia didn't have the balls to do something. She was still slightly nervous, but at the same time she could never forgive herself if she chickened out.

The nervousness in her voice flew right over his head, and he simply smirked at the sound. For all he knew she was doing something a little distracting so he couldn't say what exactly it was about the tone in her voice. Still, what came out next probably would have had him choking on water had he been drinking some. Not to say that it didn't catch his attention, because it definitely did, and amusement danced in his cerulean blues as he set his work down again and properly held the phone to his ear.

"Whoa, one sec," he started, getting up and moving out of his workroom to grab himself a drink. This was most certainly a pleasant distraction from what he'd been working on for the past few days, worthy of a nice soda. Or juice, if he still had some. "Is the Talia Chu asking me out on a date?" he asked, his tone all teasing as the smile on his face turned to a smirk. It wasn't a big deal to him if a girl asked him out, and actually a part of him found it particularly flattering, so kudos to her for the forwardness.

He swung the 'fridge door open and perused the shelves, his eyes catching on a bottle of Sunny D and his free hand making a grab for it. The raven-haired youth was more than happy to prolong whatever agony she might have been going through, though not to be mean. He just found it curious that someone who was often rejecting date offers to be the one doing the asking.

If he was expecting agony, he wouldn't soon find it here. Now that the question was out there, Talia had nothing else to be nervous about. It was the asking that was hard, not the continuation or what came afterward.

To his sarcasm she gave a laugh and said, "Yes, I've decided to grace you with my presence." Seeing that he was full of sarcasm, Talia considered it a good sign. After all, he would've been awkward had there been rejection. "I'm saying do you want that lunch date or not~"

She didn't quite yet have the courage to tell him she had a crush on him. Rather, she didn't want it to be over the phone. She'd much rather have it be in person. It was best to start with a date!

Tal was always quick on the return when it came to sarcasm, one of the things he found he liked about her. Dominic rolled his eyes at the "presence" part, though he was still smiling as he took a sip of his juice. "Well how thoughtful of you," he retorted as he set his juice down on the coffee table. Of course, he had no plans on saying no, but it was kind of fun drawing the conversation out.

He let her question kind of linger over the speaker, as though he was actually pouring over the decision like he poured over trigonometry exams back in high school. Of course, silence over the phone wasn't a very good thing, so eventually he cleared his throat and nodded. "Be a shame to let such a gracious offer go to waste, so I'll take you up on that lunch date." Eh, kind of a lame answer, but it was still a "yes." Dom whisked the juice up and tipped the rest of its contents into his mouth before continuing.

"Time and place?"

Talia smiled something more gentle, not that Dominic would know. "Mmm, I'm up for anywhere. Maybe the jitterbean? That coffee place on ... 3rd street I think?" It was a tiny little coffeehouse, nothing special, but it also served lunch in the form of a deli and soups counter.

"How does noon sound?" That was a good time for lunch, yeah?

The teen leaned back into the couch, a smile playing on his lips as well as she picked the setting for the impromptu date. He would have figured something like zip-lining would be more her deal with dates, but maybe since it was a technical "first" for them she was going for something more...normal? He didn't mind either way, though. "Jitterbean at noon, got it. I'll see you later, then." And with that he hung up and checked the clock on the opposite wall, noting that he still had just under two hours before the set time.

Which got a soft laugh out of him, realizing that she'd called rather early just to ask him to lunch, as he got up to start getting ready. He wasn't the sort to take forever or anything, but he didn't like feeling rushed either, so earlier was usually better when it came to these sorts of things. Of course, anything related to his dad was, again, a whole other can of worms. Anyway, he was ready within the next hour, clad in what could probably be considered casual but still workable outfit in a date setting. Besides, it was just lunch, right?

Here's a ref for his outfit, because I just suck with descriptions. :'DD Hope you don't mind me moving this along a bit, though. xP;

Talia was early with her phone call and early to arrive to their lunch date. Arriving right on time was considered late to Talia, and early was merely "making it in time." She had outtfited herself in an equally safe date outfit, dressing up as much as she would any other day. There weren't really "lazy" days for Talia.

"Hey~" she called from the table she'd sat down with her book, which she quickly tucked into her backpack. She threw him an awkward smile, not really liking shouting across the diner. "Over here!"

And apparently his early just wasn't early enough, and he walked into the store with his helmet in hand only to be greeted by a cutely dressed -- but then, she was always like that -- Talia waving him down. The looks he caught from other customers were met with a grin, proud almost, if a bit embarrassed, and Dominic quickly made his way over just as she tucked her book away. A smile had spread itself across his face as he took a seat, setting his helmet down in the empty seat beside him and shrugging off one of his jackets.

"Am I late or something?" he asked, a brow quirked as he casually tossed the jacket over his helmet. Still, the smile was there so he wasn't seriously worried. He dropped his eyes to the watch on his wrist and huffed, soon looking up and meeting her gaze again. "You're just early. Nice." His hands idled only briefly before going up and flagging down a waitress to politely ask for some menus.

Once she was gone, he could help but add, "Unless, of course, you already ordered?"

Talia mirrored his grin, feeling the same sort of fluttery butterflies she always felt when Dominic was nearby. "No no, you're not late I'm just-" He finished her thought and she laughed. Well at least they were on the same page.

The waitress made her way over and handed them the menus, giving them the same spheal every dining place gave. "Oh no no, I was waiting for you. I only got here a few minutes ago."

The helmet was duly noted and Talia asked, "You have a bike?"

i wasn't sure if it was bicycle or motorbike so ... bike! >_>

His features settled into one of amusement as he started paging through the menu, skimming mostly and waiting for something to catch his eye. As he was going through the second page, though, her question caught his attention and he looked up briefly, then nodded. "Yep! Graduation present, if you can believe it," he laughed. Dominic was never one to really brag about his family's money, though in his Crosstourer's case it was actually a present from his aunt and uncle on his mom's side, so they weren't obscenely well-to-do. Just...well-to-do. Still, the statement was more said to highlight the fact that he managed to graduate at all considering his grades and record at Hillworth.

"Not sure how they knew I wanted one after graduating, but whatever. I'm still grateful for it." A brow lifted as a thought occurred to him before he went back to skimming. "Never seen it before? I ride it to school pretty often, you know." But then, they didn't have every class together, so of course the fact that she didn't know he had one still made perfect sense.

Eventually he flipped to the end of the menu and still didn't really know what he wanted, so he looked up and across at Talia with a curious look in his eyes. "Any idea what you're getting yet?" he asked, hoping for some kind of idea as to what he ought to get. This was his first time eating here, after all, and he was always at his pickiest when it came to first-time visits.

"Wow. That's some present," Talia commented. Then again, she'd gotten a car for her sixteenth birthday. Talia was really in no place to talk about expensive gifts.

She thought back, trying to remember if she'd seen Dominic on a motorcycle before. "Mmm ... guess not. I probably just missed it." After all, the only time she really saw him was in class or outside of school, so his vehicle was never really present.

Talia looked up from her menu and said, "Um ... probably just a salad and maybe a scone or something? Is that lame?" She laughed, leaning more heavily on her elbow. "Food aside, what've you been up to? Did you finally get some rest?"

Dominic only shrugged at her reply. It really was some present, particularly coming from people who weren't his parents. They always were rather generous with him, though, even when he was younger. In fact, most of his first puzzles and the first few additions to his coin collection had come from them. He let those thoughts die, though, in favor of other topics their conversation had touched.

"Hm...not even my helmet?" he asked, still perusing as she came to answer his question about her order. As Talia listed her possible order, ending with the "lame" question and a laugh Dominic couldn't help but smile broadly, shaking his head a bit as he did. "Healthy, but not lame," came his reply. "At least I don't think so. I'll probably get the club sandwich set, though, and some coffee."

Dom raised a hand just as she reminded him what happened during that morning jog, calling the attention of a nearby waitress so they could place their order. The memory made him sigh -- not one of his greatest moments, but certainly still a good time. "The usual, I guess. Skipping class whenever I can, wreaking havoc in my workroom while working on another alarm clock improvement." Then, he added with a chuckle, "Slept like a brick, yeah."

The waitress, who'd been rather busy with a few other tables, was just starting to make her way over as Dominic turned the question back to her. "And you? Go on any more jogs since then?" he asked, before grinning. "We should go again some time soon. I'll be sure to sleep the night before so I don't end up nearly collapsing again."

"Workroom? For your ... tinkering, right? You like that kind of stuff, yeah?" she questioned, attempting to get to know him a little better. She figured that was what you were supposed to do on dates after all, right?

At his question, Talia replied, "I jog every morning~ Twice a day if I'm lucky!" She'd finally settled on exercise being her way of coping with restlessness. She'd nearly become addicted to the activity. Being a senshi didn't exactly hurt the cause either. If she didn't patrol she always felt like she had too much pent up energy. "We should we should," she cooed, liking the idea of seeing Dominic more.

The waitress had finally reached their table, and Talia gave her order to the woman with a smile. She turned to Dom, letting him give his, and whenever the waitress left, Talia casually said, "Mmm so are you doing anything for Valentine's?" Pleeease don't let him say hanging out with his girlfriend. Pleeease.
