[9/16 - Daytime]



Rednal Ak'Thias and Aselia Bluespirit

As they'd moved, Aselia was the one who ultimately wound up taking the lead, navigating through the city and moving to an area far away from innocents that might have gotten caught in the crossfire. As always, her feelings were hard for others to interpret - she didn't really explain herself, but it was clear that she was unhappy, and she was gripping Rednal's hand very tightly indeed. Fortunately, he'd had plenty of time to heal on the way over, and had spent at least half of that time on his phone.

Right, then. The kid probably hadn't given up, and was probably going to show up in these woods any moment now...

Rednal Ak'Thias and Aselia Bluespirit

"Allow me to summarize how you talking makes me feel." Rednal said, raising Chaotica Angband and pointing it at his head. When he pulled the trigger, though, it wasn't brains that went flying - it was dark tendrils from the opposite side of his head that rapidly wrapped around his body to form a suit of armor. He'd get to blasting eventually, but this guy was tough, and defense would be helpful. Yidhra appeared in the air beside him a moment later, looking thoughtfully at Aichi.

Aselia wasn't really the type to engage in witty banter - being monosyllabic tended to put a damper on that sort of thing. Instead, she clasped her hands together, then swung around and fired a surge of lightning from one palm. It seemed to grip onto something in mid-air, and when she heaved, what looked like a unicorn with electricity crackling all over its body leapt out of the air and landed on the ground next to her, rearing angrily. It seemed the two victims wouldn't be fighting alone...

Aselia was thrown backwards by the impact, clearly hurt - although not as badly as she could have been, all told. Between her resistance to physical blows, the armor she wore, and one of her skills, she resisted a lot of damage overall. Of course, Aichi's Charge meant that she took close to normal damage anyway (powerful offenses were useful like that), but it wasn't the overwhelming blow it would have been on someone with no protection at all. It had definitely hurt her, though. The girl darted to the side a moment later as Ixion reared and sent out a ball of electricity from its horn that shot over towards Aichi. It was followed by another blast a moment later, this time from Aselia as the girl whipped her weapon around and sent an arc of crackling energy through the air.

Off to the side, Rednal finished swapping weapons, memories from earlier in the day flashing through his mind. Iofiel had definitely been right... there was no way he couldn't be worried - or upset - when a brat like this was attacking someone he loved. Just going wild wouldn't help the situation, though, and he exhaled sharply... then raised his gun, took a shooting stance, and fired a pair of shining bullets at Aichi. "Emphasis on 'like' - I'm sure your ancestors are just delighted to watch how far in the opposite direction you've gone. Tell me, does the dark side have cookies? I've always wanted to know." This was a serious situation... and Rednal was rather contrarian in how things like this made him want to mouth off. It probably wasn't the best habit, but what else was he going to do, yell "raaaaagh, I'm so pissed, I'm gonna hurt you!" or something? Eh.

Perhaps more to the point, there was a part of him that was terrified of actually admitting his feelings, because he wasn't sure he'd be able to hold himself together if he did that.

Aselia held up a bag of homemade sweets. "Nn." she answered. Rednal was probably rubbing off on her, at least a little bit.

"I'd explain, but you probably wouldn't understand. It's an emotion called 'happiness'." Rednal said, pulling the trigger on his gun again and channeling power through it. This time, though, it was light without the heat - a blast of radiance that swept across the battlefield. Not his usual fare, but he mostly just wanted to see whether or not this would actually work. "I have to admit that I'm kind of impressed, though. Somehow or other you got a lot of power, and you still manage to be a loser. I'm kind of iffy on the idea of destiny, but you're making me reconsider..."

Noticing what Rednal was doing, Aselia shrugged slightly, then focused on her inner magic and hurled a sphere of spiraling blue energy through the air. It was a rather interesting spell, all things considered, and she didn't have as many opportunities to cast it as she would have liked. At the very least, she was determined to keep pace with Rednal and show that she was NOT merely some whimpering little girl who needed to be protected by her man. She was an Agent of the Yatagarasu, thank you very much, and they would fight together. As if in response to the girl's feelings, Ixion staggered to its feet... then whipped its head and sent out a pair of electric disks.

"Well, after all I've done, I'd hate to disappoint." Rednal said as Aselia's summon vanished. "No, seriously, you have no idea how much time I've spent learning ways to hit twits that threaten the people I care about." He fired another bullet - but this time, it blew apart a card that had been summoned into the air, and his Persona merged with his body. Even as his hair lengthened and his clothes changed, the air around him seemed to twist slightly. "Azathoth, grant me your blessing." he muttered.

Aselia's expression twitched as her steed vanished, and as Rednal focused on one of his transformations, she whipped her weapon around and sent another arc of energy through the air to distract Aichi and cover him. He was powerful, yes, but power wasn't the only measure of someone... and she'd be a disgrace to the Yatagarasu if she didn't make a good showing here. Besides, he was toying with someone she loved... and she wouldn't forgive that so easily.

Without hesitation, Rednal began pulling the trigger - and this time three bullets shot out of his gun, each infused with the powers of light. The previous blast had basically been a test - this time, he really was going all-out with the attacks, hammering Aichi's weak spot as hard as he could. This particular combination was arguably the greatest benefit of his Persona Fusion form - if his enemy had a weakness, Rednal could and would exploit the heck out of it. If they didn't have a weakness, he'd just grab some other useful ability instead. Few powers were as great as the power of choice, after all - and it was probably telling that Rednal had finally stopped talking.

Aselia, on the other hand, coughed out more than a little bit of blood as she was stabbed - and the white wings that came out of her back started to crackle and darken, turning jet-black instead of weakening and fading away. She refused to be taken down that easily (...though her body's self-repair power definitely helped to do what will alone could not).

There was no way the kid was taking as little damage from that as he wanted to pretend, not when he still had a weakness and it was being hit that hard and that many times. Although Rednal COULD appreciate a good act when he saw one and-

Stop being mouthy as a defense mechanism to stop yourself from going crazy with worry about Aselia and friggin' shoot him already. You can't take very many hits of that ice and you know it.

Right.

Rednal pulled the trigger on his gun again, this time channeling one of his strongest spells through it. The searing light momentarily blinded even him, although at least it was accurate enough to not hit allies... else he'd probably never use the spell at all.

As Rednal hit from above, Aselia hit from below, firing a much stronger blast of almighty energy from point-blank range.
