It was a few hours, if his guess was right at least, after he and Ember started off in their random direction that anything interesting happened. Between the start and the moment that they found another Firani, a lone one this time, there was nothing but sand and a lot of Karayan having a one sided conversation with Ember. It was mostly him going on about how he wanted to show the pretty, blood red orbs to Madryn Col and how he hoped that such pretty orbs would impress his friend. He wasn't quite sure why he felt the overwhelming need to impress the other boy but he felt that a part of it was likely due to the fact that it seemed utterly impossible to do so. Madryn Col was a stiff sort, one that was hard to read, and as such made things a bit difficult when it came to getting on his good side.
"Making friends with his sister probably didn't help either, huh?" He mused to Ember who gave a chirp in response, making him think that she was probably agreeing. Not a good sign, that much he was certain of, "Well, maybe next time we can have a guy's day out or something. I think that would... ah! Dragon!" It was so much better, getting to hunt a dragon then having to just continue talking to himself. It was so much better when there was someone there to chat with that was more articulate then Ember was.
"Into the pack again?" He asked of her as he hurried forward toward the dragon, gathering up sand as he went, forming them into gauntlets. No sooner then Ember got into the pack he was carrying did Karayan lunge into battle, landing a good blow against the dragon's forehead... and in return he was given a headbutt that sent him flying back in the direction that he'd come from. He landed hard, rolled down a sandy embankment, but after a moment of starring up at the birdies flying around his head he was back on his feet. Ever since he'd become Gaili he'd swear that he was getting more resilient! He was better at bouncing back from such painful blows and it had him once more charging into battle against the Firani.

The Firani looked more then a little perturbed when Karayan returned giving a great roar that said that it was less then amused. It was a roar that Karayan refused to back down from even if he could feel Ember shivering in his pack, "It's alright, Ember, I've got this!" He said he said in his best hero voice before giving a booming laugh. With that he lunged forward, sending some sand flying the way of the Firani, entangling one of its legs, wanting to keep it from escaping best that he could. Best that he keep the dragon grounded, it would make things a whole lot easier on his part he thought to himself before he charge in to really attack once more.
He landed a few good blows against the dragon before he was once more sent flying, this time by the fire dragon's tail. Once more he bounced across the sand, this time forced to lay there a little bit longer, "Owwie... I swear... this would be a lot easier if I had someone else to fight with." He muttered to himself, rolling over onto his hands and knees, pushed up to his feet, and spat out a bit of blood. He starred down at the red that was staining the sand before making a face, "Ewww... that's not good. Best I try to finish this off before the dragon bloodies me anymore."
Jerking his head to the side, his attention going from his the blood staining the sand to the Firani he watched as the sand shackles started to crumble, "Ah! By Abronaxus's horns!" He gasped out, rushing forward to renew the attack. He couldn't let it get away, it might very well flee! The last thing he wanted was to come so close only to end up losing the creature, as well as its orb. It would be the one time that he was glad to be hunting alone.

(( Forgot to roll. >_>;; ))
Once he got close enough to the Firani, its sand cuffs nearly fully destroyed now, he threw his all into a good, straightforward, and somewhat brutal magical attack. It dragged forth more solid earth from deep under the sand in the form of rocky spines, thrusting them up through the sand as well as through the Firani. It was an attack that was powerful enough that it surprised Karayan as much as it did the dragon that it was used on. Not to mention that it left him feeling a bit drained, never having poured so much magic into a single spell before. The upside being that the Firani was starting to crumble away. Third time's the charm it seemed.
"Phew... I think that it's about time to get a bit of a break, huh? You think so, Karayan? Yes, I think so. Water would be good too. Yeah, fetch the orb, drink some water, then keep going toward... well, wherever we are going." He said as he walked over to where the Firani had been, scooping up the pretty orb, looking it over before he opened his pack, "Come on, Ember, you out, orb in." He told the fae dragon who crawled out of the pack, up his arm, and perched on his head once more. It seemed that she was all for staying right there but only when there was no danger to be had.
Once the red orb was in his pack he turned his attention toward the direction he had been walking, sniffing at the air, before he said, "Does it smell like salt in the air to you?" He asked of the fae dragon. That scent, it had to the ocean, right? Pulling his water skin out of his pack he took a sip of it, offered a bit to Ember, then started toward toward that salty scent. Time to see if they had actually made it as far as the ocean! If they had then it was time to go fishing!
