It had been a week. One really long, really work driven, really sleepless week.
To say he was tired was an understatement.
That however, didn't stop him from pulling the hooding over his head and once again locking up. He pushed his glasses up, and kept his head down as he walked. It worked for the most part. People left him alone and he had little stopping him from getting where he wanted to get.
And about fifteen to twenty minutes later, he was there, beating on the front door with a fist. "Open up Alex. I know you're in there."

Of all the people to be banging on the door of the house he was now sharing with Luka, the last one Alex had expected was Des. Maybe he should've been, given the storm of frantic and desperate texts he'd gotten from Gabriel explaining that Des wasn't speaking to him. Still, he moved rather quickly to open the door and let him in.
"What's up? You look like hell," he said, his tone sympathetic because he knew he'd looked like that, the first few weeks after Cait vanished. He stepped aside to let Des in, deciding that for now he was going to avoid the subject of Gabriel because something had to be wrong if Des was coming here before he went to see his boyfriend.

"No s**t. And I'm willing to bet you have some idea as to why." Just how Alex magically had Gabriel's number, and vice versa, was beyond him and he really didn't care at this point. "So... Up for getting drunk? No? Too bad. Call Lila. We're drinking." He grumped as he dragged himself in to the house and dropped himself on the couch. "Let me guess. He's flipping his s**t cause he hasn't heard from me and won't return my texts. He probably thinks I'm doing my thing again doesn't he? What else has he told you?"

"Not really, honestly," Alex said, flopping onto the couch next to. Des as he sent his sister a text.
[Come quickly. Bring alcohol. All the alcohol.]
Once that was done, he returned his attention to Des, tucking his phone away. "That's it, he didn't tell me anything else, but I figured something had to be wrong because even on your worst dives into work you can usually at least muster answering texts. What the hell happened, Des?"

"Why don't you ask him." Des sneered, waving a hand. "It's his fault. He did it." The purple haired boy sunk into the couch before jumping up and grabbing the blue haired boys collar. "If I ever find out you've been on or do LSD I will skin your hide. Lila or not. Got it?" And then just as abruptly, he let go before flopping on the couch.

"Des, seriously, what the ******** happened?" Alex asked, seemingly I fazed by having his shirt grabbed. "He doesn't want to tell me - so you become my own option. And you know I've never done anything harder than pot and alcohol. Not even usually together. Hallucinogenics are setting yourself up to think you're getting eaten by cockroaches or some s**t and no thank you."

"Don't do em together." Des growled. "Because you may be dating that idiot but you're sister will come to ME first.." The angry teen growled again as he scrubbed at his face before making an annoyed noise and glared at Alex for a minute. "That idiot was offered a cigarette from some ******** a*****e he doesn't even LIKE, and he took it because it was the polite thing." He hissed. "And the damn thing was ******** laced with LSD apparently. And guess where that led? He ******** kissed the guy. THEN, oh you'll love this, THEN he has the ******** gal to come home and try and make out with ME afterwards."

Alex blinked slowly. "Gabriel?" None of that - except accepting the cigarette, that sounded like exactly the kind of moronic decision he'd make - sounded like him. "God, you think you know someone," he said. "I am going to agree that you need lots of alcohol and possibly ice cream because there is no better breakup food. Trust me, I'be been through a lot of them."

"Yes." Came the annoyed hiss. "And you wonder why I never jumped on you. No offense to you but you are just kinda all over the place. Even if I know you better then the back of my own hand." He quirked a brow but didn't push it further. "Did he say we broke up? I know you have. Who's house are you usually moping at when it happens."

"I keep telling Luka that but he just won't listen," Alex said, his tone light. He exhaled as he stood up to go to the kitchen. "He didn't, no, just asked if I knew where you were and if you were okay because you weren't answering his texts. But usually kissing someone else is grounds for a dumping."

"Well Luka's an idiot so I can't help you there. At least with him, you get a taste of your own medicine." He continued to glare over the back of the couch. "And? What did you tell him. You better not have told him anything..."

"Of course not, I do have some sense of when to keep my mouth shut." There was a knock at the door, and he went to answer it - as expected, it was Lila with booze. She handed it over after extracting a promise to drink responsibly and stay home, and then left, and Alex walked back into the living room with a large box of bottles. "The drinks are here,a t least. All kinds of s**t. Probably eight different flavors of Smirnoff at least, she loves that s**t."

Des just shot Alex a look. Alex? Keep his mouth shut? Sure. That totally happened on a normal day. "You sister has weird tastes. Give me. I don't care what, just surprise me."

Alex started pulling bottles out of the box - a pretty decent variety of beers, vodkas, and even a bottle of Jack Daniel's. Delilah had even helpfully included shot glass sized plastic cups. "Ooh, score, cake vodka," Alex said, pouring himself a shot and then pouring one for Des and handing it over. "To not letting dumb assholes ruin your life, eh?"

"So then what's your excuse?" Des said, grinning as he downed the shot. "Or are you pleading the fifth on this one?"
